  1. The Demon is also listed there...
  2. Just a few light coats of Testors dullcoat sprayed on the chrome
  3. The '71 Demon would be really cool! Kitbashed with the '71 Duster it would really make a nice model
  4. Well, looking at the reference pics I got of the real car, the blue on top is the same, or close to the blue on the sides. So I custom mixed blue paint to match the blue on the decals. The blue is actually darker than it looks on those pics.
  5. This is the Revell kit, wired and plumbed
  6. Why should we believe in this supposedly mayan end of the world if the mayans themselves don't believe it? http://www.cbc.ca/news/offbeat/story/2011/12/29/sk-mayan-calendar-1229.html It's just another end of the world rumor started by the same stupid people that predicted the all the previous ends of the world... World cannot end now, I have a closet full of kits to build
  7. Keep an eye on ebay, that's where I got mine
  8. Here's the '70 Dart Swinger i built a few years ago, using the Scale Coachworks resin kit, but I chose to use the AMT '71 Duster kit as donor. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=41676&hl=swinger
  9. This is my first big rig, and I know nothing about big rigs... It's the Italeri kit, mostly box stock with automotive basecoat / clearcoat paint and homemade decals.
  10. Nice! I love those wagon stockers! It would also be nice to have a numbers and letters decal sheet, for the class designations and competitor numbers on the windows
  11. Yup, that's what I read in the NHRA rulebook, "G" being the natural class And about the carb being on backwards, it is actually on the correct side, problem is that when I drilled the barrell holes and fabricated the choke tower, I did it on the wrong side Anyway, like you said, that carb is not legal for the Nova... Now I was wondering what kit has a nice carb that would be correct for my Nova?
  12. All scratchbuilt. Hard to explain how I did it, just found some good pics of the real things on the web and did my best to replicate them in 1/25 scale using Evergreen strips and Tamiya extra thin glue. Here's some pics of the scratchbuilt stuff I did for the Nova; Autometer monster tach with shift light Optima battery, Fram fuel filter and Holley electric fuel pump CSR electric water pump Headers extensions Fire extinguisher Other scratchbuilt items I did that I have no pics of are; - Cal Tracs traction bars - Frame connectors - Fuel pressure regulator - Radiator overflow tank - Brake linelock - Driveshaft loop Scratchbuilding is new to me. It's surprising how some things looks harder to do than it actually is... Here's a few pics of the interior before final assembly;
  13. That Chevelle looks solid, not too much rust! Very cool project My brother has a 426 Max Wedge is his '64 Dodge. Here's a pic of his car I have most of the stuff needed to build the replica, I just need to work on the decals and find someone with an ALPS printer that could print them, because of the gold color... I will be watching your Torino build!
  14. Really! That's so cool! Good luck with the Chevelle I know some things about stockers too because my brother has been running a '64 Dodge in B/SA for a few years now. A replica of his car is on my "to do" list.
  15. Thanks everyone! I agree about the front tires. The tires and wheels are the ones from the kit. And about the carburetor, yeah it's a Holley, and I know it's not legal in that Nova I just looked in my parts boxes to find a nice carburetor that looks good, and did some additional work to detail it. Before starting to build that stocker, I found a 2011 NHRA rulebook and followed the rulebook from start to finish, and the carb is probably the only part that would not be legal on that Nova
  16. Here's my first stock eliminator build, and not the last one for sure, I really enjoyed building this one! So it's the Revell kit, with a few PE parts, braided hoses and fittings, wiring, some scratchbuilt parts and homemade decals.
  17. Incredible work John! Amazing!
  18. Nice prizes, and congrats again Corey! I received a few prizes too (my Chevelle received an honorable mention) I got 2 kits, a Revell Gearz contest T-shirt, a Gearz 2012 calendar, a Gearz sticker and a Dodge baseball hat
  19. John is the man! His work is outstanding!
  20. I got a few friends who build mostly racecars and they do wonders with waterslide decals, so much one piece decals that there's not much paint to see once finished. For example; complete carbon fiber hoods and all, using scale motorsports carbon fiber flat decal sheet, microsol, microset and a hair dryer. After seeing what these guys can do. I think a mod top can be done with waterslide decals.
  21. Me, if it takes another 8, 9 or 10 months for them to release the kit, I don't care, there's no hurry. If they need that time to release a nice, detailed, correct, accurate '70 'Cuda, I say go ahead! Take your time and do it right this time. I got a closet full of unbuilt kits anyway so it's not like I have anything else to do during those next 8, 9 or 10 months
