Those wheels are going to look real nice on the Cutlass!! Keep on posting the updates..

I thought I'd get in on this as I'm building a '70's Phoenix, AZ Police car. A very good friend of mine made the decals for me and they look awesome!!! Here is where I at so far on it.

I've been meaning to post photos here for the last few weeks, so here in my work bench! On it is my '34 Ford truck I'm almost done with. I didn't like the chrome on the front bumper so I'm going Alcad it. The other one is my '70 Ford Phoenix Police car.

I'm going to be watching this one for sure!! I had a '71 Cutlass Conv. that I sold in some 20 plus years ago And as soon as I can I'll be picking up one of those kits and building the one I never finished. I saved mine from a junk yard then waited a year for my brother to move to AZ from MI to do the body work on it. And this is as far as I got on it, man do I miss that car.

How do I get the old format back
tuffone20 replied to a topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This is my 1st post on the new format and I'm not having any of the problems some seem to be having with it. I liked the look and feel of the old one better and now I just have to get used to a new look and learn how to use it again, but so far I'm ok with how it is. -
Oh now I see what your saying............... me dumb dumb......... Thanks for posting those other photos..
-
Thanks guys, I haven't had time to work on it the last few days and hope to work on it tomorrow. I guess they got it wrong in the instruction sheet because that is how they show them going on the heads.

Jeep looks great, but I think you need a bigger photo box............
-
They were cut open by the guys that built them, and no problem on posting the photo. Hey if you ever want to come by for a little build session let me know. Marty

Yeah, I couldn't beilive how fast he built it!! I had the kit for about 10 years? or so and Toby came by and found out plans for the club meeting had changed and he didn't have a kit to build, so I sold him the kit and gave him the paint. Not really thinking he would pull it off (knowing what a pain that kit can be, but don't tell him I knew that) but when he texted me a picture of it done that same night!! I was looking at my Galaxie thinking how in the @#**^ did he do that so fast!!! Good job Toby on such a fast build. Marty

here's a photo of Brian's Satellite on the table at the club meeting.

Thanks!! and the wheels I found in a parts box not sure what kit they came in?
-
Well a big honkin Ford needs a big honkin engine to get it down the road.............
-
well guys I didn't get my Galaxie done in time for the meeting as I just ran out of time, but this is what I ended up doing with the interior. Let me know what you all think of it.

I'm loving and hating this build at the same time!!!! I'm loving it because it's an awesome looking kit and reminds me of the '71 Olds Conv. I had back in the early '80's and that's the same reason I'm hating it because it reminds of the car I SOLD!!!!!!!!! I had a '71 hard top as well and for the longest time I kept trying to get this guy to sell me his '71 wagon!! Anyways great job on the front end it looks just right.
-
Man this is really looking nice!! I like the color you painted it and can't wait to see what it looks with the wood panels on it. Great job and what a cool build.
-
WOW!!! You guys are awesome!! You all gave me a lot to work with and and thanks for the kind words about the paint job!! It was one of those last min things where I was looking at the paint I had on hand and thought the Root Beer might look pretty good on it and I'm happy with the way it came out, but for some reason I just couldn't think of a good color for the interior. I'm trying to go for that mid to late '70's look and I found some Cragar's in the parts box to put on it. I wish I had another "428" and the Cobra Jet decals for it, but I don't so I'm using the kit motor and am using the air cleaner from the '34 Ford pickup. I wish I had more time to work on this one, but I'm trying to get it done for tomorrow nights club meeting!! I had most everything else done on it and am hoping I can spend the rest of the day working on it and finishing it on time. Again guys thank for all the great info. Marty

I'm building a AMT '69 Galaxie and I've painted it Testors One Coat lacquer Root Beer and I'm kind of stuck on what color to paint the interior? I also used the optional hood scoop and am thinking about painting just the scoop matte black? Here's some pics of it and give me your thoughts please. Thanks, Marty
