  1. Captain's chairs? that DOES look spectactular!!
  2. Well, Rodney .. those are the wheels Dirk was looking for. I needed phone dials for the build of the '92 944 I had but found them in a 911 kit. Is that a Testors kit of the cabrio?
  3. Welcome aboard. At the glactial pace I build I'm more a gawker myself, but always feel welcome.
  4. Mine is still on the bench but so am I. AMT, chopped top, top half of grill shell was molded, cast and added to the bottom. An old 50's trick.
  5. Thanks to everyone for their comments. The drying has seemed to have moved along some since it's been upstairs in the heat, but not completly yet. I may just take a few of the suggestions on how to speed it along. At least I'm better educatuted on simular occurances others have had.
  6. An error in the New York Registry of Deeds has given me title to the Brooklyn Bridge if anyone is interested. .. sell or trade .. send a PM
  7. Could you make your intent a bit clearer so we can give better reccommendations? Are you molding each part separate and building or glueing it together and molding that in resin? Are casting in brass or something other than resin? What is the final use of this?
  8. WoW! They should have called this the kit the Creative Juiceora! Never saw so many great interprations of a kit! Please, keep them coming!
  9. ! ! ! YES! >>> YES! >>> YES!
  10. I really don't know 100% what Krylon Indoor/Outdoor is. I would assume either Lacquer or Enamal, but I know it is not an epoxy. I have searched Krylon's site but they are pretty mum about what their paints are classified as. I know it would be nice to have 70F or more for temps, it does say on the can that 50F to 80F is what this paint wants. Most all paint is ok at 50F or more, though higher will definatly let it flow better. Te body has been upstairs in 72F heat for half of it's drying time, about a week now. I should also mention that I painted the chassic/floor pan a day later with the same paint ... over and undercoat. .. and that has dried fine. This has jsut exasperated me. Thanks for you response, Patrick .. you got me thinking about a few things.
  11. There was a recent thread on almost this same problem but I was unable to find it, so please bear with me as I ask. I painted a body using Krylon Indoor/Outdoor gloss Leather Brown. It went over some Duplicolor Sandable Primer which I always use. I have used this paint combo before as It was a base for a weathering job, so I feel it's not a paing compatibility issue. Both paints were applied from a spray can and were fully shaken before use. The problem is, it has been almost two weeks and the paint still has a slightly tacky feel to it. I paint in the basement where the temperature is 65F and the humidity is 20% as I have a dehumidifer. I know there isn't enough info to know exactly what is going on, but I was just looking for a discussion on what might have gone wrong from those with more painting knowldge than I.
  12. I'm loving seeing all these builds here! Makes me want to go for a spin in my 5 Ton .. if the MP's didn't take my logbook because out trucks had NO identification markings! That is like driving without a icense plate.
  13. Ryan . is your ebay store still silvaresinspecialties? I'm getting nothing or do you just have nothing up at present? I'd sure like a link to click in your signature here . and I'm sure everyone else would too.
  14. A real eye catcher there!
  15. eheh .. we all have out unrelaxed areas of building. The great thing about model building is the vast quantity of skills required. I think everyone has at least one thing they don't care to do when putting a model together. For me it's painting .. 7 seconds to spray and a half hour of prep and cleanup .. that's just not fun!
  16. I was following this and it's just a pleasure to look at.
  17. I'm drooling, Ryan. I got some 356 kits just for the wheels and engine to use on other builds. NOW I can build a whole 356 and not worry about using the wheels!!!!
  18. A 360 .. that sounds about right. Thanks for the info, Wayne. We had tons of 5 tons too. I've looked but never found any kits to make one.
  19. My personal pickup while in the service. Aluminum body and some type of Chrysler V8. I also drove this one on occasion ...
  20. That's an awesome paintjob ... look sright on that R35 .

    A few rats

I'd hire you to paint my house as soon as you entered my driveway!
  22. I wrote my first computer program (Fortran) in 1964 for an freezer sized IBM thing in my first college year. I almost changed my major from engineering to that amazing box! My first home 'puter was a Digital Rainbow in 1985 .. an "IBM compatible" but with 16 color graphice (!) when the IBM's had only 16. So computers are not unfriendly to me.. had 3D Stufio the first day of release to do 3G graphics, Photoshop forever, I've dissassembled games to find where that irritating disk check was and shut it off, ... and NEVER had a cell phone in my life and never will. I don't find it very important for everyone to inturrupt my life at their convience for any little thing. I don't even ansew the hardwired phone here until I review ansering maching message ... when I't conviente to me. I still like technology and always will. That does not mean I must buy everything just because it exists.
  23. Agreeing woth Greg's alligator clips, I attach them to sections of sprue with a hook at the ends .. a section cut from a corner that forms the hook .. for hanging out to dry.
  24. Everything's been said, but again, very cool and that thing has surly been around the track!
  25. It may be an H2, but Military vehicles were MADE to reconfigure and reconfigure again! We had reconfigured APC's (steel personal carrier boxes) reconfigured as aluminum bodied pickups to haul out missles around. Go for it!
