  1. I also reworked the rims by redusing the inacurate Italeri generic hub, Hope you all like it, Kostas.
  2. I also wanted to try my skills to update the interior. I got inspired by Adam's (modeltruckmafia) work so here it is, The bottom of the bed is empty and because it is visible I cover it with styrene, Made out of styrene a laptop pc with ejected disc, a GPS device and a flat TV, working on how to build curtains for the side windows and the bunk more to come...
  3. Something that I don't like in Italeri Europoean kits, is that they are tooling only one fuel tank and the spare wheel. Long distance European trucks have factory specd two fuel tanks. I wanted to try to scruchbuild fuel tanks, so this is how they turned out. I am very pleased with them since these are my first attemp doing fuel tanks. More to come...
  4. I reworked the front bumper witch was inacurate at all. I know that my bumper is not 100% correct but I am very pleased with the result, more to come...
  5. Hi guys, I am working on a few old builds of European trucks, that I though that may are interest for you. I started to rebuild this Scania Streamline that was first builded back in 1996 but didn't turned out the way I wanted. I want to improve my skills and I believe that doing practice on old builds is very fun, inspirational and you can lern many things of modeling technics. I am hooked on this build, inspired from a real truck I have seen a few times on the highway. This is a first mockup of the truck, without the cab fairings. I cut off the molded mesh witch will be replaced with a real one,
  6. JT, The Mercedes-Benz Actros kit that Italeri did is a very nice kit, it comes together it self and especialy for this kit, I could say that it is 100% acurate. There is only one tricky step about possitioning the front axle, many builders doing this wrong and the truck is sitting higher in the front than it should be. A few years ago Italeri did the MK2 (facelift) version #3824, later did the Black Edition #3841 and this year did the MK3 (also facelift), of the megaspace cab, witch all are also nice kits but no acurate due to the fact that Italeri probably was downsising the costs, and didn't update the tools by adding all the new components that new emision regulations added to the trucks (add blue tank, catalysators, filters etc.). The same luck had all the facelift kits Italeri did of European trucks (Scanias, volvos, Dafs, Mans) the last 10 years. At least the all new Iveco Stralis they did is 100% acurate model, maybe they changed their minds and they heard our opinions. I wish they do a US tractor soon. Kostas.
  7. Yeah, its really funy to rework on past projects and giving them a new life but it is really sad when you come to the point that you want, but you can't go to the next step because you run out of supplies. I should post a few photos of my other projects although they are European makes so not a lot interest here. JT, thank you for your kind words, really apreciated. As for the front fenders it is a really simple idea, not 100% correct executed. I had to use little stripes of plastic inside the fender to enforce the additional part but didn't do it. Kostas.
  8. Who's afraid the snow??? Nice & clean build, I like all the details!!! Kostas.
  9. ''Yeah, ok where is the model'' were my words when I first saw the photos. Excellent work, superb!!! Kostas.

  12. Excuse me guys but apart from the real thing I don't see any model. lol Weldone, nice & clean build, I like the axles setup, I like also the backdrop and your pictures. Kostas.
  13. Beautiful parking lot!!! Weldone!!! Kostas.
  14. Guys, The kit is the first generation of Mercedes-Benz Actros introdused back in 1997 and won the Truck of the year award the same year. There where many options for the cab such as daycab, medium, long distance, Megaspace etc. The kit is the Megaspace cab. The yellow truck JT posted is the long distance cab. Both cabs belong to the same era, both have raised roof, two beds same dashboard and many other parts. We can easyly say that the cab cell is the same but there is a big diference. The Megaspace cab is sitting higher on the chassis than the long distance cab. To make it clear the long distance cab has the big tube on the floor to make clearance for the engine components, but the Megaspace sitting higher has a flat cab floor. That makes a lot of free room in the cab for driver and passenger, its more comfortable and has a smooth ride. Edit: One of the parts that can really tell you the cab is the front bumper. The front bumper for the Megaspace cab is unique (used only for this cab) and it has 1 lower set of head lights and 1 upper set of possition lights and turn signals and it is clearly higher than the long distace cab bumper. So for the Megaspace cab, the gap between the lower part of the door -witch also covers the third step- and the bumper is normal to make clearance for the cab to tilt. Hope that helps. Kostas.
  15. JT, Your Mercedes Actros looks just fine, it is superb and the trailer so. I would like to have no fruits but the girl, lol LOL!!! Keep it coming, Kostas.
  16. JT, your build is amazing and the decals super, I love the engine decal! Kostas.
  17. Hey guys, nice to see some interest for my build. After a too long period of having no job, a few weeks ago I got a part time job. Nothing special and miles away from my electronics technician carrer, but you know what, it is a job that at the moment feeds my wife and kid. The reborn project is now sitting in the side of my workbench waiting for supplies. I can't spend money to purchase primer and paint cans, so I am working on other rebuild projects. Kostas.
  18. What a work horse??? Keep it coming. Kostas.
  19. It would be too dangerous to hook a tanker so close to those flames. lol I realy like those singles to the drives. Keep it coming. Kostas.
