  1. I found those same photos, the one in the back is "Tin Indian III" which is a '63 Catalina Ht. I'd like a better a photo of that one too but it's not the one I'm looking for. Thanks for trying though. -Steve
  2. Looking good Tom, better keep a close eye on the resin Merc, I've heard the Purple pond may soften some resins. -Steve
  3. ..... in '62 Arlen Vanke drove 4 different '62 Pontiac SD Catalina's for Knafel Pontiac. A Black Conv. called "Black Wirlwind", a Silver 2Dr Sedan called "Tin Indian", and twin Red Hardtops, Tin Indian I" and Tin Indian Too" I'm looking for any photos of that '62 Silver 2dr Sedan "Tim Indian" for a new project. Any help would be appreciated. My internet searches for that car have been a bust so far. TIA - Steve
  4. James. That came out excellent !!! I'm sure you'll do well with it at the Mopar Nats. -Steve
  5. Yes, the Semi Box Trailer was announced last year. It's also a former IMC tooling that shares some parts with the Flatbed and Tanker trailers. The Semi Box Trailer should be available later this year. -Steve
  6. It's not the best photo but this one was at the NNL East 2008. Maybe some here has a better photo of it. -Steve
  7. I've been hinting for while about another old IMC tooling coming back, well here it is !!! ...I just shipped this one back to Lindberg for use as box art. It's a test shot that they had chrome plated. Not the best plating job on this one but they'll do better once they're in production. A big thanks goes out to Ernie Petit and my friends at Hawk - Lindberg for letting me share this one early. There should be an unplated version coming too. For those who aren't familiar with this kit it can be built as both a long tank (shown) or short tank trailer. The short tank can also be easily mounted on your favorite truck chassis. If you want to see what a painted one looks like with the L-700 check out the link to Timstrucks.com and go to the bottom of the page. Timstrucks.com - Dodge Page No release date or pricing info yet, If it's packaged with the L-700 which I'm assumimg for now, it should be priced about what the L-700 Trailer and 40 Ford Combo kit is going for. No word if it will be sold separately but I wouldn't rule it out. Look for an official announcement sometime this fall. -Steve
  8. No, they definately new it was 1/20th scale. You can see it marked that way on the website. According to my source there, the boxes were a printing error. As far as sales go, re-issued kits are the most profitable for them. If sales happen to be slow on a few products they're not going to fold up a go away. Last time I asked, I was told they are very pleased with total kits sales numbers. More kits are planned and are on the way. Besides, my work bench is over flowing with Lindberg related projects. Look for some announcements this fall. -Steve
  9. My source at Lindberg told me he was pretty upset sfter he was informed that Gremlin Grabber kits were miss-labled. To add insult to injury he didn't find out until after they were shipped because he would have re-boxed them given the chance. Also, Ken is pretty much on target about the game plan, they are cleaning out the vault to find out what will sell. The most popular kits will probably be expanded with new versions. Some like the GG probably won't be seen again but I don't blame them for giving it a shot as who else has a plastic Gremlin kit, nobody. I doubt you'll be seeing any of their 1/20th scale kits from the early 90's re-issued any time soon. However you can expect a few more nice suprises from the old kit vault to be coming. -Steve
  10. Does anyone have the original PSM issue? I would like to see what parts are either missing or are changed compared to the current issue. -Steve
  11. Yes, that's the optional custom nose panel. Note the fixed headlamps instead of the Datona style pop-up lamps. -Steve
  12. Here's some photos of the kit and it's contents. The box art model is probably the nicest one I seen of these built out the box. It was built by our own James Tester. Some say it's a close knock-off of the old MPC kit. Builds up out of the box as a street machine or custom version only. It you want to build a stock verion you'll have to do some kit bashing. I've already have one started using parts from the AMT Yankee Challenger. If you want a true hardtop body and don't want to mess with resin or pay collectors prices for an original MPC kit, it's the only game in town. With a liitle work you can build a nice model out of it. =Steve
  13. Well done Len and Bill !!! I was already sold on getting the kit well before you got to WIP part #5 of the build up. The building tips are a nice bonus. Thanks for posting it .... -Steve
  14. Other then the engine being the wrong color that really looks great !!! Of course I can't be to hard on Tom considering I use to cruise around in '64 GTO that was powered by a big block 427 Chevy and yes, the motor was painted orange.
  15. Bob, Well done, great choice of wheels and paint color !!! It will be interesting to see what other plastc kits Jada brings us. Thanks for the build up and review. Steve

Nicely done GTO guy..... I'm a big Pontiac fan so keep them coming. -Steve
  17. Nice color choice Bill, I really love those unique 50's color combinations. -Steve
  18. ..... Well I finally managed to get a break in the action from Lindberg to finish this. It made it's debut appearance at the NNL East but I didn't get a chance to photo it until this past week. It's a Modelhaus '56 Pontiac Pathfinder Sedan Delivery, the 1:1 was only available Canada and they are pretty rare. It had been sitting in primer for about a year waiting for me to paint it. On the interior I added both a shift and turn signal lever to the column but that was it. Here it is right before the final assembly ... I still may add a set of license plates but I'm calling it finished for now. The colors are '56 Pontiac Vista Blue upper and Chesapeake Blue Metalic lower custom mixed in PPG lacquer by my good buddy Bill Borgen. I used the Johan photo etched script on the hood, as well as the door locks. I added the deluxe two tone trim moulding to the upper door as it was available even on the base 2dr wagon. I also added a pair of mirrors and some clear headlamp lenses, otherwise this all from the Modelhaus kit. It was a fun project to finish, nothing beats a simple curbside kit to recharge the batteries. Thanks for looking... - Steve
  19. Let me be the first from the Hawk/Lindberg camp to welcome Tom and John to the community and wish them good luck with their plans for the AMT, MPC and Polar Lights Brands. As a modeler first, this is great news for our hobby. RC2 - Learning Curve treated those brands and their consumers like a Red-headed step child. The fact that John G. went to the trouble to post this information direct to use shows that we are dealing with a class act and is a good sign there will be someone who cares about what the Adult modelers think. There is no doubt there is a lot of work for them to do, but I believe these folks are very capable of restoring the good name of those brands as well as restoring the actual tooling. To me, this is the best possible outcome (next to my pal Ernie Petit getting a similar deal going of course). Lets give them some time to get things moving. I expect they will put a system in place where our suggestion and complaints will be heard and considered like they should be. At least that's what I'm betting on .... -Steve
  20. I couldn't agree more, that front pump is a work of art all by itself. I can't wait to see it finished -Steve
  21. Aaron, Yes, It's the tractor only version and it's molded in the nice white plastic that they usually use and I'm 99% sure its being produced in good old Michigan, USA. As for the turn signal lenses that were added, I don't know if they were ever in the kit or if they were lost when Lindberg got the molds. Today was the first I heard about it myself. Maybe someone more familiar with the kit or our resident MCM Truck builder and Box artist for this kit Tim Alhborn might know. -Steve
  22. The '40 Ford kit the comes with the L-700 and Flatbed Trailer does have at at least some of the Street Rod and Police Car version parts if not all of them from the 3n1 kit version. Although none of the optional parts are shown on that particular instruction sheet. FYI, I was just advised that the L-700 Truck only kit is now available, and that they cleaned up the tooling to fix the excess flash and restored the missing signal lenses. -Steve
  23. Tom, Looks like your paint finish came out real nice and you nailed that color. Steve
  24. Nice work Zoli !!! ....what could be better then having your 1:1 reference material sitting in your own garage. -Steve
  25. If it's the factory correct '69 Chevy color that would be code 59 Frost Green Metallic. It's also called Limelight Green Metallic on Pontiac's MCW stocks it for airbrush use. I'm not sure if there's a Hobby Shop spray bomb equivalent. -Steve
