FujimiLover replied to Marc @ MPC Motorsports's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
WOW, those wheels are delicious! I need to order a set but not sure what car to put'em on. Wonder how they'd fit the Smart? -
WOW that turned out pretty sweet! Nice silky smooth yellow finish and the black stripes really stand out well! Awesome!

Best Pearl White
FujimiLover replied to FujimiLover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thank's guys, I will try that on a spare body before messing up a body I want to do. -
I wish to repaint a Murcielago body I have from pearl green to pearl white. What's the best pearl-white available in rattle-can? I know, I don't have an airbrush yet and it'll be a while before getting one. I've tried a pearl white from Testors I think and it was almost a flat-white, didn't really have a nice look to it. What about their one-coat can's? Please, I'd like some suggestions on how to get a nice smooth, glossy shiny pearl white finish. BTW, this is a 1/43 scale plastic body I'm considering repainting. I love the pearl green that's already on there, but I still keep seeing pearl white. Any suggestions? Thank you!

How to make lexan RC bodies out of die-cast models.

Thank you, how would you best prep the body for that? -
How good a driver are you?

LOL! Just today I was pulling out of my aunt's driveway. I forgot to go all the way back before turning in and I hit there mail-box. Fortunetly, I was doing maybe 0.5 MPH so no damage whatsoever. So, I guess I'm not perfect, but I like to think I'm better than the guy next to me at the light! Imagine if I had reversed quickly! -

My Dad and I find our selves "teaching" other drivers. What I mean is when we drive into town, we watch other people drive and we comment to our selves. One thing annoys us and another one makes us laugh. We find it annoying when there is clearly a turn-in lane for drivers to politely merge into traffic with. Yet, some people just don't see that and wait for what seems like hours for traffic to clear. Or, there are those that don't wait and just zoom across all lanes to get to the far side. What makes us laugh, is people in parking lot's. Why is it, that people are so locked in their heads about reversing out of a parking space when they can clearly pull forward when the spot in front of theme is empty? We always park in a way that we can drive straight out as we find it much easier than trying to reverse. Several accidents have accord from reversing out of a parking spot in the parking lot's. Even my Insight got a nice little square dent from a truck who couldn't see me as he backed out. Drivers should take tests more frequently to keep up to date with their skills, knowledge, and over all good manners. I think it's another reason why local stores are going out of business. People are fed up with road rage and would rather stay home shopping on-line than having some jerk cut them off. Sorry for my rambling, I'll go take that test...................... Okay, well, according to the test I'm a bad driver, I failed at 44%! But, that's not real life situations, and some of the questions were confusing especially about the red/green cars. I've never had an accident in my life, I've had very few tickets, and I try my best to be a polite driver. I don't believe much in those tests, I believe more in real life situations. That's just me. -
Real or Model #103 FINISHED!
FujimiLover replied to Harry P.'s topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
Wow, 1/8 huh? I didn't know the Mclaren was available in that scale. As for driving in the middle, I think it would be the ideal date-car. You in the middle, a blond on the left, and a brunet on the right! -
I love the 1/43 scale in die-cast, and my Kyosho Dnano's, but for slot car racing 1/32 is best indeed. You guy's have forgotten to mention AutoArt. AutoArt makes some very sweet Lamborghini and Ferrari models, some of which have detailed interiors. One of my favorites is their white Lamborghini Countach. Very awesome details! Go with 1/32, any other scale just doesn't cut it.

Nice model indeed! I like it when the wheels are color-matched to the car like that! I'm curious about your GPS system in the dash, it appears to be lighted from behind, is it a special glow decal or something? Or just very vibrant? Look's like it's back-lit!

Hi there. I find the decals and window trim the two hardest parts to get right. Some companies decals seem to be stronger than others. The decals on my Fujimi Koenig models probably wore out some with age, but I've always had difficulty with them tearing just trying to get'em in the right position! As for the window trims, I found it easier to mask off the surrounding areas with blue tape and carefully paint by hand. Should also mention not to have too much caffeine before hand as that can cause the shake's to come! The worst decals for me are the KS window banners. They seem to be the most delicate and I keep forgetting to clear coat the window's before assembling them. My KS window banners usually start to peal up and brake away from dust and dry climate. Just keep on building and enjoy each one. The more you do, each one will get better than the last. I'm lousy at scratch-building, and I admire those that can scratch-build anything they can dream of. I see it so perfectly in my mind, I see my self putting it together so 100% perfectly, but in reality, it never look's the way I dreamed it. It must've taken me several tries over the past 15 some years to finally perfect my all time favorite super car, the Koenig Specials Competition Testarossa. I am very proud of my Italian Red paint job even though it's got some flaws in it as well. It's still my best one and I'm pleased with it. We are our own worst critic for sure. Sometimes that can be a good thing to drive us to do better, sometimes, it can bring us down. Important thing, is to keep going with what you enjoy doing. If you don't enjoy it for some reason, move on to something else and come back. Some times being away from the hobby helps as well and you tend to amaze your self with your next project!

Hello there. I'm considering the possibilities of having a few 1/43 scale Lamborghini Murcielago Dnano bodies gold-plated. I've chated with ChromeTechUSA and he said he can do it for around $50 buck's including some chassis parts. I have a few questions regarding this. First, he said the gold-plated body would not be that durable for racing. Can you clear-coat over the gold and would that help protect it? What clear coat do you recommend most via rattle-can? Also, can I paint flat-black trim over it with good results? The car wouldn't look right if it was all gold with no details. Also, it would be less fun having it just sit on the shelf. Either way, I'm thinking about doing it just because it'll look hot! What do you guy's think? Can I clear-coat over gold-plated parts and will that help make it more durable? Same question for chromed parts.

I'm curious, what color was that body molded in? I've always had trouble with yellow and that just look's so silky smooth! Last time I did a yellow car it was a Japanese kit of some sort, can't recall the name as it wasn't Fujimi, it wasn't Asoshima, but it was the BMW M3 Compact car and it came molded in yellow. Very similar style as your Ferrari, yellow with matching wheels. I just simply clear coated the yellow plastic, but it still didn't come anywhere near as good as yours. Very nice indeed! I would love to get a yellow that smooth. . . . . . . . . . . . .

And don't forget the film-crew's caterers! LOL! How is that survival? -
Hello there. As some of you know, I'm a big fan of Kyosho's hot new 1/43 scale Dnano RC cars. 1/43 is an awesome scale cause there are infinite number of cars to choose from. However, about 90% of them are die-cast. Die-cast is way too heavy for RC car use. One can use light-plastic as found in our model kit's, or more commonly used for RC's is lexan. I am curious as to how to take a die-cast model, and make a lexan body shell out of the car. Then, how would I go about making the necessary decals/stickers for the body details? I wouldn't want to paint in all that window trim, headlights, taillights et'c. I could use the original cars parts to add detail to the lexan version, what do you suggest? Is there an easy DIY way of making this? I think it would be pretty cool to be able to make my own lexan body out of any 1/43 die-cast model. Perhaps make enough of theme to sell to other Dnano users. Is this possible?

Good point Mr. Mike and I'll again refer to the Transformers movie as being a big add for Apple and GM, and I noticed the F&F movies, except for Tokyo Drift, were ad's for Corona Beer. These day's, Dad and I just mute the advertisements. It is nice to have the ability to fast forward through the commercials though when watching recorded stuff. -

I am sure there were plenty of unhappy "customers" and those probably just didn't make air-time. Unless you had a choice of how you want your car done, you get whatever you receive. I wonder if some of those un-liked cars were later sold off or traded in. -
Okay you highway scoff-laws and degenerates, let's keep this thing on the road. This is a build-off not a quote-off! As funny and hilarious as they are, let's get back on track please? Thank you! "You wait till he touches that lighter..............."

I like it when the chimp gives the old Granny the finger. The Granny gives the arms-up solute back to the chimp causing her to swerve and crash into the tire store. The guy comes out and asks, "Can I help you ma'am?" And Granny replies with the finger! LOL!

The best one was when Fenderbam and Blake drove off leaving JJ and Victor with a flat. "Ooo, JJ, we got a flat! And those priests weren't fathers," JJ-"They were?" "Mothers, oh geeze!" LOL! "Mad Dog, you are going to take a short cut to the interstate aren't yea?" "We're here to win ain't we? If your going to be a bear! Be a grizzly!"

Yes, I realized a big connection between C.R. and S.A.T.B, particularly J.J. Mclures mention of the black Trans Am. "Next year we're going for the n,n, n, n,........." as he was trying to pronounce noble peace price in the bloopers. I liked the chemistry between Burt and Dom and I think they only did those three movies together. Both Cannonballs and the second Smoky. I didn't realize Victor's reference to swamp fever was linked. Lot's of interesting notes and thank you for sharing. "WHAT IN THE HELL WAS THAT?" "Oh, that must've been the entry for the national safety comity.". Another one while in bar. "Aren't you afraid that milk is going to curdle when it hit's your liver?" "My liver died three years ago!"

"Terrorist's my dimpled azz. These guy's make terrorists look like Sisters of Charity. These guy's are Cannonballers!" "What is that a bowling team?"
