I was referring to the "KID" at the end of your username! LOL! Nice set of models there manngunn. The second one reminds me of those two characters going over a bump that flipped the hood open and in front of the windshield. "I can't see $hi! can you!" "No problem son, no problem!" LOL! Funny! Then it was primered after that. Thank's for sharing!

Real or Model #99 FINISHED!
FujimiLover replied to Harry P.'s topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
I guess we should all do more homework before casting in our votes. I mean, do we just aim blind when we vote for our presidents? No, we research it first. Granted this is just for fun and by no means as important as who our pres will be. But point is, homework first will/should give us better chances of winning! It would be nice if Harry could at least give us the name of the vehicle in question so we can do our research. Or is playing guessing game half the fun of it? Anyway, I'll be looking forward to next weeks ROM! -
Real or Model #99 FINISHED!
FujimiLover replied to Harry P.'s topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
I think the guy above me is right. Neither real nor a scale model. I bet it's a CG car. We shall soon see who's right, and who is WRONG! -
I was just watching a Tivo'd episode of Super Cars Exposed where Tanner visited Italy and he drove that yellow Ferrari. Very awesome and I love the black accents. As stated in other threads, I generally absolutely hate yellow cars. But, I love the yellow on Ferraris, and I love the pearl yellow found on the Murcielago's. Only two exceptions for my hatred of yellow. Awesome car and I can't wait to see your model finished. And what red did you use on the Koenig Testarossa? I used Tamiyas TS-8 Italian Red on mine pictured in my avatar.

Slightly off topic, but I still see 934's as 911's cause they share the same physical shape with minor differences in bumpers and rear wing. The 934 just look's like a more aggressive 911. I like Porsches of all types from the early Le Man's 917 to the latest 911 GT3 which is probably my favorite of all Porsches by now.

Look's good kid, is that Fujimi's model? And are you going to add the front wing with fog-lights to it? Thank's for the pics!

The end date to the Cannonball Run build-off is in the morning of the exact date that Farra Fawcette pased away. I'll see if I can get the exact date on that event. I won't go by exact time on the clock but I say no later by high-noon on that day. So there is still plenty of time for everybody to get their kit and join in on the fun. I still have not got my kit yet. I might do Blake and Fenderbaum's red Ferrari in the first movie if I can find it. I will look for the proper GT for Memphis's unicorn.

Awesome Ferrari's guy's! As a fan of KS, it's nice to see a different twist on it with the Ferrari badges and different rims. Also, your mirrors are different as they don't look like Ferrari's Testarossa mirrors either. So, beautiful model you've got there with nice twists! I like it! Would like to see more of your work That yellow Ferrari is looking sweet too. I've never had luck painting yellow before and would like to try again some time. Particularly if there is a nice pearl yellow for the Lamborghini Murcielago's. What yellow did you use for that Ferrari?

Anybody else doing something here? I'd like to see this build-off/thread continue. All photo's of previously built movie-related cars are welcome! Does not matter how long ago you built it, please contribute to the thread. Thank you!

Hey guy's don't forget the Cannonball Run build-off either. This is one reason why I gave it a full year to give every body a chance to participate in it now that we have about three build-off's going on at once. Should be lot's of fun! I want to go for Nicolas Cage's Eleanor if I can find the right kit for it. Anybody know what kit to use for her? Isn't there an actual kit based on the movie car?
-
If I had a high-priced exotic car, I wouldn't trust movie-makers with it! Lord knows what would happen to it, and I doubt any insurance company would cover movie cars even if they were just extras. Now back to the build, I'll have to see what I can come up with as it sounds like fun. I was actually going to think of the same thing my self after I started my Cannonball Run build-off. Would love to see more photo's of previously built cars in there! Any previously built model kit of cars seen in movies are excepted. What would be a good model kit to do Nicolas Cage's Eleanor with? I'd like to attempt that one.
-
I bet that in both movies, some cars that were in those lists were either too rare to use in the film, or too expensive or hard to get and possibly weren't in the filming. It's pretty expensive to use even the cars they did use in the movies. Imagine trying to source out all of those 50-100 cars. Plus, I think it would make the movie a lot longer if they tried to stuff all those cars in the script as well. Just my thoughts. I'll be keeping an eye on this build! One of my favorite movies and next on my Itunes list.
-
I never really saw the older movie. Maybe small bit's of it. But I really enjoyed Nicolas Cage as Memphis. This sounds like a cool build-off idea. And I agree, those that were on the list but never seen should be built as the builder imagines it. Those actually used, should be built as close to the movie vehicle as possible. The Diablo was hard to tell since it was stolen at night, but I think it was the dark purple color.
-
Sounds cool, can we invent our own names for those cars who are nameless? I noticed that both Lamborghini's did not have names assigned to theme. There is a web site dedicated to movie cars and I keep forgetting the link to it, but it has been posted here before. You type in the name of the movie, and it will provide a big list of all cars featured in the film. One thing to note, not all cars that were on the list were actually shown in the film, so one would have to guess. I remember seeing the purple Diablo that Memphis and Sway stole, but I don't ever recall seeing a Countach in the movie. I'm sure somebody is going to ask this, but what about cars from the original Gone in Sixty Seconds film? I think the Countach should be Jill, and the Diablo Marcy.

I apologize, I want you to feel welcome here. Your pics are certainly welcome and much appreciated. I just wanted to limit the photos presented so as to not clog up the thread. I will re-write my rules here. All cars related to the movies that have been previously built, or are in current progress are more than welcomed here and all are much appreciated to this tribute to our lost Cannonballers. I do apologize, I certainly don't want to exclude people or make people feel unwelcome. Not my intent at all. All cars related to movies are welcomed! I do like your background and your icons, ad's something special to the car to make it more authentic! I like it a lot!

I like this site cause nobody judges you by the quality or lack of quality of your models. We're all here for the same pleasure and we're all here to help each other out. If that site doesn't like your skill level, to heck with theme! Come here, improve your skills, and be all the better for it. We've got lot's of professionals and beginners here. Lot's of tip's and tricks for making your project the best it can be. All is loved here.................

Real or Model #99 FINISHED!
FujimiLover replied to Harry P.'s topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
My gut says model. Going from Harry's question, I think he's trying to give us a strange clue. I'm going with model on this one! But a very good model! -
It was still a Ferrari. But I don't think it was known as a Ferrari. Here's a picture of the car in question. You can see why I think their similar. Nice model by the way!
-
Cool car, it reminds me of the, what is it, Ferrari Mythos? Is that what you call it? It's one of Ferrari's rare prototype cars that is hardly seen or hardly recognized as Ferrari. Anyway, it's got similar shape to that.
-
This build off still has a full year to go. I mentioned that the dead line should be exactly one year from the date that Ferra Fawcette past away. So all talk and no action is pointless at this time since there's plenty of time to take action. I started this thread, and I haven't even got a kit for the project yet. I'm still backed up with KS projects and my Smart Drifter project. I would like to see photos of previously built cars from the movie, but I don't want to clog this thread with cars already built. I'd rather see it filled with current projects as it's a contribute to our fallen "racers". To me, just posting pics of previously built cars really don't add contribute if you know what I mean. Contribution is more like what your doing now. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the interests, and pictures are always cool, but please let's keep this thread for current Cannonball projects. Thank you much! I hope to sometime soon join in on my own build-off! LOL! Your Bond car is ironic add to this and it's much appreciated. If you remember in the first Cannonball Run movie with Roger Moore, they wanted to do a James Bond like character, but for copy-writes they couldn't. So what they did instead, was have Roger Moore play an actor, Symor Goldfarb, or whatever his name was, act like he was "Roger Moor". Kind of funny to be Roger Moor playing a guy who's acting like he's Roger Moore! LOL! Seriously, lets keep this thread specific to current projects please! Thank you! I do love that Austin Martin with the two figures though! And nice back ground too! Is that a diorama you built or is it in front of a photo? Hard to tell. Nice!

Real or Model #98 FINISHED!
FujimiLover replied to Harry P.'s topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
I think that's why it fooled us so well harry! -
I personally like the white better. I think it would be easier for you to replicate since the model comes in white. However, if you like the green, now I'm not sure what green they used on that car, but I'd go for Boyd's Chezoom Teal Pearl green. Really nice and should look good on that. Actually, I think the Chezoom would be a very close match to that.

Real or Model #98 FINISHED!
FujimiLover replied to Harry P.'s topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
from watching the clip on Youtube, it looks like it handles very well! I'm surprised by those big "Jada-Toys" type wheels! LOL! Their very over sized for that car aren't they? Guess I'll do more research before punching in my vote! -
Okay, did anybody notice the amount of exhaust pipes on that particular car in those photos? What the heck is up with that? The one in the movie certainly didn't have that many! And I think we have enough Countach's already. This is the Cannonball Run build-off, not the Cannonball Run "Countach" build-off! I appreciate the enthusiasm for an awesome car, but let's have some variety here people! Thank you, love yea all! Well, slap me with a wet noodle I was wrong! I just never noticed that many exhaust pipes in the movie! Anybody else? Take a look at this link for it's restoration. http://www.cannonballcountach.com/Restoration.php
