" And there may only be about 12 of these W/L versions in the entire world." "MAYBE" he should buy the other 11 and burn them, then he could finaly fund his evil villan lair in the rockies like daddy did.... -
Not to get too off topic, but what are you using for lighting, I would have bet that was outside in the sun !!! The clear really made that white POP !!! I've never messed with tamia paints, I may have to get out of my box and look at some new products.

2012 POST APOCALYPSE/ZOMBIE HUNTER COMMUNITY BUILD

I know a guy who does military airplane models, he will cut the lead our of penciles and sharpen the end of them in a sharpner...looks just like small short range missiles in a plastic tube barrel, or cluster. -
Chossing the right airbrush gun

Thats a good way to go, The proper "ratios" can get you in trouble if your using to much/ no enough air pressure. If you mix it to thick and bump up the air, its going to dry before it hits the car. You want to practice practice practice !!! To get what feels right for you. I recomend picking a brand you like or can get regularly, stick with it and practice with it thick and thin.. only you will know whats going to work for you. -
I've never seen the exhaust stacked up like that before, looks great so far...its to bad most of the newer vehicles hide all the details in splash guards and belly pans..but, so goes the race I guess

I hear ya, I had to make two decisions. #1, was i doing it for fun or for an investment? So of came the wrappers and into those double sided cases, 25 per side I think. The 2nd was what I couldnr collect them all ( like you said, a million easy) so I just pick up hte street rod, hot rod, muscle cars that I would like in real life...in every color When I get get home I'll get some pics. I've got a "grave digger collection, all hot wheel and a "moon eye" collection...maybe one lighting in that bunch..then all the regular old collection.

Car ads win Super Bowl

I dont have tv at my house, (to be honest, I dont miss it) But someone at work found some of them for me on line,...I want my minute back from Ferris and honda.!!!! That was horrid. -
My building time is mostly at night when the kids are tucked in and I've got nothing to do. Its a lot easier when int dark and cold out, other wise that time may be spent in the garage on something full scale. When I do have the time to build, its pretty easy to stay on task. I do distract myself with thiinking of other ideas to do when I'm working on something though...

Harbor Freight Score
moparmagiclives replied to SuperStockAndy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What are you shooting? I use clear plastic bottles from the make up isle, they have a spout on them. Most of my stuff is auto air so I mix and shake in them then squirt it into my fixed cup gravity feed. The little dixie cups for water fountains and pop cycle sticks work good for small amounts too. -
Cool beans man !!!

Oh yeah, gloves are a very good point too.... Anything to keep that stuff out of your body. Even if your not doing a ton of this stuff right now, or even using the really toxic products, it will help build good habits for latter on down the road. Someone else mentioned on a different threat I think, but put your carriage mask in a sealed bag when your not using it. A good cartridge will soak up ANY contaminants in the air paint or not, by the time you go to use it the next time it could be "full" and not able to protect you properly. -
How Do YOU Define a "Clean Build"?
moparmagiclives replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I don't know that a "clean" build has as much to do with the builders taste on color, parts, or overall theme of the build, thats where everyones personal taste comes in. I think it in their ability to do so with as little to no signs of assembly. i.e. ...no flashing, no parting lines, no sprue marks, NO glue marks..(that's where I struggle still) good, smooth clean paint and the overall fit of all the parts to them selves. This is where I think less is more, some builds have far to much going on that don't end up fitting right. Like Dave said about opening doors and deck lids, or some fully plummed and wired engine, chassis assemblies. Looks cool as a seperate component but can take away from the total picture sometimes...but that may just be my tastes talking. -

As far as the trap goes, you may want to look into an inline filter as well to put on your main compressor line right before your airbrush hose. I get them for my Eastwood powfercoating gun. Little black ding dong looking guys, just because you say your compressor has an oiler....doesn't mix with paint real well. You might give them a shot. They will last for quite a wile on an air brush, and really aren't to spendy -

And that went over soooo well, nothing like a v6, two seat car for people 5'6" tall with nowhere to go over night. .....oh wait, they made trailers for that ? It was a neat idea, just poorly exicuted I think. Just my 2bits -
