Bill, I feel you completely! I just spent a few weeks with a new lady friend- Had quite a lot of fun going out on dates. And then she just drops off the face of the Earth and won't even give me respect enough to give me a reason. So much for her saying she's "open" and "honest" and likes to be "adult" about things... It IS, my friend, how it goes. Women... Bill, I love the tutorial. I appreciate all the time and effort you are putting into this for the good of everyone else. I hope to see more soon.

Inappropriate forum behavior

My $0.02 Anyone who is cognitive enough to piece together a few sentences should be able to handle a period or two separating those sentences. Learning disability or not. Just makes things SO much easier to read. And yeah, I have disabilities... before someone starts throwin' fists... -
Yep. But like you, wishing I was back somewhere else... Colorado.

James, do you mind sending me the same info?

Even us young guys have advice to share. I cannot tell you how many times I've given advice over the internet only to have guys twice my age speachless because I am half their age. We help each other, give each other advice. Otherwise this hobby will just die. Great societies never made it anywhere by quarrelling and fighting amongst each other. If someone feels the need to complain and argue about everything and take everything to heart- grow some thicker skin, and get out of the hobby. Because you're ruining it for yourself and you're definitely ruining the fun for everyone else. Some great posts in this thread guys! -
Still looks good, even with the thickness! Mine is the 1/24 Revell 65 Fastback.
-
Very nice! I absolutely love it. Great details. Love the scrape on the door! My only nit pick would be that the thickness of the trunk lid stuck out to me like a sore thumb. Don't take that the wrong way, this is gorgeous. You should be proud of it, I would be. I'm working on a similar car right now! When it's done we need to get them side by side for a picture...

Very nicely done. The glass looks real.

Any H.A.M.B. members?????

I am a member over there. Don't visit my forums much anymore. No time! -
Guess I've been drinking too much of the V8 Koolaid... I didn't know that! But it makes sense, some of the Mustang 6-bangers were pretty torquey. I like that added picture! You can really see the dust now. Did you just use some chalk pastel or something? I like it.

It looks like an old, homely, no-name built car. I LOVE it. Just my style. Simple, not cluttered, no frills. Really nice build. You might want to drop something with a bit more giddy-up though in there though...
-
Hey Pete, I have a Mustang you could come help me with though... LOL Thanks guys, you're too much. The compliments mean a lot to me guys. I have a 65 Mustang fastback that I plan to rust out pretty good. I'll have to get back to work on that one now that you all have given me more confidence in my weathering! I just need to figure out where i'm moving to first...

Twin supercharger
Ryan Quantz replied to Darwin's Heros's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
The pyramid manifold shouldn't be too hard to scratch build. I wish I had the parts to spare, but I recently had these sent to me and they are going into a build I am working on... They came from an AMT 53(?) Stude kit. -
The Kit I have has an option for a stock ride height too... Nice looking model, great color, don't car emuch for the wheels. But that looks like a 37 Chevy to me, not 39.
-
 @ Harry! Modelmartin, I thought about adding a bunch of rust holes to the sheetmetal, but I wanted to try and capture the heavy, discolored surface rust that the Nevada Desert can do to a car. One day, i'll do the holes to a car, like what you speak of.
-
Great perspective! That 55 Gasser has a "scared" look on it's "face". Nice work!
-
Whitman, I really like it. Not only because the 37 Ford is one of my favorite cars.... They NEED to make a better one in my opinion. I like the way you painted the wheels. They look like an aged magnesium look. I might've gone as far as splattering some black on them so they look pitted. But maybe you weren't going for the aged look... And though I like the texture and look of the rust and patina, for some reason it just hits me as the "scale" of the pattern is too big for the car. Hard to explain, but it looks like it was cut from a larger piece of rusted stuff. Which, in itself, is really neat. I like it man! Nice work!

I run a circa 2000 iMac with MacOs 10.3.9 . My brother in law upgraded the internal hard drive or memory or something, but even if I installed a newer Os, I run the risk of the computer being super slow in doing anything. I have Safari 1.3.2, which is the highest that Mac 10.3 can run. Photobucket and the likes have plug-ins or whatever that need to be installed for me to properly see their site, and those plug-ins require Mac 10.4 or higher. Unless I am doing something wrong... I'm not to keen on computer stuff. I am just glad my Dinosaur Mac works good enough.

I truly thank you sir. Doing this is MUCH appreciated. My cumputer cannot be updated enough use those image hosting sites for some reason.. Thanks for the compliments guys. However, I might fiddle with the driver's side a bit more. But this was my first attempt at weathering, does anyone see any areas I can approve on? I like building nice shiny cars, but I think I am in love with building these types of cars after doing this one. Harry- I'm obsessed with little details, and sometimes they are so easy to add but have so much effect on the project.

MCM Gallery Sorry for linking to my album, but it'd be too many attachments and I can't use image hosting sites on my browser!... Pictures added below, Thanks to MrObsessive!! Here is my 57 Chevy that I finished up a short time ago. It's the Revell 57 Chevy 150 "Black Widow" kit. I built it as somewhat of a beater, which was returned to the road with a bit of maintanence. It was weathered with chalk pastels and a few different bottle paints. The color is Dupli-color Hampsted Green. I lowered the car 4 inches from stock, scratchbuilt the mufflers and the PBR can in the engine compartment. I used a jewelry polishing cloth and silver-painted mashing tape on the seat. Discolored epoxy was added to the emblem on the grille and pitting was added to the trim with a "splatter" technique. Other than hiding the mounting pins for the light lenses and some other little touches here and there, the mods mentioned above, it's built out of the box. I always allow any comments, thoughts, criticism, snide remarks, etc.... If anyone has any tips on posting these photos directly from my album into the thread, let me know...

40Th Annivarsary Of The Summer Of '69 Community Build
Ryan Quantz replied to Nick Winter's topic in WIP: Model Cars
So basically, any car older than 1969?... Cause my 1953 Mercury is still on the road in it's stock guise, but it's 1969 A.D. I'm just trying to understand, since I might be interested in building something for this... -

Am I the only one confused? A "summer of '69 truck community build off" where only 5 trucks will be let in, the rest being cars?.... -

I have one more for you Harry. Homeless people should now be called "Urban Outdoorsmen/women." I heard this on the radio a while back. No joke. -
