WOW, that is nice! What kind of plastic is that? Does not look like the plastic we're used to in modeling. Can you do any car? What's the price tag? I'm sure it varies with scale.

Next offering from Tamiya?

It look's like they cut the entire lower half of the body off and added wings! I usually like cars of this style, but I don't like this one. -
Some interior suggestion's
FujimiLover replied to FujimiLover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Okay guy's. Today I visited my local Hobby Lobby store and checked out there selection of Krylon paint's. I came across some interesting colors for interior ideas. Some samples are cinnamon, nutmeg, some sort of dark gray although it look's too close to the exterior color, a few dark greens, and what not. I'll post pic's of the paint selection soon. I also noticed they had some "chrome" paint. But not sure if it's really chrome-like, or more of that silver color that pretends to be chrome. Zoom Zoom, your suggestion's are helpful even if the gray's are different. Please don't feel offended as I like everybody's suggestion's. One thing I did not notice about these paint's, is what type they were. I did not see "enamel" listed anywhere on there so I don't know if they'd work on our plastic's. They all say wood, metal, et'c, but no mention of plastic's. Again, I will post pic's of the paint choices later when I plug in my Iphone. -
You have to look harder at the corners of the hood and you can clearly see the C/F pattern. Nice job! Very well done! You sure have done your Civic duty!

Nice work there and thanks'. But the gray I'm using is darker than that. Here is a sample pic of the color I'll be using. Not exactly gun-metal, but a metallic gray. Never mind the dust on there..................... -

Thank you, I will. I was interested in this P/E kit since it was specifically for these cars. I might consider flocking, but I'll probably practice on one of my junked projects interiors first before diving head first into the Koenig. I'm just thinking of way's to really make the interior pop since as I said, being a convertible you'll see a lot more of the inside than we did with the hard top version. Since I know I'll be using very easy to deal with paint on the outside, the focus and concentration will be spent on the interior. I'd really like this one to count! -

Thanks again fellas. I also noticed while cruising Hobby Link Japan, that somebody made a P/E kit specifically for these Koenig Specials Competition "Testarossa" models and I'm wondering if there worth while having for the convertible. I'll grab the picture and post it here. Price seems reasonable, don't know how many they have in stock, and I'm nervous about such tiny parts. Particularly seat belt hardware! Besides that, how would I shave down the molded sea t belts that are on these cars? I've never done anything like that before. Also, what can I use for the belts them selves for a more realistic look? I'm sure I'll be going over my head on this one, but being that it's a convertible, should be as realistic as possible since we're seeing a lot more of the interior than on the previous model I built. Right? Here's the picture of the P/E kit. Never knew these existed till last night! Price around $25 I think it was. -
^^^^^^^Nice choices^^^^^^^ Come on in!

Some interior suggestion's

I was thinking of doing just the typical all red interior that most of these KS cars have. Pure red on metallic gray? Yummy! But at the same time, seems too common. I guess common cause it look's so good together? -

Thank's guy's. I don't want to do any flocking as that stuff is messy and unless one has plenty of experience with the stuff it can look pretty awful. dont As you know, I still use rattle-can's so I'd need something that would be in that form. -
look's like a church-organ sticking out the engine!

Yea, but there's a wide rang of tan as well. Was considering looking into some military colors. -
Also look's like rust in the engine lid's gap's there!

Hello there. I'm tempted to start building my Koenig Specials Competition Spyder model pretty soon, probably going to start this week. I've thought about copying my coupe version, but decided being a convertible, it should be different. So, I'm going to paint the body that same metallic gray I painted my RX7 with which is a nice custom mixed metallic gray paint that I had purchased to paint a tail on my Airwolf fuselage. It's a very nice color, and the can sprays very nice, smooth and easy. Question is, what color should the interior be? Being that it's convertible, you'll see more of the interior than the hardtop version. I've had a few ideas, but none just seem right. I thought about pure white, but that'll look too plasticy. Suggestions please? Thank you!

Real or Model #104 FINISHED!
FujimiLover replied to Harry P.'s topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
WOW, good one Harry. The right/hand job fooled us all I think even though I never noticed what side wheel was on first time I looked at it. LOL! Can't wait for next weeks! This is fun, even if I get it wrong! -
If you don't mind me saying, great conversion and all. Plus! I think the paint's finish goes well with the car's era. Look's like an old Vette that's been sitting in the sun to long and the paint started to peal. I like it!

Most Stolen Cars Nationwide

I was looking forward to the release of the 2010 Insight, but after seeing it, UGH! Way too much of a Prius clone, must be Chinese and not Japanese as we all know China's known for cloning. Anybody seen the dashboard of the new Insight? What the hell are they thinking? Ugly! I was really disappointed with Honda, they took a good looking, unique car and made it into a copy cat. Honda, you should be ashamed of your self! I understand the need for a four seat four door, but couldn't you come up with your own design? What's wrong with just stretching the 2001 model? Or do it Mazda RX8 style where the rear doors a shorter, and open suicide like? Okay, enough of my rambling on. Sorry, you had to mention the 2010 model! The 2001 though is cool, reminds me of the Back to The Future part II cars! ......................wait a minute, what was the topic again? Oh yea, most stolen cars! -

Toyota Prius, way too many of them. As much Prius's as there are StarBuck's on every corner! LOL! And don't say anything about the 2001 Honda Insight! It's a darn fine car, very unique and the beginner of the hybrid generation! -

How about a list of cars we wish got stolen cause there so ugly they don't belong on the street? -
While I like Ed O'niel, I think he was a bit dull in Dragnet. Okay, to make this build-off grow, ANY crime-busting, investigating private-investigating investigator's can join in on the fun. Everybody from Batman to Colombo to Inspector Gadget.
-
I guess it all depends on how you look at it. A lot of those characters claim that their not cops, their private investigators. I suppose it depends on how they conduct their business really. Magnum was more PI than police, and I think PI's are slightly different than detectives. I would think detectives would be more like a police officer in that they have a group they work with. Think of modern day detectives like Law and Order, my favorite detective is played by Vincent Denafrio, but can't recall the character's name off hand. Gorden and Eve's is it? Anyway, PI's, detectives, anybody who is under cover is welcome. Thank's for your interest's guy's. Let's keep this rolling and keep'em coming! I'd like to see this pan out better than the C.R. build-off did.

Sorry, I only remember the 80's and maybe late 70's re-run's. What was that show with Ed O'niel before he was on Married With Children? Or was it after, I can't recall. I think it was also a detective show.
