Sneak peek ....... Lindberg's Dodge Raminator
SteveG replied to SteveG's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Hi Luc, I don't work directly for Hawk/Lindberg, I'm just an outside resource who helps them out when needed. I don't know the whole staff, I only have a couple of contacts over there. I can ask of course if you get me the name. -Steve -
Sneak peek ....... Lindberg's Dodge Raminator

The molding of the tube chassis parts are very clean, the only area that needed any attention is where the sprue attachment points are. There were no heavy mold lines to clean up. -Steve -
Brand new tool ....... no comments ????
SteveG replied to SteveG's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'll definitely pass along the suggestion for a Stock Durango and/or Ram Pickup kit. As far as other new tool possibilites from Hawk/Lindberg I'm betting on additional Chrysler Products as they have a very good relationship going from what I'm told. For right now the only other new tool truck I can talk about is the Dodge Rampage Concept vehicle. It's a FWD Pickup that is powered with a 5.7 litre Hemi. No release date yet but hopefully you'll see at least a test shot by the end of the year. -Steve -
Brand new tool ....... no comments ????
SteveG replied to SteveG's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Folks, I hope you can tell by the tone of my post I was trying to have some fun with this. It just seemed odd that for such a opinionated group, I found it surprising that I hadn't got a single comment about it. I had done similar posts on it elsewhere and got plenty of replies which fell mostly into two groups. Those who can't wait to buy it and those who pretty much though it was a total waste of plastic. Not much in between. Personally, Monster Tucks aren't my thing either. Regardless, I had fun building it and was very glad I was able to help my friends over at Lindberg by checking out the test shot for them. I would like thank them for letting me share photos of something that is still "work in progress".... However, I'm not on Lindberg's payroll so you wont hurt my feelings any if you don't like the product. Just don't kill the messenger .... -Steve -

Billy, It's the real thing ! Here's a photo of it in action..... There's more on the "Raminator" and "Rammunition" at the Hall Bros Racing website. http://www.raminator.com/ -Steve -
:? Help me out here, I know I'm far from be a prolific poster in this forum. I would think that a post previewing a brand new tool would be worthy of at least a couple of comments after a week. Apparently not as of this post. So at least clue my in on the problem, is it .... A. I posted it in the wrong place (it's in New Kit Reviews) or some other posting error. B. The subject matter is so unispiring that it's not worth commenting about. C. Everybody so busy debating the quality of some old resin (or is it an old resin caster) that they didn't see it. D. I'm completely off my rocker, you have know idea why I posted this. Lets get this guy some help !!!!! E. Something else, but we won't tell you hoping you become answer D. -Steve

Latest project...1967 Mercury Cougar (new pics 4/17/2007)
SteveG replied to Marc @ MPC Motorsports's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Marc, That's going to be very cool. Seeing it bring back memories of car I used to see all the time. There was a girl who live down the street from me who was dating a guy who drove a brand new Lime Frost 68 Cougar sporting some Cragar S/S wheels. I wasn't into Ford products back then but I couldn't help but notice what a sharp looking car he drove. I'm going to have to build that car one day. -Steve -
Irv, I really like where you are going with this one ! .... Still, a part of me wonders how it would look with some 20's and the famous "ARTER RAKE" -Steve

Some of you may have noticed I haven't been posting lately. Well I've been busy with several new projects and here's one of them. This is a test shot of the Dodge Ramintor due out this summer. The fine folks at Lindberg asked me to give it a look over. Boy is this thing big !!! It's definately 1/24th scale. I placed it behind my only other Dodge truck model for comparison. This is no snap together kit, definately skill level three. It took me about 10 hours to build it without paint. I'm going to let the photos speak for themselves. For those who haven't seen it yet, here's a sample of Doug's box art work. It's so cool I'm going to have to get a copy from Doug for my wall. -Steve -
Hi Carl, That's a real nice looking Custom Merc !!!! -Steve

That's very nice work !!! What's the grille shell from? Reminds me of the Ala Kart. It looks like you added a flat head too. -Steve

..... built in the spirit of the early box art. No high tech turned alluminum, white metal, photo etch, carbon fiber, urethane painted, resin cast parts on this baby. Just the 55 parts from the kit, paint and a sliver of chrome foil. Actually, I only used a total of 52 parts and I swapped out the rubber tires from the 34 roadster pickup to be honest but you get the idea. Not my usual build but lots of fun. I hope you like it ! -Steve

72 blazer question
SteveG replied to Bob Doebley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yes, black was used. here's some photos.... -
..... it's the new display cases for 1/24th and 1/25th scale kits. What first grabbed me was the cool diamond plate design chrome plated base, but more important is the size. They are longer then the cases I had been using. At 10 3/8 L, x 4 5/8 W, x 3 3/4 H inside at the base, my Snap Fast Silverado Extended Cab Duelly fits easily even with the tailgate down. Here's a comparison showing the generic cases I've been using. My Ford F350 Camper Special barely fits. Even this J.F. conversion for the Ecto 1 Caddy fits with room to spare, and the Johan Hearse - Ambulance kits will fit too. Thank You Hawk/Lindberg !!! -Steve
