  1. I wonder what could be in the waterborn paints to kill someone in two weeks?
  2. Why would this "not" be allowed to be spoken about here. Its in the general section, its about a model...thats clearly not authentic, or lacks anything in the description or image to prove it, and its a little funny if you ask me. So why is it a big deal?....its not yours is it ??? Back to the topic, I was told once by a detective that the best way to fake something is to turn it upside down and "draw" it, its the best way to duplicate something without it looking like its been copyed...he also told me a motel is the best way to launder money...but thats for a different subject.
  3. I've been tool and gadget freak for as long as I can remember, it wasnt untill I found some patience, that I was able to use all those cool tools...But i doesnt hurt to have a good place to keep all those tools in order, so that they can be used for the right job.
  4. I have been looking at this one also, glad you posted it. I'm using the standard kit that came in the tin for Crankys apoc com build, and yes it is a pretty rough kit. But it should do very nice for shelf display. May have to get me one now, to add to my star car collection.
  5. Well he is getting up there and all, my grandma forgets who I am sometimes. Happens to the best of them I guess..... Did you bid on it yet ??? If not I've got a Mitchell Jordon rookie card signed I'll sell you.
  6. The new mopar blacks are horrid for orange peel. We had a newer hyundia loded sedan in a wile back...AMAZING black finish on it. just killed me to see.
  7. Sah-lick Daddy o. Where did your air cleaner come from?
  8. If yor not using the blower and wheels, I would take them off your hands if you would be interested in trading anything. I've got the DOH also, but want to build something diff out of it.
  9. I agree about the owners, but I thnk they make a pretty good car
  10. That new LFA looks really sic. Looks like a nice kit.
  11. Small update : I had a chance to get a little done on this thing finaly. Just about there, just need to finish the belt buckles and I can mount the body to the frame. I had the front and rear lamps done yesterday, I air brushed a light coat of transparent sungold from auto air, and gave them a nice polished brass/gold color over the chrome plating. But they just didnt flow with the rest of the car and all the chrome. So I stripped them down and will be paiting them to match the casket color.
  12. I agree with thet time issue, I would almost rather see those as a 6 or even 4 issue a year type of deal. give them time to get some good content built up. Good point !!!
  13. As I've stated before, I'm not really into the unfinished weld/rusted look. But I thought I would share this for those that do. I have been contimplating geting this to try and save and finish for a wile now. It has a pretty interesting story, the guy who started it got this far and his shop was burned, and so was his project. The guy who has a small wrecking yard here in town has alot of great stuff on the back line. He swapped the guy out for a stock cab and 100 bucks. I would love to try and get this strate and flat black it. Find some 50's car to rob the back half for a box How about twin hillmans...maybe turbo charged flat head 4 bangers anyone ???
  14. I didn't think a stock maverick was a big contender ? I would rather see a comet cyclone 64
  15. It's getting even worse from town to town as far as keeping it " local" Nice Mazda !!!
  16. I didnt see this posted, so I hope its not a double, but I thought someone would get a kick out of this. http://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoramic/porsche-stuck-wet-cement-proves-karma-exists-210302568.html
  17. I was given the advice on this forum to go to the local electronic store( radio shack) and get some motor wrapping wire. It's about 3 bucks for 50 feet or so. I will never use anything else if I wire an engine. Looks very real and scale and stays where you put it very well. A few choices of colors. And I also drill the center out of my distributor and lay the wires over. If you want to try a cheap plug boot, try getting a cheap pair of ear bud head phones and using the black rubber wire insulation. It's a little on the big side but looks ok on the bigger valve covers of the hemis. It's hallow once the wire is pulled. Great looking coupe, very authentic.
  18. Welcome back !!! Take a seat, take notes but don't take things to seriously... There are a ton amazing builders here, and a bunch of stuff to learn everyday. It's a great place to grow.
  19. What about an American car built buy a union led manufacturer ??? 6 of one.... You know the rest
  20. What scale is that? Looks sweet. To me, that looks like a hot rod, that needs a little tlc and ppg, but not a rat rod.. I'm not sure the guys running those magazines are sure what is and isn't anymore either. I quite buying low rider mag when it turned into one big sales add, and I stopped geting the rat mags when they turned into nothing but rockabilly/tattoo convention coverage partys.
  21. Best 350 bucks he ever spent hahaa , those were the good old days. That's awesome.
  22. Umm ... I don't see any Harry, is there such a thing as 1mm led?? I would go with the optic cord also.
  23. Sorry, I didn't catch the ACR part
  24. I can almost see that thing cut and hinged in the middle like a ball hitch. Like a horse and buggy.... Like some kind of motor city grim reaper mobile.
  25. Unless (gulp) there are two of them, that's it. But I seem to remember it was in hot rod mag, that it had a red interior and the story was he bought a complete car for some astronomical amount of money and then gave it this treatment. So it very well could be the same....just don't get it though.
