almost finished
Porky replied to scale trucker's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Hey Gordon, Man that thing is looooooooking goooooooooood !!! -
Hey Jim The cab in the 900L straight cowl conversion of Bill's that I cast is an updated B Model cab but not an aero cab.
-
Hey Gordon That is looking pretty sweet, can't wait to see it all finished up but if the cab turns out how you want it after you git them bugs out of it I might indeed be interested in casting them. I used to cast a studio cab pretty close to yours to go with that hood but the mold I had for it was near shot when I got it and it never really pulled a good enough copy to use for a master.

anyone know whos doing monkeyclaw stuff now?
Porky replied to Chad's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Hey Chad Was good talking to you when you stopped by the other day and Thanks for the good words on the casting work. I do have most all of Matt's old master parts including the master for the condo top and the mid roof cab it fit on but they are all pretty much killed and would have to be reworked before they could be used again. Maybe I can get them back out there one day if the masters are repairable or if I can find someone with a good set of the resin parts I could use to copy. -

Hey Ben Thanks for posting the info on the truck kits. Been thinking of dipping one of those IH9670's you were talking about, it is a cool kit but my luck the day before I get the molds finished they will re-issue it Maybe one of the old Ford C Cabs from an old entex kit, they are alot better detailed than any of the AMT or Monogram kits, it has a pretty nice engine in it but I think it is a gas burner, not sure though. -

I might cast the flat top double bunk cab, the day cab is a 20 footer. I did not do that cab I got it in a junk lot with the start on the double 27 ft box trailers. It may be that after I cast the double bunk I would make a day cab out of one of those and recast it. -

Hey Justin I agree all the way around, they are pretty quick and easy to build and take up about half the dispay space as the 1/25 scale trucks. However you can add all the detail you want to the 1/32 trucks only issue there is you have to scratch build about all of the detail parts hence I think there is a market out there for the 1/32 resin parts, we will see. I like messing around with the 1/32 stuff, I will stick a few pics on here of a couple projects KW T600 twin steer tri-axle ( I located the second steer axle too close to the front one so I have tore this one apart to rework that ) KW K100 double bunk flat top Pete 359 with working roll back bed KW Jet Truck ( will be 3 of those jet engines on it ) Phantom KW StubNose KW K123 Day Cab with 27 ft box ( will have double 27 ft boxes ) -

Hello, Thanks for the input and no hard feeling on this end. You are correct the 1/25 scale kit cab is alot more detailed and correct than this one. I think I am going to cast it anyway as I think there is enough interest in it to pay for the mold work on it and I think with some refinement to the cab after casting and then recast it it would be a very good piece for the 1/32 scale builders as there is limited subject matter out there in that scale. -

Hey Justin I would think that the R Model mack would be a good donor kit and they are for sure cheap to pick up right now and you get a bonus tanker trailer -
I have been messing around with a GMC Top Kick Crew Cab and the amt/ertl Ford Louisville / LN8000 chassis seems to work pretty good under it but have only mocked it up so far so there might be a issue or two the further along it gets but it seems to work. The wheels and tires from the kit might be a bit big, maybe. I got the cab from Tim Sherman at All Seasons Collectable Toys, they came down and stayed with us a few days last week and he brought along the molds for it and let me cast myself one. He did say that he makes some 19.5 inch low profile tires and wheels for it, might end up getting some of those for it.

Hey Charles Far as I know they never made a 1/32 scale Cruiseliner, this cab was made by the man who sent it to me, it is a reworked kit cab, not sure which one though. -

The cab dose have the Mack Letting above the grill, will have to take a look at the grill and get back to you on the number of bars. The larger grill has the mack letters on it so you would have to remove the lettering on the cab to use it. I will post some pics of it asap. Hey Jim I am looking for some good master for better tires and wheels, If you got any ideas on where to come up with some let me know. -
Hello Everybody Thinking of adding some 1/32 scale truck parts to our product line. Cabs, hoods etc. I have a master cab for a Mack Cruiseliner with two different grill options, interior tub, cab visor and front bumper. Just wanted to see if there is any interest out there in it before dipping it all in rubber. Let me know your thoughts on it. Thanks in advance !!!

Project 324" 379 Pete
Porky replied to Pollock's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Hey Josh, I do cast a 1/25 scale 379 conversion, I can send you a set of the fenders for it if you want to give them a try like Dennis said. Also have some pretty cool looking Pete Hot Rod fenders for a 359 in 1/25 scale that may look good on it. We have the KTA600 Cummins but I guess it would be too old of an engine for this project but I think I have a couple of those Ford Aeromax kits somewhere around here and one is missing tires and wheels so I would let the engine in it go too I guess. Whatever I can do to help out just let me know. -

Hey Josh That is looking pretty sweeeeeeet !!! I like seeing pics of our parts being used. I noticed you siad you wated to get some of our RF4 fenders for it but they are 1/25 scale and I don't think they will fit, all the rest of the rear fenders I am casting now are 1/24 scale and should work fine. -

Porky replied to scale trucker's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Hey Gordon Those are looking good, cant wait to see them both finished up. Hey Josh Looks like the 379 Ext. hood and the Ultra cab are my castings but the 386 I think is one that Dave at AITM offers. -
Hey Marshall If it is one of those cool hearses that you come up with shoot me an e-mail I might be interested.
