  1. Folks, I am posting this here for Ranma who built this wonderful model. Hope everyone enjoys it.
  2. Tony, Ken is a generous builder, friend, and a true inspiration to all of us. He's one of those builders who really likes to feed everyone their daily allowance of eye candy, which is why he keeps his Fotki archives open for all of us to enjoy, so I hope more folks run on over there and check it out.
  3. Ok, got it.
  4. A hot water bath and a little twistin' will fix it.
  5. Nice, lordy, that paintjob has a lot of BLING to it. I like it very much.
  6. Welcome to the forum, Roger. Looking forward to what you cook up. That looks like a perfect contender. Enjoy the sights. Take a look around, this is a wonderful forum!
  7. Jim, nothing will happen, only that you will get one of my famous Scrapple Sandwiches in the mail once a month! LOL! No, buddy, it's a blog, I do all the heavy lifting . . . you just lean back and enjoy it. Of course, your comments, questions, and observations are always welcomed! Cheers, DC
  8. No matter how you slice it, all these cars look the same. They are designed by committees and again safety has won over style and or flair, so it goes. I've never again bought a brand new car since 1980 when I owned a Mustang, and that was it. I learned my lesson the hard way. In four years my Mustang went from being all together to coming apart. I'd find screws on the carpet and wondered where they'd come from, etc . . . In 2004, I bought a motorcycle and never looked back!
  9. Jamie, we all go through the same process. Every new kit is like starting over for me. I build the sub-assemblies and glue them and then pant them. It's an unorthodox method, but it works for me, plus it really gives me a very strong-built model.
  10. Jim, next time I'm down in your area on my bike, I will let you know. I usually go to Daytona Bike Week and October Fest and then ride around Leesburgh and a few other places.
  11. There should be some good places in Orlando, Tampa and even as far as Jacksonville. In Miami I only know of a couple of little place with not much of a selection.
  12. Enjoy the eye candy, James. When you finish the book, feel free to pop out your eyes again, by visiting Ken's Fotki Archives where he is working on a new diorama in 1/24th scale titled THE ARCADE. Here's the link" http://public.fotki.com/khamilton/models/playland_penny_arcade/
  13. If you want to see bottom of the barrel, come to Florida!
  14. Kevin, my advice is to save your time and apply it to a new project. If it's a matter of building that same model, then build a new kit. I say this because I learned long ago that If I built I a model I did not like, I would keep it so that I could remember exactly where I was before. The new model can be compared to the old model, and you would know what changes you made, progress, the things you added (this time) that make the new model better. Anyway, it's just a suggestion. Best of luck to you and your styrene addiction.
  15. Chuck, those are two perfect possibilities . . . we need all the different terrain vehicles we can find! Good luck choosing.
  16. How do you mean? As in photographs or illustration or painting?
  17. Amazing transformation. Looks like a neat subject, never seen before. Keep it going.
  18. You've put a lot of work into the body and it's already showing. Take your vitamins and keep it going.
  19. Wow, thanks to all the folks already joining up. I am touched by the generosity of spirit. THANK YOU!
  20. It wouldn't kill me either, Chuck, but it would probably make me a bit sad not to have contact. I mean, it's revolutionized the model building hobbies in that we all have instant access to each other's stuff, words and works. Harry, I spent most of my college years listening to THE WALL on a loop every night. Perhaps this is why Doctor Cranky is a little loopy! LOL!
  21. Jonathan, isn't 999 really sixes turned up? LOL! Post away, remember, there's no prize waiting for he/she with the most posts! LOL
  22. You are going to love them. The more I look at the Gremlin the more I want to build it soon.
  23. That blue is so BLUE my eyes watered. Nice. How can you go wrong with a 62 Imp. Nice.
  24. Tom, if it's any consolation you can always to the on-line hobby shops. They are always well stocked.
  25. That Commodore 64 was a lot better than the TypeStar typewriter upon which I wrote my first couple of books. What a pain! Oh, what a pain that was.
