  1. Thanks, Tony, yes . . . but we are also looking for pictures . . . Who remembers all those catalogs that allowed you to change your VW into a Rolls Royce front end, and modify your Mustang . . . the 70s were not my favorite decade, but they sure did make a lasting impression.
  2. I look for the Made in China imprinted letters!
  3. It looks like it builds up into a nice model.
  4. I don't know, with the caliber of the great builders on this forum, that could be tough too.
  5. All right, now that I have your attention, I need a favor from everyone. Could you help me catalog all those fabulous fads (yes, as early as the 40s and 50s.) and beyond of both the real automobiles and their versions in miniature. What I mean by "fad" is a school or movement in the way folk have personalized their cars, weather hot rodding them or customizing, or even the extreme of decorating their vehicles. I was born in 1962, and I grew up in Los Angeles, just a skip and a jump from where Big Daddy had his shop. Anyway, I grew up right smack in the middle of low rider culture. Keep it simple: All I really need is the description of what you remember, something that influenced the style of the times (remember curb feelers of the 70s?). A brief description and a couple of pictures whether of a model or a real vehicle . . . And no, it doesn't have to be in any particular order . . . and remember also that within certain fads, there are also sub categories . . . Since I came up with the thread, I will take my own medicine: Everyone knows Doctor Cranky and EYEGORE go cuckoo for Rat Rodz . . . which happens to be one of the latest crazes . . . Rat Rods (LONG LIVE RUST!) It also doesn't have to be a 30s Ford to be considered a rat rod, right?
  6. Wow, Lanny, that looks like--wait, EYEGORE has started to drool--a perfect yard mule. Love it. The tires are excellent and that crunched up rear fender looks very good too. Delighted you are living by this anthem: LONG LIVE RUST!
  7. You definitely have a point, although EYEGORE had been known to sit on the floor and roll his die casts across the room, all along drooling over how nice some diecasts are!
  8. I thought about that, but I think that's a diecast they put on there, I hope so . . . or his models all have fingerprints on them. LOL.
  9. Fantastic. Love it. It has a very spooky and unique feel to it. Keep it going.
  10. Eye candy, yes, bring it on, please.
  11. Love it, great job!
  12. It should be easy enough. Just glue them about an 1/8th of an inch above the frame or window. If you want folds, you can glue them on there too.
  13. That looks so 1970s. Love it. Great work so far, keep it going please.
  14. Looking good, keep it going.
  15. That looks like a nice kit, and if it's similar to their VW Panel Van, I would say you have a winner. Great subject too.
  16. I keep coming back to this one, it's a well-done and executed model.
  17. Beautiful, it's a great idea to do a side-by-side comparison in the same color. Nice.
  18. Love the color . . . excellent.
  19. Wonderful truck. It's a great subject and the rack makes it totally unique.
  20. Not here yet, but I should be hearing something from MODELROUNDUP soon.
  21. Lovely model. The interior just sparkles with great details.
