Thanks, John, well, I don't know how much longer the shiny is going to be calling out to me but for now it's probably going to be over a few builds, then it's back to the dark side! LOL!
Thanks, Roger. The band is called SUGARPIE AND THE CANDYMAN and it's a swing version of "ROCKNROLL/HEART BREAKER".
Delighted you enjoyed it.
Actually, this song could just as easily been done by the Squirrel Nut Zippers!
Ha, I knew you were going to say that. No worries, the change ain't happening yet. I am waiting for the bike to age and weather naturally and then I will make the change. When the pipes go, I will wrap them in tape.
Richie, I can still see some imperfections on there. You want to have as smooth a surface as it is humanly possible before the paint. The suggestion for taking your time and being patient is a good recommendation.
My plan of attack is always to get the most perfect body in primer possible, THEN I start thinking about the paint.
Go slow, and have fun with each step. This is part of enjoying your own styrene journey.
Chuck, I feel like this too, but sometimes a kit is just not available, so I order on line, but you are right I check the LHS first and if they have it, I'm one happy camper.
Don't resist, Dirk. You are going to have a blast working on these. They go together real nice, and they look pretty cool. My only warning is that you might not be able to just build one!
I don't know exactly what I have done to get this HE'S-A-JOLLY-GOOD-FELLOW song going on here, but hey, I'm just trying to have fun in this hobby, and this forum is full of great builders and wonderful friends.
Here's a sound track that always reminds me of my styrene addiction:
All right, Richie, here comes some tough love. Try to take a better picture, buddy, it's hard to tell what kind of texture you've got on that primer. You want to have as smooth a coat as it is possible. Also, I did the subject matter. Keep it going.
Aw shucks, thanks my friends.
Actually, Junior, you are right, I do have a nice bike and it's about to get a little crazier:
Here it is now:
And here are the new tins I just finished painting. A buddy of mine did the pinstriping. My hands are too shakey for pinstriping.
