  1. Well, you've come to the right place. Other places might not be as open to the idea of discussion creativity and depression. It definitely is a very interesting topic.
  2. Yes, where's the eye candy, please?
  3. I approach the dilemma a different way. If I don't feel like building, I look for inspiration all over the place, between the forums and the reading materials available . . . anything model related usually helps a great deal. Unlike Harry's approach, I try to keep a routine almost every day because I have found over the long run that building models DOES HELP steady my nerves, my mind. Now that I am middle aged, I am trying to keep hand-eye coordination sharp . . . I do try to build as often, but I also do take long breaks, and those are really important too. I think this is an extremely serious and useful topic of conversation . . . .
  4. Gotta get my hands on a few more 50 Chevy Pick Ups! Yes, it's true, it's an addition (if not fetish!).
  5. Thanks, Skip. LOL! Chuck, yes, about a year ago and it sat there until I got tired of looking at it unfinished. I put on my Cranky nerves and went at it . . . now, it's finished. Perhaps a diorama will call out to me eventually. Right now I need to paint some smooth, glossy bodies! I have a hankering for glossy paint, I wonder why?
  6. Keep us posted, but do not give up.
  7. Polishing is always a pleasure, but you have to be careful. I always spray a couple of extra coats of clear as a good insurance policy. But you can't be afraid of it. You have to do it and you'll get the hang of it in no time.
  8. Sand it lightly with 1500 grade with water and a little soap--very gently--and then respray another coat. That should do it, I hope. Keep me posted.
  9. John, this is spectacular scratch-building so far. Pure eye candy, my friend, keep it going.
  10. Wow, I am really loving that color . . . very nice. And it's going to look great with the interior. Keep it going, it's going to be a fabulous model in your collection.
  11. Barrett, LOL! Nope you are not missing anything . . . it's just something I ended up doing, following some strange and CRANKYFIED logic, as if the cargo would be so toxic at times, you needed lots of vents to let out the poisons. HA! Thanks for tuning in. I meant to say CRANKYFRIED! Which is different from CRANKYFIED! LOL!
  12. LOL! Thanks Romell! I appreciate the generosity of spirit here.
  13. You are making this kit already sparkle . . . and I can't wait to see this one in it's best dress-up suit! Keep it going. Take your vitamins and keep it going, please.
  14. Thanks, everyone. Thanks, T!
  15. Nice work, Tom, keep it going . . .
  16. Never too late, buddy. Thanks for the good eye . . . it never dawned on my that a military vehicle would not have any chrome, but you are right . . .those are the little details that count. Thanks. Best, DC
  17. Thanks, Jeff!
  18. I think that's looking mighty good, please keep it going.
  19. I already ordered a few kits just to get EYEGORE cranked up!
  20. Just a few more . . . perhaps this one will one day be a part of a diorama! I see a UFO crash site . . . .etc . . . that would be so much fun!
  21. Well, folks, Area-51 UFO Tracker is finished, and I want to say THANK YOU to all of you for your comments, support, and just wonderful energy. It's always a pleasure and an honor to build with so many of you watching. It makes the hobby room less lonely and productive. So THANK YOU all and enjoy:
  22. Please check out the final round of pics over in UNDER GLASS. Thank you for all the support, encouragement, and wonderful comments.
  23. I've been meaning to get one before they all disappear!
  24. Wow, that is one cool model. Very nice. Thanks for sharing it.
