    Amt 58 Chevy

1958 Chevy impala, I like this car but it’s not my favorite car , but for some reason I’ve built the Amt 58 Chevy impala Kit more Times than any other kit over the years, this one here is a pearl butter scotch , this is really a nice kit , I’ve never seen a built one I didn’t like.
  5. Thanks Robert, yeah this model always does very well at the shows, years ago this model got started then put back in its box and sat for a couple years then I would do a little more work to it and again it would sit for a couple years, I even put it on the for sale table at a few model car shows for 5 bucks a few times, but no one would ever buy it , I’m glad I finally took it out of it box for the last time and finished it, 5 shows last year and it’s taken 5 first places, man I’m glad no one ever bought it !
  6. That’s totally awesome!!
  7. Lol, revell , not sure why I put amt .
  8. This is a 68 Revell firebird I built sometime ago , I made it look a little more like a 67 by adding the wing windows and Removing front signal lites and sitting the next to grille , built as a curb side model , light shaving, custom paint and a set of wheels and she’s done!

  17. I started with a revell 66 impala, and a real crappy resin 67 caprice , cutting the top and trunk for the both and combined the two together, reworking the dip rails and rear window, and little puffy and some primer and that’s it ! 66 caprice! not sure if the photos will show up in order but you get the idea.
  18. Here’s one I built to enter in the box stock class at a Model show, only using parts from the box nothing added ,I used the AMT 57 Chevy bel air, I built the custom version .

  21. Yeah just as easy on a model as it is on a real car , if you paint real cars you shouldn’t have to much trouble, I’ve been painting real cars for over 45 years, I just apply the same techniques to the models, here’s a pic of my real car I just sold .
  22. Thanks guys !
  23. Thanks CT , the way to do this is to use lacquer paints , do not thin it , and it will spray thick and with a hair like spray though your airbrush , if it’s too thick add just a bit of thinner until you get the results your looking for , hope this helps, Gary .
