  1. I changed servers.. www.timstrucks.com is the domain name, but your bookmark is probably the old server. Try timstrucks.com and bookmark the page after it loads (http://timstrucks.web.aplus.net/tim.htm) Tim
  2. The link is a general link to MCM to get people to buy the magazine. ! I'll bet the 'binder types do razz you about the Red Oval. Tim
  3. Aaron The 377 will require a bunch of changes/modifications. Cab window shape change, door handle grind off and make new, remove the raised air cleaner intake on the cab side, remove the molded on fender section from the cab. Move cab mounts aft. Re-route exhaust piping (lengthen). Modify radiator. Modify front spring hangers for lower radiator. Make new style mirrors. Tim
  4. This would be a splendid project. The rear of the 359's frame would need to be squared instead of the tractor taper. The dump box cut to whatever length needed. You could even use some of the dump trailers axles create a tag axle. Tim
  5. Brian Welcome! There is a 386 resin hood available as posted above, from American Industrial Truck Models. The conversion comes with hood/bumper and battery boxes. It is meant for the Italeri 377 kit (which will need to be modified). Tim
  6. Very nice ! The Rex mixer looks right at home on the DM600. Tim
  7. The photo of the Mack engine in gold is the same one that is in the brochure I mentioned. Tim
  8. Aaron I'm looking at a 1973 Mack Western COE brochure and the Maxidyne is bright gold. The alternator is dull silver, the starter is matt black. The fan is black, the fuel filter is red, the fuel filter is green, the engine mounted twin lube filters and matching gold, the coolant conditioner filter is blue. The brochure also shows the transmission as being gold. Tim
  9. Jim Kenworth stopped production of the K100 cab last year and now uses the DAF cab for the export/oilfield COEs. Peterbilt and KW use a DAF cab in for the Peterbilt 260 (K270?) COE. Starting in 2009, the DAF 12.9litre engine will be built here in the US for KW and PB's as an alternative to Cummins and Cat engines. A huge facility is being built in Alabama. There is a DAF 12.9 in this Peterbilt 388 Tim
  10. Dan Spoke wheels.. simple.. they were the only wheels I had that fit the big RNK tires! Tim
  11. The 350 COE was built in '02 I think. The cab is a resin cast item from Illini Replica Conversions (no longer actively casting). I got the cab from Evan Hermel. The livestock body is made from a junked Wilson livestock trailer. The wheels and tires are from the former RNK Conversions. More pics are on www.timstrucks.com Tim
  12. Evan The K500 COE is a regular production truck replacing the C500K COE. Mainly for export and oilfield use. Tim
  13. When Kenworth stopped using their own K100 cab on the C500K heavy COE last year, I saw the prototypes with DAF cabs and wondered how difficult it would be to build one of these. I found an Italeri DAF XF SpaceCab kit on eBay, bought it, and scrounged up some old Paystar frame parts and started slicing and dicing. Finished Photos are after the in-progress photos Finished Photos Thanks for looking. Tim
  14. Both Stevens and ModelKing are distributors of model kits. Both have been contracting to have special runs of model kits for quite a few years. Tim
  15. The AMT logo on the Autocar A64B kit is the old 1970's AMT logo. The Ertl name was added when Ertl bought AMT back in the days when Ertl was one brand and AMT another. (Think "White-Freightliner" or "Volvo-White-GMC") Tim
  16. Thank you for posting your website ! Tim
  17. Jeff Gary made them for me as a gift. I think he does do custom work. I can't find his email addy right now. Tim
  18. Sorry, no engine pics, the engine is incorrect for the 389, as there is no modern '07+ EPA engine in kit form. The 389 is a curbside (hood fixed shut). Tim
  19. Welcome! The 351M (M for combination of Aluminum frame and steel crossmembers) is quite a bit different from the 359, but in 1/25th scale, the differences aren't that apparent. The AMT kit represents a 1975 359, you're backdating a few years. Both trucks had outboard steering gear box. Some 351's had the steering box inboard (inside the rail) but this set up won't fit with the Cat at the time. PB eventually made all the steering boxes outboard for ease of service. The kit has the box outside the rail. (it wasn't until the 379 that the steering box moved forward of the axle). For a Cat of that vintage you are out of luck. The Revell/Monogram snap 359 has a Cat, but it is a 1980 vintage. The Allis-Chalmers engines.. a very short lived product! I don't think you'll find any working specimens today. Brief info: 351 BBC's.. the standard was 119 BBC. This hood accepted the Cummins 250 and 350, along with the Detroit Diesel 671 and 8v71. The 123" and 127" BBC were for the bigger turbocharged engines are are quite rare today. Tim
  20. That is looking good! Where did you get the chromed front hub cabs? Tim
  21. If I recall, mine came with the cab shell, interior tub, bumper and a grille option. I didn't like the molded on headlamps but built it as-is for a magazine resin review. My plan was to build another with the optional grille and round headlamps and a shorter sleeper. Someday... Tim
