Very cool, and I love to see such an unusual subject on this forum. Not a big deal, but is it too late to straighten the grille, which is at a somewhat off angle?

I can tell you from personal experience that it's not a good idea to consider the possibilities of resale except to friends who might be interested. On eBay, you have to pay fees and the hassle of posting your items isn't worth it unless you are an experienced, high-volume eBay seller or find something extraordinary. Just get what you want.

The F40 build is also on Alex Kustov's website, but that's okay. Gold is where you find it. For me, having multiple pictures of a master's work on a hard-copy page layout actually makes a build journal easier to follow, without scrolling or clicking.

There are a lot of articles in MCM that feature subjects I'm not interested in, either. But I think the magazine does an excellent job of spotlighting builds and techniques that can be translated into the building of any car subject.

Just got #154 in the mail today, received in perfect, archive condition. Some stunning builds and good reviews in there, plus some tips on opening louvers that are new to me. Got a chuckle out of the Shopping Kart article, since I have quite a history of creating TV spots and promotions for Food City, employing their big cart using Earnhardts Sr. & Jr. as spokesmen for publicity surrounding the Food City 500 and 250 races.

No disrespect meant to the female gender, but next time a woman tells you that men have never experienced the pain of childbirth without anesthesia, I would suggest mentioning the trauma of throwing one's back out (happens to me about every 1-2 years and renders me unable to move or walk for about 3 days at a time; my wife just thoroughly enjoys bringing a pee bottle to my bed and emptying it), and for that matter, kidney stones. I sympathize with Gregg and I understand how it makes the simplest of functions (such as lying still without pain) impossible to perform. The challenges must be immense when one suffers chronic problems over the years.

Though my judgment is harsh, I must agree that goodness is its own reward. But I just don't understand why the recipients of that goodness do not acknowledge it.

The differences are minor. My biggest problem is that I have to make an extra step and go to My Home to select the particular album I want to use. One very small improvement: when you want to copy an image to paste into a post, you just click once on the IMG field and it's automatically copied to place the link in your post – you don't have to highlight it and do a copy command.

Of course, any kit-bashing would depend on whatever the comparative scales are. If you want to pay a certain amount of money for a 1/12 diecast as a reference, SunStar has it.

However, it can get pretty tricky if you're dealing with multiple compound curves such as those found on grilles and bumpers.

Okay, another neat segue somewhat back to topic... Don't forget that aircraft engineer / movie producer Howard Hughes personally designed Jane Russell's bra for her debut in "The Outlaw," which inspired automotive design of the 1950s, particularly Cadillac grilles and 1959 Caddy taillights.
