  1. Forgot, that also the engine is almost done... It need only pipes...
  2. I had some fun this morning scratch building some stuff... The first was a gas tank, on the kit is not included. And a battery... Here the gas tank in place, with a brake fluid tank. Also add the front light (without lens) and wire them. This is the battery in place... The steering wheels is not very good, you can see it require a lot of cleaning from the mold... So I look on my spare parts, and found this one. IIRC it is from a 1/32 Impala... The diameter is the same, and looks more better. So I will use it. 3. You're Welcome, and Thank you for looking!
  4. Here one of the last progress... Now it need some detail works to be finish. The pedals and stick gear... Brake line done, this is on the rear, also you can see the trans lever. Here another fitting test... I painted it in white, but adding a little bit of yellow... I think looks better than pure white... And here what I'm working on... Finally the engine... Need some to be completed, but it is almost done...
  5. Thank you! Now I'm resizing some pics, so in a few minutes I can post them.
  6. Ok thank you! I think to put the front windshield on the model, and make it street legal, but I don't like the parking light on the fenders, and I'm not sure on the tail light, I will put them, but probably a different tail light, the one on the kit are big... Today I got the chance to primer it and paint it, in white. Tomorrow I will spray some clear gloss and start to work on the engine.
  7. Forgot the pics. Here ready for the primer...
  8. :D Thank you! I just finish to sand it. So now it is ready for some primer...
  9. Thank you! If you want the convertible body and the close/open roof, let me know.
  10. I'm gluing it... I know that would better soldering it, but the Super Glue is working great, and I don't want go in garage (toooooo warm)... Jim, the VW you saw, had a front windshield? Thank you! Basically I finished the body, I need to find out how I can keep the rear hood open, and it be ready for paint. Thank you for looking!
  11. Thank you! I just used some metal wire.
  12. Another progress, the front and rear hood...
  13. Thank you Jon! I will use those pics, and I'll make some sample for see the one that fit better. Thatnk you again about that, I didn't though a the speedometer. The speedometer will be seen, because the dash is "wrought iron"...
  14. I should change the title now...
  15. Found also this one with fender, that was in a movie. I still prefer without... Probably they had fender for a "safety" reason.
  16. Thank you guys! Enjoy your week end!
  17. And here some pics of the work I did yesterday on this VW... Now it has a hard top, I think is better in this case, than convertible... This one a mock-up with the original body, just for have an idea where bend the wire for the roof... And here roof done... Still need hood, windshield, trunk, and side step... Thank you for looking!
  18. Thank you!
  19. Yes, there are several made... Before start this build, I searched on google some pics, and saved them for an inspiration. Those pics are what I found. Joe Gomez and his VW... Others... This one was in a movie. And who knows how many there are out there.
  20. I can't make the vents! because I already did the roof and rear window... And I don't want remove all and redo it...
  21. With original I was referring the 1/1... White stand out also better on the black chassis/interior (excluded seats). Nice idea to use the original vents, But I don't know if make it with or without... I'll decide about it, when the trunk is done. Probably also I should repaint the rims white, and also the the black parts on the engine...
  22. Thank you guys! Today I made kind of a big work, now the side are done and also the roof... And I started to bend some metal for the hood and trunk. Tomorrow I'll take some pics...
  23. Thank you Jim! Cool that you saw the original one! I think on the model I will keep the same style, but making some modification. Because of your experience with those VW I think you are the best person for ask about the color, what do you think, paint it in white or silver? I saw some pics of another one in yellow, but I still think that the white and probably the silver one are the best. Think that I almost sold this kit on ebay, and while I was waiting some parts (screws, bolts etc...) from my brother to use on the Alfa, I removed it from ebay, and looking for an inspiration for it... Came up that pics, so here I am... Here the pedals, and gear stick... The front and rear finally attached... Taking shape... Thank you for looking!
  24. Thank you!!!! Front and rear in place... Now it is taking shape...
  25. Here the rear end in place... Need to add more wire on it, but give an idea...
