  1. Can you imagine the tooling required for a detailed WW2 aircraft! That would be even more complicated! Especially if it has folding wings!
  2. Yes!out of the box thinking is always interesting!
  3. Yes!I read that the tooling costs and failure of the Racing Scenes series were a significant factors that ushered in the demise of Aurora in '77
  4. OOPS!Totally forgot about my 540 K Benz.! It is light enough that i could display it being towed but i would need an abnormally long display case.Said display cases would be expensive indeed.I do have one to display my custom lionel Denver and Rio grande double ended diesel ,but I am not sure I want to displace it.
  5. Well since the diecast is so heavy it was only on the hook for a short period of time for the photo..I used the Cord because the Hubley Packard is 1/22 and almost all diecast including the engine and frame so i knew it would be way too heavy even for a brief period of time. The only other thirties model I have in plastic is the '29 Ford roadster which has too many modern touches to be appropriate.
  6. I elected vto use bumperettes in the back to allow rom for the towed car.The fact they look cool is a bonus!
  7. Here it is posed with a Franklin Mint Cord.
  8. Made the hook out of brass and styrene.
  9. Thing is insane!AWB 300?Outrageous!
  10. I used the headlights from the MPC Chrysler because I used the Caddy headlights on the Hubley Packard project.I made the headlight brackets out of thin Aluminum tubing.
  11. Mounted up the running gear.Great fit for an older kit!
  12. You know the Vista Cruisers had a window near the place where your roof curves.Might be an interesting idea to consider!
  13. I still have to do some touch up work ,but it does look quite striking!I tell you what,I am definetly going to beef up the rear leaf springs! What with the brass tow boom and wood decking i have some serious weight back there!
  14. Yes that is a valid point,Perhaps i will consider it a modern recreation of a conversion that was done ion the thirties with anachronisms included.!
  15. Thanks! One project at a time if you please!
  16. Added the vinyl stickers prior to painting.
  17. Lookin' good! I look forward to the build thread!
  18. Might be fun!is that the one with the optional windshield with the bullet holes?
