  1. Too many models. I'm going to go with real. Look at the leather or fabric on the seats and behind the seat where the top goes down. I've never seen a model look this good. I'm saying real with this one.
  2. Has anybody shopped from these guy's before? Look's like a great place to collect some die-cast model cars of various scales. Seems reasonably priced dont' you think? http://www.diecast-toys.com/allproducts.php
  3. Thank's guys. If it's suitable for slot-car bodies, I'm sure it's suitable for RC car's as long as your careful and not bash into other cars or furniture and what not. Other question is, is it light compared to die-cast? Die-cast metaled bodies are too heavy for RC, one needs light plastic material. The plastic used on the Dnano bodies is I believe regular model plastic but not 100% sure. Light weight and durability are two requirements for RC car driving. Durability is a MUST for racing with other's on the track. I am still curious about those resin 1/43 scale Koenig kit's I see listed on ebay. I'd love to have a KS Competition body for my Dnano if it's suitable. Interesting web site there, I've browsed through it for a while and found some interesting stuff. Would like to find some decals to turn a Ferrari 360 Modena into a GTC racing version. Kyosho does have the Modena in Dnano form, but it's only the street version. I'd like to make one into a GTC racing version and would need 1/43 scale decals to do that with. Thank's for the info!
  4. Thank's guys! Anybody have any photo's or link's to these kit's? Thank's again, I just searched ebay and noticed there were not very many at all listed. I did however find one of my favorite compact sports cars, the Renault R5-Turbo from Heller. I might get that for my Dnano, but would probably need to set up the Dnano for HM type chassis instead of the MM that the Murcielago has. Also, would resin work or is that too fragile for RC racing? Plus, is resin plastic or die-cast? I'm interested in some resin kit's that are 1/43 in scale but can't tell if their plastic or die-cast!
  5. Thank's! I saved it in my watch-folder. The seller of the transkit suggested the same thing too so it's all even. I'd just hate to repaint a die-cast model for fear of not getting the same nice results as the die-cast. I don't mind painting the body kit to match, assuming the red's are the same. I guess that's the point isn't it? Is to get the red to match. Anybody have any idea what color Hot Wheels used on this Ferrari? It does not appear to be that orangey red that Italian Red is known for. So, I'm curious. Also, does anybody know what exact color Ferrari used on this particular model? Any way I can get factory matching paint in spray-bottle form? Noticed I changed my avatar? You like?
  6. Thank's man. The Ferrari 355 Trans kit does look simple and if I already had a Ferrari 355 model, I'd go for it. But, unfortunately, I would need to buy the model as well as the kit and I'd have to find a red one. The seller has told me that the kit works best with the Hot Wheels brand model and is pretty much a bolt on. I can see holes in the bumpers where they are screwed into the factory settings. The rear wing looks a little more difficult. I'm not sure if that's bolted in or glued in at any case I find it difficult to get those thing's to line up properly. The wheels being of resin color, I'm not sure how I would paint theme to get that nice gold finish their supposed to be. I'm very tempted by this kit, but would need to find the red Hot Wheels 355 at a reasonable price first. I dont' want to pay 80 bucks for a die-cast and another 80 for the transkit or whatever the price tag was. The seller also told me that it would come with the Koenig Special badges and logo's which is nice. You can't have a car that "look's" like a KS car without having KS logo's. And you can't just simply slap on KS logo's and call it a KS car. It's gotta have both or neither in my book!
  7. Hello there. I am totally in love with Kyosho's 1/43 scale RC car, the Dnano pictured here. What I'd like to know is this. Are there any 1/43 scale plastic model kit's of some exotic sports cars, WRC cars, or classic Ferrari's that I might be able to use on this chassis? I have two of Herpa's 1/43 scale highly detailed plastic models, both the Ferrari F-40 and Ferrari 355, all doors open, but I don't want to take those apart strictly for the RC car. Could you please provide me with a list and possibly some photo's of 1/43 scale kit's and where I might find theme? Anybody have any that they might not be using? Thank you! It would be pretty sweet to have the classic Ferrari 250 GTO since Kyosho makes it for their 1/28 scale cars.
  8. I hate receiving phone calls from people who don't know me. They pronounce my name like it's spelled Marcie. Or, they think I'm a "maam"! I hate that! If you can't pronounce my name right, or don't know that I'm a MALE! I don't want to talk to you! I usually hang up right away when they pronounce it wrong. Those that know me and are worth talking to, know me!
  9. I need to get season four! I've only got the first three and already ripped onto my Ipod! Need season four! What about Sliders? Anybody a fan of that show? I loved that show from the first three season. After that, when they lost 3-4 people, I didn't like it as much. I really never saw much of the last two seasons. Would like to find all seasons on DVD. Have the first two from Itunes, but I don't think their complete.
  10. Really? I hadn't noticed that! Maybe it's time for KITT to be upgraded?
  11. I'll look out for the re-runs. They usually do a myth-a-thon on Sunday's. I'm not too surprised about the new Knight Rider being ripped. You just can't beat the classics!
  12. I figured it was off season, but I had expected to at least see re-runs. Also, are we going to get a new Knight Rider season two? Season One was descent as it got better towards the end. Anybody else a KR fan? New or old? I'm more fond of the classic.
  13. WHAT? You mean not only was I right, but I guessed what kit it was? Holy molly guacamole! Here is a photo showing another angle of the model. I like this model much more than other Countach models. It has opening head lights, and the nice hinge detail. I bet these doors stay open better than the cheaper models do which always shut's on me.
  14. I still think that's a 1/43 scale model in your hands! And a very well detailed one at that!
  15. Hello everybody! I've been an avid Mythbuster viewer for a long time and I just noticed something. They seemed to have disappeared off the air? Is it off season? Are they in the process of making new shows? Is the show over? What's going on? I was hoping to at least see re-runs, but not even that! Has Discovery Channel pulled it off? Or will they be back on in the fall? Anybody else a Mythbuster fan and has noticed this as well?
  16. I'll definitely let you know if anything comes up. But does not look like it will any time soon. I haven't even got a kit for my own build off and I'm not sure how that ones going to pan out. Right now, I'm not even confident in the Smart project at the moment. But, we'll see what happens. I'm also very busy at the moment digitizing family photo's and have bin's, upon bin's, upon bin's of photos needed to be done. We'll see what happens with the Smart before I dive into anything else. I might do the purple Diablo some time if/when I get a Diablo kit. That should be pretty much straight forward as long as it's not another complicated Fujimi kit like my KS Diablo was.
  17. I think I might have to step down and let somebody else take Eleanor. I'm still trying to work on my Smart Car drifter and I'm very buisy digitizing family photo's. So, I won't have time for her.
  18. I haven't touched my Smart lately. I've got it all spread out on the work bench just waiting for my lazy hands to get to work. I wasn't satisfied with the white paint job on it as it's not as bright and glossy as I'd like it to be. I have yet to work on the Honda Civic V-tec engine for it either. I'm wondering if we can do this build off in any scale? I'm tempted by a 1/18 scale Smart 4-2 I saw listed on ebay that's already got a beautiful white body kit for it. As you know, most of these models of Smart 4-2's have optional body panels for changing the color like the real deal. The 1/18 comes in black with white body parts. I have a set of really nice chrome 1/18 scale wheels that might look good on it if their not too big for the Smart. Will need to find an appropriate 1/18 scale engine for it. I'm thinking 1/18 cause it'll give me more room to work with and possibly more details Plus, I think all the doors would open? So let me know if I can do the 1/18 scale version. Also, when is our dead line? That may be an issue for me. Here are pic's of the 1/24 scale model. Engine parts and possible wheels? I seemed to have lost my hobby knife. Will have to go to the LHS and get some supplies. Perhaps find a brighter glossier white as well.
  19. I'm going with model here. It look's to me like one of Kyosho's 1/18 scale models which I believe have that door hinge.
  20. I knew I forgot to buy something today! I bet if I do, nobody will win it and it'll go higher. If I don't buy it, somebody local will win it. It almost always happens when it get's to be 100 mil. I wouldn't buy that particular collection as I don't care for most of the cars he has, but I would certainly start my own collection! Well, first I'd have to have a house that would fit the collection! LOL! My bedroom at home doesn't work for anything more than 200 cars of various scales.
  21. Anybody else wish to share their 1/18 collection?
  22. Good idea. I don't know how my name always get's mis-spelled even though it's right there at the end of each of my post. It has been requested to put your real name in your postings and yet every time somebody replies to me, I see it spelled with a K. I know it's the most common way to spell Mark, but it's not my name. My name is Marc, not Mark. Thank you! Enough of my rambling, let us know how it goes.
  23. PayPal balance and credit card payments are always instant, and for me the only way to shop on-line. I no longer connect my bank account to my Paypal because it makes it way to easy to over draw the account and for somebody to hack in and rob you. I've once had somebody ship me an item before the e-check cleared, and I was puzzled, but glad the check had cleared. I would have had to send it back if there was a payment problem. So I would wait and ship it till the e-check has cleared. I'm sure the buyer is aware of that. You might want to check his feedback to see his history. Just in case, you might want to add a note to your listing, "Item will not ship till payment has cleared." That way, your buyer knows, and your clear.
  24. I have heard that there is a wireless USB steering wheel that is Mac-compatible, but have not found it yet. Way, way back in my PC day's, back with serial-printer port's, I had an awesome force-feedback steering wheel and one of the original really good WRC games called Mobile One Rally Championship. That was an awesome game and combination. The force-feedback was very realistic and worked very well with this game. When bumpy roads, the steering wheel would vibrate. On pavement, the steering wheel was stiffer. When you crash, the steering wheel shook violently! The real fun was when you were driving on ice! There was "0" sensation to the steering wheel. It was very slippery and realistic. When you had a flat tire, or a broken steering, it was very hard to steer the car. This made driving much more exciting and I hope to find the same thing for my Mac-version. But to be honest, I could care less about the force-feedback capabilities. I just want to steer and get better times! Not to beat the game, I have no patients for that, but it just makes it more fun.
  25. I know exactly how you feel. If you've been watching my recent builds, you'll know that I had to purchase a second Koenig Specials Competition model kit just to redo the body since the chassis/interior from the first one was perfect. I have to do it again for my gorgeous all red KS 911. Since the failure of the KS 911, I just have not gotten back into the hobby. In fact, I'm just starting my build of my Smart Drifter and a month ago I started painting it. I'm not entirely satisfied with the white paint on here as it's not as shinny and glossy as I'd like it to be. No one should ever be 100 % completely satisfied with their work. If they are, how can they ever improve? How can we ever get a project finished? My last four KS models are in no way perfect, but I am very satisfied with theme as they are. They look great, casual on-lookers would be impressed, family impressed, what more could you want? Perfection takes a long time to achieve. That is one reason why at the end of my posts, I have left a signature in bright red text, Quality Takes Time. If you want perfection, just keep building and building and don't ever give up. Eventually, you'll be satisfied with your work. Most likely up to around 80-90% as I don't believe anybody is really truly 100% satisfied. I guess this is one reason why I like collecting die-cast models as I don't have to work hard on perfection. That is also why I'm fond of models from Auto Art, and Kyosho. They are perfect, and all you have to do is buy theme. Still my point is, we are our own worst critics. We know what stink's because we did it our selves. We see imperfection in our own work when your significant other might not. Maybe she's jealous cause she wishes she could build as good as she think's you can. I envy the work my brother Eric in California can do. I consider him a professional model builder. His hobbies are RC airplanes and the details he put's into his models are superb. He's a master sheet metal expert and a very anal-detail minded person. He currently has a shop at his local airport where they maintain full-scale real life airplanes that pilots bring to him to either fix, or do their annual maintenance on. I envy his craftsmanship and in my vision, I see my self doing the same kind of work. In my head, everything is already perfect. My problem is getting the perfection from my thoughts, to my hands, and into the model I'm currently working on. This is very hard to do as I said, in my mind, it's already perfect, it's already finished. Only practice, will make the real model equal to what I see in my vision. Hope this helps!
