  1. I'm high on life, maties!!! You guys are too much. Thanks for the kind words.
  2. I love the way it's starting out . . . fresh, shiney putty. Keep it going.
  3. Ooh, I like the way the paint turned out. Beautiful!!!
  4. Here's the SPACE CADET WILLYS:
  5. Here are some pics of THE POLYNESIAN MERC:
  6. Well, I am still working on the caddy, but I was getting burned out, so an idea occurred to me--the same idea that hits me at least once a year--and that is that I've forgotten how to paint shiney bodies . . . and whenever that happens the thought makes me mad, and mad makes me get out my House of Kolor paints, and then I go crazy . . . and CRAZY I went this weekend. From Friday to now I painted 4 bodies: What? you say. Cranky doing shineys? Nah, it can't be . . . well, here . . . take a gander . . . from out yonder . . .
  7. Thanks, everyone, I am working on the engine now and I can see the ending coming soon!!!
  8. Thanks for all the great commnets. I appreciate them. YES!!! I can't wait to put it all together and take some glamour shots of this puppy. I hope this one will get done very soon, perhaps as early as this weekend. Cheers to all! And, again, many thanks.
  9. I think it's a great kit. Great companion to the 55!
  10. I think once the body is in pace and the trunk is open, this sucker is going to look okay at eye level . . . hey, I like the Devil's "special-of-the-day-dip" in the jacuzzi idea . . . I guess I could have made the surface of the tub a bit more turbulent, more boiling and roiling!!! The first unsuspecting victim coming in to light the Old Dude's cigar stub . . . "Hey, Sonny, you got a light?" My mind is not "demented," it is FETID & FERMENTED!!!
  11. I know what you are asking about this next shot. WHAT THE &^%$ is THAT????????????????? Well, I'll tell ya! The Devil's Caddy has the porthole to HELL in his trunk. I know, after all of that build up, that's it? Well, I got lazy and just poured some resin in the trunk to make it look like the perfect Devil's sauna/jacuzzi . . . after all of that charring and burnin' he needs a place to relax, right? It is all finally coming together, sunglasses, tattered, burned clothes . . . lots of beer and booze and reading material and great music!!! A man finally has a place to sit down and rest!!!
  12. Oooh, I love those colors. Great job on the paint. This one is coming along, chap. Keep it going.
  13. BRAVO!!! Great scratch-building, and it's getting yet a step closer to taking on some paint. Love it in primer! You are making great progress, chap!!! This is a highly entertaining and smile inducing build!!! Cheers.
  14. Thanks for the wonderful comments, everyone. They keep me building with a smile on my face!!! I hope to have more progress for ya later on today.
  15. Love it!!! That red looks powder coated on there . . . excellent build. Congrats!
  16. While Mr. Cranky waits to get his clothes dry . . . from a good soaking of glue and dark wash . . . here's more progress . . . finally got the backrest finished, and a few other details . . . as you can see . . . The graphics came out pretty good in this close up . . .
  17. Here comes Mr. Cranky all charred (the tattered clothes still need some paint and then some airbrushing of soot!!! But the glasses and the cigar makes him hum that tune, how did it go? "No Worry, Be Happy!!!"
  18. Thanks for the comments, my friend. Oh yeah, the skeleton is far from being done. I gotta drybrush some more color to him, and maybe put some tattered burned shreds on him and those shades . . . I like the shades idea.
  19. Oh, I like the shades idea . . . I have my Tamiya Figure shade making kit . . . I can make a quick pair out of wire . . . I gotta give it a try . . . In the meantime, here are the last two shots so far . . . Here are a couple of more shots, close and personal!!! Oh great, I had painted the cigar what I thought was brown, but now it looks red!!!
  20. You know me, Mr. Impatient. I had to try a little mock up fun . . . although I've already cut out those ugly visors from the windshield so that there's a smoother line . . . Here are some mock up shots . . . I like the way the skeleton is sitting back there, riding in style! Perhaps this is not an electric chair, but a beauty salon chair and that's the hairdryer on his head!!!
  21. This build just keeps getting better and better. Keep up the great work. I'm enjoying every step of it!
  22. Thanks for the six pack of D. Cranky Ale, Mike Napoleon, you are a prince among dioramists!!!
  23. As you can see, some of the details are coming together, and although most of this is glued down, the key elements like the skeleton is not because I am still not done with it, though I like the way he is reaching for that brewsky.
  24. Oh, man, that orange is gorgeous! Can't wait to see it painted.
  25. I'm liking it!!!
