  1. zowie! nice job on doors any paint. The right hand drive blows me away!
  2. I think I enjoy your builds watching as you do building.
  3. Just a pleasure to look at this ...
  4. Just a quick note on my buddy Ryan, Dave. .. he is a superb resin caster! His wheels are smooth and clean as silk (or injected plastic, if you will) . I'm going to love seeing what comes of this !
  5. Welcome Scott and what a great build ... with son. Mine didn't inherit my styrene DNA ..
  6. I have a soft spot for '59 Chevys, but I'm loving this! Finally a build where the front nose vents look right!
  7. I say it's sacrilegious if you DON'T and that sensuous styrene sits untouched on a shelf! Kits were MEANT to be built! I like what you're doing here .. the new bed is looking great!
  8. yup .. that was a 928
  9. Yahoo Ryan!!!! Now, my 356's will be safe.
  10. Good to see ya back in action, Dave .. and, I love Valiants!!!!
  11. Just don't mention it to the significant other!
  12. This is looking good! I was going to suggest the Tamiya Beetle for the best VW engine and a Fujimi 356 for those wheels on your Dad's car. The engine in the 356 is also an excellent engine. They show up on ebay quite often. I do see you seem satisfied with the engine you have, but the 356 is th eonly place you can get those wheels .. and they are VERY good examples of those VW wheels.
  13. I tried too as I've been in need of some fine tape and had no luck .. same as you mention. Using latest Firefox ...
  14. Funny you should ask! My first car was a '51 Plymouth and I've always burned to do a model of one. The only one I've found is a '49 by R&R Resin. Here's a link to the thread started when I first got it. I've contemplated the conversion using the front end grill surround from a '51 Chevy which is pretty close. So far I've only started building up a '41 Plymouth engine to match the L-Head in my '51. That's a gorgeous red one there .. yours?
  15. Loving those coupes .
  16. That poor old thing. ......... nice job
  17. Impressive work here. It looks like some nice bodywork getting the open front end and some Cadillac level work on the interior!
  18. A curious question, as my memory fails me. Was the Corvair air-cooled or would it need a radiator?
  19. This is a razor saw I bought in the early sixties that has a removable blade attached with 2 or 3 screws and nuts. I'm sure I got it at the local hobby shop at the time. It has 'ECLIPSE' 'Sheffield, ENG.' and 'NO. 45' stamped onto it. So, replaceable blades saw were made at one time. I don't know where you'd find one now but hope this helps somewhat.
  20. This might be a good spot for that wonderful Fujimi 356 mill being so visible ... and since the wheels might also be salvaged for this.
  21. This is quite a chemical soup as I've only heard of people just adding water to fine steel wool for rust powder. And, yes, we all want to see the results in some photos.
  22. Just as a quick outline, I've curled a thin piece of styrene sheet around the wheel well and glued tight. It should project from the body the amount you want to flare. Sand this to shape and use body putty to blend into the body.
  23. I'm sometimes embarrassed to say I live in the mountains, so sometimes it IS the Berkshire Hills. The highest point in Massachusetts is just down the road ... Mt Greylock but only 3500 feet ... shamed by the Rockies for sure.
