Movie car trivia
FujimiLover replied to FujimiLover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Okay back on topic. What car did Rockford Files drive? -
Nice collection of wheels man! And thank's for the comment on the Dnano's. I've been with the Mini-Z's since day one and I still like them, but I am much more fond of the smaller 1/43 Dnano's at the moment. I've been thinking of getting back into the Mini-Z's with their AWD's pretty soon as racing season is about to start at our local club. I'll probably go with the Subaru WRX model to go with my Dnano version! Next week I'll be receiving the Countach Dnano! Should look killer!

Don't be swayed by what Discovery/History Channel drivels on about--that's Hollywood trying to define reality! Art

Nothing major will happen in 2012 that we can't get through. I still plan on living to be 150, and I'm only 35! I hope by 2012 I will have completed my Koenig model's! Not sure it means anything or not, but has anybody noticed how time seems to be going faster and faster? I know everybody's perception of time varies, and it depends on how busy you are, but even still. It just seems like the day's, week's, month's, and years are going faster and faster. That alone gives me a little concern. If anybody is familiar with British Sci-Fi comedy Red Dwarf, they have a great episode called Backwards. This is where two characters Rimmer and Kryten go through a time hole and enter another Earth. On this Earth, the theory is that the Big Bang has reached it's end and started reversing. This naturally caused everything on this strange Earth to go backwards. People walking backwards, cars driving backwards, bicyclists riding backwards, people stuffing their faces with food, "reverse eating", and what not. One of the best episodes I've seen. Their theory again was the reverse of the Big Bang called the Big Crunch where time goes back to the beginning. Could happen? Again, won't happen in 2012, but only time will tell! Sorry, just had to toss that in.

Movie car trivia

I thought they were close, but wasn't sure which was which. I don't know my American cars as well as my import's. Thank's guys! -
Nice, I like that! Yep, that wing was definitely available for the 89 CRX. And in one of those big European style tuner magazines, I can't recall if it was Max Power, Fast Cars, or what, but there was a sweet silver CRX that had the Mugen Pro.2 body kit, and that Cosworth wale-tail on it and the combo was superb! I was in love and jealous with it cause I also had a silver Si and wanted that kit so bad.

Got a question for you Dodge fan's. If there are any out there, LOL! Is the car that Happy Gilmore drove, the same car that Al Bundy had? Remember that gold colored Dodge? Look's the same to me.

Your Very First Real Car
FujimiLover replied to FujimiLover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That is a sad yet almost funny story. I wonder if your cousins were laughing at you for making the same mistakes they made? Gravel road is tricky, I always feel nervous when driving on it for some reason. Even though I'm very careful not to induce over steer! -
Now that is one Corvette people will certainly die for! It needs flames though!

Real or Model #106 FINISHED!
FujimiLover replied to Harry P.'s topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
Yea I was right! Can't wait for next week's game! -
I was home alone that day while my parents were out on a cruise ship. I was getting my self ready to go to tech-school that morning when my Aunt called and told me to turn on the news. I was so horrified I didn't go to school rest of that week. Sent lot's of e-mail's to my parents, and had lot's of calls with my brother. At first he thought it was an advertisement for some upcoming movie with some pretty radical special effects, then he soon realized how real it was. That was one of the hardest weeks I've gone through. I was pretty shaken up for a while that something like that happened here at home. I still cringe when I see video's of that day. I also remembered how erie the sky was that day and the day after when all flight's were cancelled. I think it was also recorded that without any air-travel of any kind allowed that day, the Earth cooled down like 1 or 2 degrees? I also remember President Bush's face when he got the news while attending some school event.

I have the soundtrack to the remake and was disappointed that War's Lowrider was not in there. Danny played that song for them before they started their boost's. My favorite song from the soundtrack was Stop The Rock as I mentioned before. Awesome song and goes really well with Ferris Bueller's song, "Oh Yea" from Yello.

I like those old Cosworth's. The ONLY Ford cars I liked at the time, still like today. I read some where that those cars that had the wale-tail had less MPG than those with the tail. Plus, the ones with the tail were stolen more frequently than those without the tale. Thus, car insurance was higher on the wale-tailed Cosworth's. Back when I had my 88 CRX Si, I had once obtained a Cosworth style wale-tail that was made for the Honda's, but nobody in my area knew how to fit it. So, my car never had one. Which was a pitty really cause it made the CRX look pretty sweet!

Uhhhh, what's up with your signatures buddy? LOL! -
I just received in the mail today my third 1/43 scale Dnano RC car. This time, the Porsche 911 GT3! Just mounted on some white wheels and new tires for it. Here are my three Dnano's together! Next one coming soon will be a red Lamborghini Countach LP 500!

LOL! Not big and obnoxious enough!

Nice, look's like the rear whale-tail is from the Ford Escort Cosworth model? I had one on an 89 CRX a while back.

I'd like to find that kit and build the KS version! -

FujimiLover replied to B_rad88's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I wouldn't mind turning one into a KS model if I can find a kit. It'll go nicely along with my KS 500. -
Do we already have too many build-off's going? Or are you guy's ready for two more? First, this idea came to me from Kustom's thread about those crazy Japanese-tuner cars with wings and tails large enough to have a picknick on. Call it the Bozosuku build-off! Here's the idea. Take any car you want, doesn't matter what it is, and build it into one of these wild rides. You can use any material you want to build up the body kit's. Paper, plastic, putty, whatever. Give it the wildest paint job you can think of. And go crazy with the exhaust pipes! Second idea, is Death Race build-off. Again take any car you want and just simply give it armor plating and weapons! Who's on?

Well in that case, it does count! But I was referring to these special single digit dates like today! Remember when people were nervous about 06/06/06? LOL! We human's are stupid aren't we? LOL!

I believe our favorite tuner, "Koenig-Specials" tuned up one of these Jaguar's. Not too bad to! Check out their web site. This was back in the 80's when they were really cooking! Yep, here it is, and it look's like it's in my special gray color too! -
What year was it that Mcfly travled to in the future and picked up the Sports Almanac? I think the Chicago Cubs won a world series then didn't they? LOL! And don't forget what's special about today folks! 09/09/09. This is the last date where we will have consecutive digits like this. We've had 01/01/01, 02/02/02/, 03/03/03, and so on up till today. Not sure if 10/10/10 counts, but that's what's been on the net all day yesterday about today's special date. We won't see that kind of date for centuries!

Real or Model #106 FINISHED!
FujimiLover replied to Harry P.'s topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
Tires look good, undercarriage from what can be seen look's good. Lot's of nice details. Either real, or another really big big model, like 1/6 scale. I'm going to gamble and say real on this one. This is real. -
Your Very First Real Car
FujimiLover replied to FujimiLover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I often wonder what happened to our old gems. My Dad and I often think about a classic Buick that my Dad used to have. I remember it was a pearl white "bomber" of some sort. Don't recall what year or what model but I do remember we had traded it in for my brother's first gold-colored Mazda RX7. This was the first generation RX7 sport's cars. If we still had that Buick today, I bet I'd be turning it into a classic Hot-Rod by now! Sometimes we think that somebody out there has done just that to our beloved Buick! LOL!
