question for a modeler
Kostas Parchas replied to Kostas Parchas's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Hey Adam, Your modeltruckmafia site was my first touch/foundation of my net model trucking experience. Via your site I found many other sites and be sure that I was really surprised not only by seeing yours and other builders models but by the interest of other people on to this section of our hobby. As you may know, I am living in Athens Greece and here there isn't any interest for model trucks. Before seeing your site, I was thought that I was one of the very few truck modelers around the world. When you took down the modeltruckmafia site I was really disappointed. Now I am happy you 're back. I hope that the modeltruckmafia forum is still in action. As you said you can build any eye catch theme, but there are many ''new'' things you can do (Tim's mastered 386 & 389 Peterbilts). I have my eyes on you... PS (to everyone) Please excuse my English writing. Kostas. -
That is a very nice detailed truck. Nice pictures I like the scene. Kostas.

Nice work so far. I think that you should convert the ''pushers'' to look lifted. It will look more realistic this way if you will not ''load'' it. Keep us posted. Kostas. -

Nice work you have done. I like the Australian look of this kit, but it looks much better in a traditional USA setup. Kostas. -

Resin 387
Kostas Parchas replied to mackinac359's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
That 's really good news for us guys!!!! Hit them all!! Jeff T, you have to explain her how important these kits are for you and your collection. When I was meet my wife for the first time (almost 10 years ago), I had tell her that I have two hobbies: 1 truck modeling 2 playing keyboards. She said that I have to deside which one I prefer , so I choosed model trucking. Anyway I believe that your wife will understand the importance and the ''hight_priority_to_buy'' of these two kits. PS. I hope she will, because I want to see these kits already done from other model truckers!!!! Kostas. -
Hey Tim, Good news you have for us about a new run of these kits. Kuenn should have pictures of each model already done, so customer has the opportunity to see the final result. When I was almost ready to hit these kits, I had asking him to mail me some pictures and his reply was that he has some but didn't know were, so I have never seen these kits done For your info these kits are amazing (big deal for me) and in my case took over 2 months to be delivered (OK It is the Greek post system ). Hey Broch, I bought these kits on Jun 2007 for 130$ each total 260$ from the de_elegant model truck fleet. You may now thinking that they are too expensive but here in Greece we have Euros and that time it cost me about 200 euros including shipping. They also custing kits for Freightliner coronado and columbia. sorry but at the moment I dont have a link of their site. I wish I could spent money to get them, but I want first to hit some model kits and other resin parts. Do you have any resin kits or parts? Kostas
-
Hello @ all, I thought I should show to you my resin kits, because I have not seen them posted, from anyone of you. These kits are from the de_elegant model truck fleet. I am very impressed by the quality of the resin and the details of these kits. So here we are, Peterbilt 387: and here is Kenworth t2000: Here you can see the only problem with the resin, KW hood was under pressure while shipping to Greece. As you can see these kits both needs chassis. I didn't want to take parts from other kits as donors, so I ordered the needed parts from the local Greek ITALERI importer. After a few weeks I had the needed sprues from ITALERI PETERBILT 377 KIT (#740) twice. That 's what I have in resin at the moment. There are some other resin parts that I need as like hoods etc, but first I want to hit some kits. What do you have in resin on & off your workbench (include those in the boxes) Kostas.

Hello to all of you guys, I would like to ask you about a truck modeler Mr Adam from the modeltruckmafia. I was watching his site for few months until about two years ago when his site came down. Before three months I realize that he started a new site with his old builds but no new models. Does anyone of you knows if he does still building model trucks? I have seen an older thread of him in this forum but nothing new. PS sorry for posting this here, I thought that here is the correct place to do. Kostas.
