This is a 1966 Chevy impala that I converted into a caprice , just about all my models I build with a 60’s / 70’s style and this car is one , this a curb side model, lots of body work on trunk and top , custom paint and hand pinstriped , hope you like, thanks!

This is model I built a few years ago, I don’t remember if I have ever posted it here before so I thought I would post it now, built with the theme of a late 60’s early 70’s style Lowrider, this is a Monogram 1965 Chevy impala, chopped top , custom painted, hand pinstripe in, this car is a curb side , i have a few others I don’t think I’ve posted on model cars before so I’ll post those also . Oh hell yeah. Now I got it , in 1983 I bought a brand new Z/28 , I was 23 years old , I drove it from the dealership to my shop two blocks away and touched the coil springs to lower it 3 inches all the way around, yeah get it , thanks!!

Been wanting to get around to build a 70’s style drag boat but haven’t yet but when I do I know I want it being pulled by a 70’s style Chevy custom van, so I built this , amt Chevy van pretty much box stock expect MRC wheels and tires , custom paint, custom interior in front cab , hopefully soon their will be a bitchen matching drag boat behind .

I built this for a on line Model van challenge, amt 78 ford van , I worked after school at a custom van and mini truck shop back in the mid 70’s so I’ve always had a fondness for custom vans and have owned a few over the years, so when I decided to build this I knew where I was going to go with it, many body mods , custom paint and full interior , hope you like ! ? I just realized I may have posted this in the wrong place, not sure how to move it tho.

Here’s one I worked on and off for years , I finally finished it , color is candy blue, with a metal flake silver top with a blue fade, slight Body mods here and there, when I first started this model I had an image in my head what it would look like, I’m glad I stuck with it, hope you like!

That’s a great looking build , very clean, that’s what Im looking for when I look at some one else’s build, that’s important to me and yours has it , very nice , paint looks slick ! Jacked up , mag wheels, traction bars and cherry bombs it’s got everything I like ! by the way what is the day 2 look ? Sorry if I seem lame , I thought I’ve heard em all but I’ve never heard day 2 .?

Thanks crazyjim the cob web is done by using candy lacquer , ( in this case candy purple) not reduced shot though your airbrush, if you reduce it it will spray like paint but if you don’t reduce it it will shoot out in chunks and like hair strands , looks like cob web.

Thanks espo, yeah the finish is not my usual high gloss , it’s a more satin like finish, when I first painted this model it was a high gloss and I put it aside while I work on the rest of the car, when it came time to put the body on the chassis I decided to reclear the body one more time , so I sanded it with like 2000 grit sand paper , when I did I noticed how the color looked very soft giving the finish a whole new look , I felt the Now softer colors fit the look of the build, So I left it with a sanded body , thanks for noticing!!!

Very clean and slick looking build Cool Hand , this is something I like to do , take a car that you normally don’t see as a Lowrider and build it as a Lowrider, back in the 70’s you saw all kind of car as low riders, firebirds and camero’s, mustangs, pinto’s, Vega’s ,etc, I remember when I was in high school by buddy had a 70 duster with hydraulics’s !! Good job bro !

Here’s one I built for an on line challenge theme was red white and blue, use an ram chargers dragster , I built the back of the dragster from sheet plastic, hope you like .

Well topic is post your favorite paint job, that’s a hard for me , I really like building models, but I love painting them even more, to pick my favorite would be almost impossible for me , so I’ll start posting ones that are my fav and continue as I find in my photo bucket, or until you guy’s tell me to stop , all these are automotive paints, Ive loaded A butt load of pictures, I hope that’s not too many , If so please let me know, I’ve got more if anyone would like to check em out , thanks for looking!
