Kostas Parchas replied to Gluhead's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hi, If I am corect, the builder is a French modeler and his name is Christian. He had posted in the past on here also. You can find his builds here: http://plastimodelkits.keuf.net/ Just scroll down to section Mini trucks, Camions, Trucks and choose Camions US. OK it is in French but I use google translator. Now about the model, I am not sure if the cab of this one is kitbased or totaly build from scrach. Hope this helped, Kostas. -
"That's some rig, alright!"
Kostas Parchas replied to Tyson's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Hi Tayson, Don't get me wrong, I think that the mouth is to big & and the jaw goes down too far. Of course pictures don't do it justice but I did a litlle comparison between your pics and shots from the movie and I found that the lower section of the jaw is lined up to the lower edge of the front bumper. You can see that clear when first time the truck apears in the movie just arriving to the Dixie boy. The goblin face of this truck is an item that I always wanted but I din't dare to built. I am very happy that someone else is doing it. Keep us posted with as many pictures as you can about this challenging build you have started. Kostas. -

Auslowe drop deck 48 foot trailer
Kostas Parchas replied to BigBad's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Don't worry about that KW. Just take off the rear feeders, put some chains to secure it on the drop deck and there you are, on its way from the body shop to the chrome shop. It would be real cool just after the paintbooth before chorme bits instaled. Kostas. -

A DAF 3300 in Texas???????? WOW!!! Brian you have done a great job on this one. You did it justice. Congratulations!!! Many of these units (rigid 6x2 or 6x4 & traktors 4x2) 3300/2800 even a few 2600 are still making money here in Greece. Kostas. -

JT, After seen this one and a few others that Tim has on the works I am falling in love with this kit. If I could, I would purchase more that 20. You have done a great job, congatulations!!! Are you gonna built a trailer for it or not? Kostas. -

Kostas Parchas replied to Q tip's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
John, You have done great work so far. I like the gril, I like the headlights (maybe not so close to the gril) and I like also the bat sunvisor. All you need now is a big turbo wing above the sleeper. Kostas. -

Robert, The trailer turned out prety well, well done my friend!!! I would like to see more pics off the Peterbilt as a unit and of course I can't wait to see this large car completed under the sun light. Kostas. -
You 're off to a good start. Keep it coming. I like a lot the color combo and also the seminol theme. You got also a nice looooooong frame and I like the works around the rear axles. Its gonna be a really cool large car if you deside to much the traktor and the trailer. Kostas.

new T2000 from France
Kostas Parchas replied to marcay's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Marcay your KW is coming out very nice. Keep it coming, you are doing great job. The kit that QCDOC and I have I think is the same. I also purchased my kit from the de-elegance truck model fleet and I have also the Peterbilt 387 kit. The detail is amazing and I wish I had purchase aslo the FL coronado and columbia kits. I planing to use Italeri Peterbilt 377 frame and axles for both my kits. BTW, Mark its been a looooooooooooooong time since your last update on your T2000. Are you planning something about this? Edit: Marcay, I can contact Kuen from the de-elegant truck model fleet and ask him to share his email with you if you need to ask him something directly. Kostas. -
Hello everybody, I woud like to talk about the hobby in my country, Greece. As far as I know from convertations in hobby shops, here in Greece there are many people that are building cars and very few like me who are building big rigs. Most of the guys building cars, they like to build exotic cars like F_____s, Lamborginis, Porches and rally cars. Actualy a few of these guys are building big rigs, but nothing special, they do it just because of couriosity and the end result is the model of the box art. I Hanen't met so far a guy interested to big rigs the way I do. At the other hand, there is a huge (really HUGE) amount of modellers who are building war themes (if this is correct) like war airplanes, war ships, tanks and battle field dioramas. In the past I have seen some Greek forums on the net but these are dedicated to the war zone and not to the civil zone of our great hobby. I wish the hobby to be more popular to the new generation, but my bad luck, with this financial crisis we getting through nowadays, I think that the new generation will have no interest to the hobby. I am waiting the day that my now 3 years old daughter will grow enough to build a big rig model with her and show her the magic of our great hobby. How many of you guys are affected by the hobby to your busines. For example working with tiny bits for many years, has helped me many times in my carrier as a consumer electronics technician, to handle any hand tool and work on mother boards, chips, tranzistors, soldering irons etc. Kostas.

Guys, it would be very nice Italeri to reissue these kits, but not now for me. As said before I have no job, I am sort of money for the hobby and there are allready many Itealeri EU truck reissues and a totaly new kit (Iveco Stralis) I want to purchase. Kostas. -

Truck room redo!!!
Kostas Parchas replied to Kostas Parchas's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Hi, Tim, I do my best, keep in mind that the last time I purchaced any kit was back in 2011. Since then I have no job so no money to the hobby. JT, IMO Italeri's Peterbilts are the best kits ever made. I wish they (Italeri) bring out soon something newer like 389 or 386. I believe that their big bet about model trucks is their new Iveco Stralis kit. If we support them they will ''feed'' us. Doug, OK Peterbilt is my favorite but I like trucks US or EU. OK I like better US trucks. US trucks are legentary for us here in EU. Those 2 Volvos and FLD 120 where purchaced buck in 2004. I would love to have 3 or 4 kits more from each one of these. Kostas.
