  1. Where are we going John?
  2. Tommy, please do not take this the wrong way but….why do you build models? And this question is for all the modelers reading this posting! Is it for the strokes and atta-boys you can receive on this forum and others... or is it for the good feelings you get upon seeing something you built your self? Do you build because you love gluing your fingers together with superglue at 11:30 in the evening or jabbing your palm with a #11 blade while cutting open a set of doors on that thick plastic rare Aurora model car body? OR... is the reason that you build because some sort of short-circuit in your brain which causes you to think "MODELS" whenever you see some little piece of shiny wire on the sidewalk or a cool little spring you’ve never saw before when you take a-part the latest ballpoint pen? I personally build because I am DRIVEN to build, create, paint, carve, solder and otherwise modify all the little bits of ###### and material within my small shear of influence. Ninety-nine percent of the stuff I build and create ends up in a box never to be seen by the general public… and I don’t really care. I build because I like to build! I don't usually post my projects on this forum UNLESS I feel it can help another modeler. Now, maybe you think I am picking on you and your motives for posting? Yes? NO! Everybody, including me, need positive feed back once in a while... however, please do not post on this forum and NOT expect the odd critique from a more experienced modeler who is just trying to help. OK? The reason you don’t get feed back may be because there is nothing to say. Now, my feedback is that your bike build is good! You paint well and the assembly was very clean. So clean that Ismael didn’t even know the scale. That is good and you should be commended. However, if your looking for comments you might next time try modifying the bike into something a little different. Mix and match the parts…. Add a cylinder to make a fantasy chopper…. Modify the seat for two persons and scratch build a sissy bar…. Turn a set of aluminum wheels or pay someone else to do it for you… Paint some flames on that tank… Cut and carve your own tank, rear fender, and front fender just like the guys on WCCC… In other words, make the bike your own design based on the Revell kit. Inspire us!!! I know you and all the rest of the readers in this forum have that in your hearts and minds…. JUST DO IT!
  3. I'll get to see it in person.... na, na, nah, na, na, nahhhhhh (too much? )
  4. Ouch? (and I thought I was harsh?)
  5. Jimmy is registered here! He says that he pops in from time to time but has yet to post.... Come on Jim, post something! Your friends are waiting....
  6. No rest for the wicked, eh Ismael?
  7. This thread is dangerously close to being DELEATED!
  8. Technical pen and india ink is what I used. Requires it to be done freehand.... Why, Stefan? You have a better idea?
  9. I think he's building a Lotus Gregg. (Who is Gordon?) :?: :?:
  10. Gregg, Hold your breath for a couple of years and a Clinton may end up back in the White House. Hey, what about a section just for political and social rants? Call it "Freeblog"! Give Zeb a room to vent in..... ?
  11. Zeb, wrong forum. We like to get away from all the political stuff here and talk models. You should probably take your rants about Republicrats elsewhere... Thanks.
  12. I finished another one, an Indy car this time driven by Johnny Boyd back in 1967. The “PRESTONE Special†unfortunately retired after only 6 laps due to an untimely accident. The car here is based on an original Lancer mold. Besides paint, this car features decals placed inside using decal set prior to painting, a fully detailed driver and many separate detail pieces. The coolest of those pieces are the turned aluminum injector stacks, which are available through “Parts by Parksâ€. ( http://www.scaledreams.com/PARTSBY.HTM )
  13. Welcome Bill! To anybody watching... Bill used his real name as his "handle" and therefore dosn't require putting it in the signature box!
  14. If the white letters are raised quite a bit... you can use a wide brush and paint some Acrylic flat white onto a piece of glass and press the tire into the fresh paint. Works for me! 8)
  15. What hair Gregg? Ken, it wasn't your fault and don't beat yourself up any more. What's done is done! Ok, that said... In the future, guys, and in light of recent events I think that confirmation might be a good idea prior to posting any news. That goes for posting rumors about any new model kits too... We now return you to your regular scheduled program...
  16. PM's are working.. you can give a big thank you to papa Gregg for fixing it! Hurraayy!
  17. Gregg has been doing updates to the software. Might have forgotten to turn something back on. I'll let him know.
  18. No, I didn't do the box art. I did the 4 pieces on the Revell web site as illustrations of what the bikes "might" look like. At that time the molds were still being machined. Ed hinted that I would get to do the final box artwork, and I bugged him at least once later on... I guess they wanted to keep it in-house. Looks ok, just not very edgy or WCC like. Oh well!
  19. Could one of you guys please post the box art Revell used. Thank you!
  20. It should, I drove one in that color and interior for 7 years! It was a Grande' not a convertible but same color inside and out. Only 15 years old when I first bought it with less than a 90,000 miles on the clock. Oh yes, the clock worked as did the air.... wish I still had that car...
  21. zeb, Gregg and I don't always join in the chat room every day due to other demands on our time. However, once in a while we do drop in on a chat either Friday or Saturday night between those times. But not EVERY Friday and Saturday! Sheesh.. I still gotta' life even if the wife left me, the kids have moved away and the cat won't speak to me anymore. Yah know?
  22. Freeking Fantastic building and photography! Beautiful, just beautiful. Jairus
  23. So the primer dosn't show as a thin line around the letter upon polishing... I think. J
  24. Neat trick! Judges love to see that sort of stuff at contests... 8)
