  1. Thanks all. Billy, a pro touring build isn't a bad idea...
  2. Great concept. I'll be following along for sure. I'm thinking about (someday) doing a '32 with a P-51 Mustang theme.
  3. Great color choice. I love it on this car! i think the stripes would look good.
  4. Cool. My favorite year of 'vettes. I'll be watching!
  5. Hi all, here's what's been occupying my time lately. This was supposed to be for the muscle car build off earlier in the year, but life got in the way. I originally thought that this was going to be a relatively simple build up but the more I got into it, the more complicated it's become. Here's some pics from early on with mock-ups and the interior in, with the roll cage I scratch built. Interior, painted. Missing shifter in this pic. Here's where I'm going with the motor. It's from a late 90's Nascar, with some induction ducting. I was going to run the ducts through the head lights, but I think I'll build some collector boxes for below the bumper. Kitbashed the rear end, from the same Nascar kit, with some modifications. Scratch built the shocks and some severe massaging of the rear of the car to get all this to work. Working up the front suspension and getting the ride height right. I've had to bash together some pullys. I've got to cut down the alternator height a little, I thinks it's up a little high. It's sitting right where I want it to be! I painted the wheels today as well as fabricated some front spindles. Not sure where or how I'm gonna get some front shocks on it, but I'll figure something out I hope. I'll put some more pics up tomorrow most likely. Thanks for looking!
  6. Sometimes I just put in a movie that I've seen a bunch, so I don't have to watch (which doesn't always work) or I jut on one of my rock stations from Pandora.com. I've found I work better with music that's loud and heavy. Although, I find softer music better for doing really fine detail work like foiling.
  7. I'm going real on this one, too.
  8. Hi All, Quick question. I have some Testors one coat lacquer wet look clear. I've just started using lacquer and am curious if it is ok to spray this over decals or if it would mess them up in some way? Thanks for the help.
  9. Awesome! I saw the pic with the two boxes and thought it was two separate builds...nope turned into one wicked ride. Very cool concept. I think the color choice is perfect.
  10. Love the paint job so far. Great combo and the decal stripe is great. Keep it up.
  11. So after watching me hack some plastic for a few months and after a couple of car shows my girlfriend decided to try her hand at building a couple of models. The first she started was the '65 Shelby gt350 and more recently she decided that she had to have a Camaro as well. So, here are where her 2 builds stand now and I'll try to keep these updated for her a little more regularly as she keeps on with them. Suffice it to say, she's got the bug. She just picked out the new Revell '49 Merc at Michaels with a 50% off coupon, to do next. The Mustang is Testors Lacquer Lime Ice, not clear coated yet, we'll do that after the decals. The Camaro is just a nice red spray can that we found at Home Depot that she liked. Thanks for looking, and I'll be sure to pass on any comments.
  12. Looks good so far. Very interesting concept with the 2-tone. Did the twin turbo set up come with this kit? In my parts box from years ago I have half the turbo set up and I've been wondering if that's what it was. I never built a Camaro, so I must have got it from another kit at some point...
  13. I've been following along with this one. Great job so far. You've really nailed the photo and I love the interior. Can't wait to see it done. Keep it up!
  14. Hi Chris, I was looking for one about a year back when I messed up the one that came in the kit. The only one I could find was from the Modelhaus. But just so you are forewarned, it won't work with the Revell kit. The resin one is too long and too narrow. I guess it is supposed to be a replacement for an older annual, but I didn't know that until I bought it. If anything I hope this helps you avoid the situation I found myself in. Have you asked in the Wanted section? That's where I ultimately found a replacement for mine from the good people on the board. Good luck!
  15. Thanks for the kind words guys.
  16. This is great. Fantastic concept and amazing execution. Well done. Can't wait to see this finished. I've got to watch this movie again now too!
  17. Finally got a couple of builds finished. It's been a while. The purple one was wrapped up a month or two back and I finished up the blue one this weekend. The purple one was started around 15 years ago or so and just neglected as I got out of the hobby. Really only needed a paint job and some little touches here are there. The blue one was started about a year ago now. Enjoy, thanks for looking, comments and critiques welcome. Hopefully more to come soon.
  18. Try as I might, this year has just been flying by and work has kept me busier and away from the ol bench. Saddly, my Chevelle didn't make the deadline. I'll finish it, just not anytime soon.
  19. I'd be interested in getting a body as well. I'm slow with building too, but would love to give something like this a go. Great job so far on the design. As with your past couple moldings, your skills continue to impress. Thanks for offering something like this as well, very cool!
  20. Glad to help guys. The internet is a very useful tool. Thanks for the extra info too, handy to have for the future!
  21. Hi David. I've got a Starliner in my build pile too. Here's a couple of reference links I had with pictures of the frame. Looks fully boxed to me. Click below: Re-furb Starliner Frame Rebuilt Frame
  22. Looking good so far. That interior looks fantastic. I'll be following this one as this is kit is on my radar to pick up and build. Keep it going!
  23. I'm going to go with real this week too. Mainly cause I can't convince myself otherwise!
  24. Looks like a model to me.
