  1. Looking for someone who knows Roger Sills and has current contact info. Thanks !!! Steve
  2. I believe Art Anderson mentioned in a post on another board that he's seen the Hudson Hornet prototype model and he thought it looked great. Maybe if we're lucky we can get Dave Metzner to post some photos of it here like he did with the Lonestar the other day.
  3. I'd say it's a safe bet that the 2010 Mustang GT is the first of many versions we'll see of this kit. I suspect there's more variations of the 72 Olds tooling coming too. I'm glad for the uptop addition although I always display my convertibles top down. -Steve
  4. This is straight from Revell's Website, I don't have any inside information on these. You can download the brochure yourself if you would like your own copy, just click on the link. Revell Fall 2010 brochure Enjoy !!! -Steve

  6. Nick, I'll be watching for your progress on it. In the December issue there is an article with photos of '68 Ford LTD sedan. Maybe you can post a question in the "Ask Model Cars" section and get more details on how it was done. That one would make for a great "Dirty Harry" Ford Sedan. -Steve
  7. Well, It's finally finished. I thought this project would have gone much faster considering it's a curbside kit but I kept finding more to do with it. If you haven't seen the Movie in a while, this is the one that is used in the first half, not the one that get wrecked at the end. That was a Blue Custom 500. FYI, I'm not color blind, the Movie car is really Green with a Blue interior, I'm guessing it was a factory freak that Ford was happy to provide. Either that or the studio repainted it as the bad cop's car was painted Blue. Either way I figured if "Dirty Harry" didn't have a problem with why should I? A good man always knows his limitations... right ! To see the complete build up just follow the link below. Magnum Force 72 Ford build up Thanks for looking !!! -Steve
  8. Very nice Tom !!! .... I can't wait to see it in person. Looks like your trying to give Bill B. a run for his money in the weathering dept. -Steve
  9. This is probably the last mockup before the final detail and assembly. The bumpers and grille are still loose as they're not detailed yet. I'm going to add a outside mirror, hubcaps, correct plates and at least one antenna. The Motorola style radio is from the Hobby Heaven issue of the AMT 70 Ford Police car and the Mic is a leftover from a Charger test shot. Feel free to comment or make suggestions. There's more photos at the link below. Thanks for looking !! -Steve Magnum Force build up
  10. My guess is either it was a factory freak that Ford was happy to donate to the studio for consideration or they decided to repaint one in bright color for film visibility. Whichever it was I still wanted to try and match it. The paint I used was custom mixed in PPG lacquer to Ford's code 4B Bright Green Gold Metallic which looked like a match to the Movie Car. It's probably available from MCW or from other sources who do factory match colors. -Steve
  11. It's been a while since I updated this so I'll bring it up to date. I captured some more photos from Magnum Force DVD. This is probably the best overall shot and it shows the side trim well. I'm glad I held off painting it until I double checked. I went ahead and added the rocker and wheel trim with some evergreen strip. I had to feather back the primer coats as I didn't want to chance the trim not sticking. I finally got some color on the body to the point were I'm happy with it. After the first couple of coats there was too much dirt in it to be acceptable so I put it aside to let it dry overnight. I then sanded it out with a 3200 polishing cloth wet, re-masked it and I shot a couple of more color coats on it. It's not perfect but it's much better now. The one thing about using Automotive laqcuer is it's forgiving enough to let you fix your painting sins. I see my "high tech" paint stand is looking pretty rough. I guess I'll have to dig up another piece of scrap wood and sacrifice another cloths hanger for the cause. I took almost two weeks but I finally managed to get the foil trim work done and clear coats applied. Boy they had some bright colors in the 70's. I think this may qualify the for the worlds ugliest unmarked Police Car award. Anyway, I'm going to let the paint gas out for a week or so then I'll denib and polish it up. I also decided to add some seatbelt detail to the interior. The buckles are Model Car Garage and the belts are painted masking tape. Besides adding some interest they do a good job of hiding where the seat castings were a little rough. I see there's still some grinding dust to clean up from where I opened up the locating holes. I'm glad I held off on painting the dash because I needed to clearance it for windshield to fit. That going to be my next project along with painting and detailing the wheels. More to come ..... -Steve
  12. I don't have any info new info on the Hemi Dart but rumor has it the the 62 Chevy Impala HT is getting close to being released. I thought the test shot of it I saw at I-Hobby Expo looked very good. I think Round2 really missed the boat by not doing it first based on the Convertible kit. -Steve
  13. Risto, It's easy to post them, just click on the share photo option in Fotki and cut and paste the link into the add photo option. Here's some of the photos of Juha's amazing 71 Delta 88. Boy does he set the bar high !!!
  14. This will be the Green Gold 72 Ford from the movie that was used in the early scenes, not the one wrecked at the end. This is the best photo that I have so far. I originally thought that it was a Custom or Custom 500 but now that I look at the few photos I have I now think it's a Galaxie 500 Sedan. I going to watch the movie again and capture some stills to be sure. This means I'll be adding some trim to the rockers and around the wheel openings. I guess I'm not ready for paint yet ... I didn't paint the dash yet as I need to add some pedals and column levers. The interior trim is correct for a base Custom but not the Galaxie 500. I'm going to leave it as is though and just detail it to match best I can. Stay tuned for more this weekend .... -Steve
  15. No news but here's some photos of the built up that was at I-Hobby Expo last fall. I say It looks pretty darn good to me. I'm sure I'll be buying at least one. Hopefully we'll get a full review from Bill and Len before it's released. -Steve
  16. My sample has very little flash on the cab parts and is molded in nice bright white plastic. There are still no numbers on the trees, same as the original IMC version. The cab instructions have photos of all the parts and a number on each part. Some of the cab illustrations are a little small. The trailer instructions are easier to read and include a duplicate French version. No trailer parts number guide that I saw. -Steve
  17. Some just had a simple metal nameplate in the side window like "Mooney and Sons Ambulance Service" back in the days when most were privately run. Nice work Chris, that came out great !!! -Steve
  18. Yes ......, I like !!!!!
  19. Nice projects Terry !!! That looks like the body from the original Revell SnapTite Police car kit. Is there something else? I see there are several projects of yours that I would like to do especially the Adam 12 car. AMT/Ertl should have done that one with their 68 Roadrunner tooling along time ago. Keep the photos coming !!! -Steve
  20. Lookin' real good Tom ..... are you going for a weathered look or are you going to clear coat it?
  21. ..... I was so busy trying to get my Mustang CJ project done I forgot about the package I got from Lindberg last week. This is a production sample just released so they should be in stores any day now if they're not already. All the chromed tanker parts are in bags. The Skelly painted tanker version is already out, it was released at the begining of the month. -Steve
  22. I'm still waiting for an update myself. Last official word was they working on couple of minor issues but that was several months ago. I'll keep on asking until I get an answer. -Steve
  23. Well done Zoli .... I guess you can make a silk purse out of a sows ear. I looked those over at the last Toy Show I was at but passed because I thought they would need a lot of work to make a decent model out them, IMHO. You made it look easy. Steve
  24. I managed to get this done just in time to give this to my Friend Jim on Christmas Eve day. It's a Replica of his car which is currently getting freshened up to become a fun summer time driver. To me it looks like he doing a concours restoration. Anyway, I built it as a Thank You for some restoration work he did on my Firebird Formula recently. This was built mostly out of the box but I added a few things to match his car. The C6 Automatic, shifter and brake pedal are from the AMT Fairlane GTA kit. I used the interior from a Diecast Bullett kit so I didn't have to wait for the correct interior from Revell. used a combination of the kit and Keith Marks Decals plus some tire and underhood markings from the Revell 70 Torino GT. I also shaved of all the bumper guards and the front license plate bracket. I would have had the bumpers replated if I had more time but I used some BMF to hide the trimmed areas instead. I found a parts box antenna to match the power unit on his car. A rare option according to Jim. guess I did a good job of keeping it a surprise as Jim had no idea what I was up to. He was thrilled to get it and told me this will probably be the best present he's getting this year. Needless to say I was sure glad he liked it. Thanks for looking !!! -Steve P.S. if your interested in some of the in-progress pics just follow the link 68 Mustang CJ project
  25. ....... the interior is now complete, I added a foil copied shifter housing from the MCP 73 Cougar kit. The wide brake pedal is from the Failane GTA. I also made a correct back seat backrest using some suggestion from the board and used some black flocking for carpet. The engine is also complete with the addition of the fan belt, drive accessories and the correct CJ air cleaner. If you're building one too leave the air cleaner loose until the final assembly. I added a painted low gloss black stripe to the hood and cowl panel. Blacked out the window trim edges and installed the rear view mirror ang glass. The bumpers and lamps are installed too. The body is now also ready for the final assembly and decals. I've been working on this past midnight almost every night but it was worth it. I managed to get it delivered and over to my friend Jim before he closed his shop for Christmas. It was a surprise present for him as thank you for some restoration work he did for me. I'll post more details on it along with the finished photos this weekend. Thanks for looking !!! -Steve
