  1. The Texas DSP Charger once it's finished will be on loan to Lindberg for use as Box Art and or as a Display model at I-Hobby Expo next month. I've got multiples going in case they need another one last minute or something gets broken or I just plain mess something up. If they don't need the extras I'll build my own versions. I've already built two others, a Philly PA Expressway Patrol unit also on loan to Lindberg and a CHP "Ghost" Charger as test build made from some early prototype parts they sent me. The kit will come with a push bar as shown on the Philly car as an optional part.
  2. These are just some of the parts I have primed and or painted, I still have another two boxes full of parts and a rack of plated parts on the way. I wonder how many I'll get finished between now and I-Hobby Expo? -Steve
  3. Well done Zoli .... !!! The paint color looks close to B5 blue (at least on my monitor) which is my all-time favorite Mopar color. -Steve
  4. That's some great background information on the Philly PD, thanks for sharing !!! If you don't have one already, get yourself a free photo sharing account with Fotki, Flickr or one of the many others to upload your scanned photos to. -Steve
  5. Chris, You did a great job with that one. I've seen some of R&R's Ambulances at shows and I can only imagine the work that went into finishing that. Steve
  6. If it didn't bite into the finishing you mave be able to wetsand it out with a 3200 polish pad. You could also try a little enamel thinner with a Q-tip. If you've already polished and waxed the body your going to have trouble applying paint again as most of those products will cause fish eyes. Next time you need paint a headliner after the body use Modelmaster acylics and brush paint it. Clean up is a breeze and you won't have worry about leak through.
  7. Now that a new Police Car kit is almost here hopefully the Aftermarket guys will step up with new decals sheets to use with them. Steve
  8. Greg, Hopefully by late this fall if all goes well, the tooling is 98% approved and ready. They're down to the box art and decals etc ... If there's room I'll try to get them to add some additonal numbers to the decal sheet like X23. If not, Billbozo decals has it on his Philly sheet which worked great for me. If you have any photos of your Dad's old patrol cars I would love to see them. Steve
  9. As far as I know they will all be molded in white and unpainted just like the Super Bee kits. The engine is the 5.7 litre just like in the Testors RT kits. I left the dress up cover off as that's how most of the Police Package cars are equipped. The cover is included for those who want to use it. -Steve
  10. Well done Chris !!! .... I hope the one I have on my workbench ends up looking that good. Steve
  11. Hopefully this fall if it all goes well.... Keep your fingers crossed !! -Steve
  12. I think part of it is the angle the spotlights are molded at, it also may be up a little high on the windshield post. The good part is there is no location hole so you can mount it where you want. Here's a photo of my CHP "Ghost Charger" I used the side mirror as my reference point for mounting the spotlights. Since it's not being used as box art I was able to add some extra details like the antennas and a push bar mounted siren. Note how much nicer the production hub caps look compared to the first prototypes on the CHP model. -Steve
  13. .... and here are the wheel choices, the ones on the left represent the full wheel covers that some agencies use.
  14. Sure .... here ya go .... This is with the full equipment minus the deck lamps, the stock rear seat is included for those cruisers which don't use the molded prisoner seat. -Steve
  15. ..... here's some photos of the Philly PD box art model. This was built from a 98% production ready test shot. I'm waiting on a Lindberg to make a couple of very minor fixes to the tooling and it will get my blessing to go with it. All the Charger Police Car kits will have the same basic equipment and you choose which parts to install. There will be two sets of side mirrors, deck lamps, push bar and lamps, 2 chrome spot lights, two sets of wheels (three with the leftover Super Bee wheels) stock or prisoner rear seats and a prisoner divider. Also a Radio Equipment console and the correct dash mounted shifter. Oh yea, 8 different lightbars. Only the decals will be and box art will be different. The blank car is supposed to get some generic police decals too. I believe the leftover stock console and floor shifter will also will be included for those who want to build a soft unit or a civilian car. Separate door side mouldings are included too. -Steve
  16. One comes with the plated tanker, the other is molded in white. Here's the catalog photos. -Steve
  17. The Plated Tankers will be next, Lindberg is waiting on the chrome parts to arrive. Most like by next month. The Skelly Tankers are after that. -Steve
  18. Here's some photo of the built 32 Roadsters including all of them posed with the original Box Art. I used the the original artwork as inspiration for the current box art models. As you can see they were originally motorized and these models are very crude in comparison to todays models. For those who are old enough to have built this kit as kid it I think it certainly has a nostalgic value to it. Hopefully I'm not the only who feels that way about them. -Steve
  19. I just opened one of the 34 pick up's and it's molded in nice white plastic and as far as I know all the latest releases are modld in white. -Steve
  20. Yes, stay tuned for a couple of days for a separate posting regarding the Chargers Police Cars. -Steve
  21. As far as I know, that's still coming. The release was delayed as the overseas tool maker apparently had trouble with the crushed car concept. I'll add it to my list of stuff to check up on. ( Funny, I thought the Chinese could copy anything, I guess that doesn't include our Junk !!!) -Steve
  22. ....also the 34 Ford Pickup 3n1 (old AMT tool), the 32 Ford Hot Rod Roadster (a very early Lindberg tool) and the Dyno Don 61 Impala SS (reissue). The 1/16th scale Stutz and Mercedes Racers were released a few weeks ago. The L-700 with Box Trailer has a few new goodies as you get three unassembled paletts (new tooling) molded in tan and some thin cardstock with 6 large and 3 small boxes printed on them along with 1 small insert of Little Red Wagon kit box tops. The boxes need to be cut out, folded and glued. Also new decals with the Lindberg logos, US Flags and Made in the USA slogan. Kit is molded in nice bright white plastic, clear windows and lenses and a plated tree for the L700 cab. I haven't opened any of the other Kit samples yet but I'll post photos and info of anything I find that's new. -Steve
  23. I was told these MPC kits are being packaged for the bigger retailers with the younger builders in mind and some will be molded in colors. Per the Round 2 website the Daytona is molded in Red, the 67 GTO is In Blue, both of the Duke Mopars will be molded in white. I also see the 72 GTO is now on the list and will be molded in Orange. They will also be releasing 8 AMT kits also molded in various colors for the same retailers. Not a big deal in my eyes as at least the AMT kits are common so I can still get all the non-molded in color kits I want. -Steve
  24. Well done Chris !!!! ...... you're definately the Ambulance King. -Steve
  25. Well done Ron !!!
