  1. Here's an idea for you: Balloon type landing gear wheels for the front axle. Huh? Huh? Huh?

Very nice! You captured the look and feel of a well loved piece of VeeWee history. Bravo! 8)
  3. Welcome aboard! I suggest you read the FAQ section of this board as it should answer all your questions. 8)
  4. Sorry guys, but we'll do it again. Maybe next Friday... same bat time, same bat channel! By the way, there will still be a model chat on PSAB tonight. Gregg and i will be out of town and cannot play... but check out the link anyway. Have a great 4th and be careful! 8)
  5. Gregg and Jairus are on line at PSAB (link above). Get in right away because we won't be doing this for too long. The pizza is in the oven!
  6. Hmm, I thought I did? Santiago, I don't call anybody names, I simply encourage people to follow the rules. Welcome aboard.
  7. Revell did a Willys pickup... I don't remember a switch able pickup/coupe from AMT. If it had the engine then look on ebay. Must be old if I don't remember it, but I was into rails and funny cars back then. At any rate, there is a Buick nail head engine in the AMT Buick Riveria. Beautiful engine that! AMT also had rather crude Buick engine in one of their street rod kits... I think it was a '40 Ford. Hope that helps... but I fear that doesn’t...
  8. Could be!!! Actually we are planning on watching the forum Friday afternoon, June 30th, 4 - 6 PM PST, and talking directly on a model car chat room. If anyone wants to join us around that time then click here: http://client.sigmachat.com/sc.pl?id=12510
  9. Hey guys! Gregg got in at 7:15 this morning... maybe we can coax him into joining us.... huh?
  10. ######, that's hot looking! I can see it in lime green... very nice job so far. Please keep us informed as to progress. 8)
  11. Looks like it might make a good cover photo even! Very nice photography too! I remember building that truck when I was in High School. I still have much of the parts spread out all over in parts boxes. I don't remember the hood ornament... but I have an airbag?!?! I think I chopped up the drive shaft trying to make mine a into a 3 axle drive... pretty lame I know...
  12. Gregg will be visiting me for a couple of weeks this July (arriving at PDX Tuesday June 26th). We will be punching out the next issue, writing up some cool new How To articles and maybe taking in a couple of local shows. I am sure that more than a few evenings will be spent talking to you's guys here at MCM forums. It'll be fun if we can get some dialog going about life, the state of modeling and maybe some discussion about trends for the future. I'm looking forward to it and I hope you all will tune in to this thread for updates. 8)
  13. Guys, this is the type of build I LIKE to see in MCM forums. Step by step coupled with quality building and first class presentation. WAY TO GO BILL!
  14. Looks fantastic. Love the color!!! Hurry up with that trailer... I need a pic!
  15. Billy, I am not going to regulate this forum unless it's to remove offensive material. If you guys want to post pictures of car shows that is up to you as I believe the forum belongs to the members. As long as you put the show and maybe a date in the subject line I don't see a problem.
  16. Hey Mr ASS, welcome aboard! Can I call you SICK? There are never enough large scale modelers here and you are welcome to post pictures and messages with the best of them. However, at the risk of offending you....we have only a couple of rules here on MCM forums and the most important is that you post your real name in the signature box. Please! Thank you in advance and looking forward to seeing more of your work.
  17. The forum category is set for 1:1 cars and another for 1:1 trucks. My suggestion is be careful about thread starters. Make sure that the heading spells out the contents within and that the contributed pictures are divided up into common topics. Such as Stock, Racing, Street Rod, Rat Rod, Show cars, etc. Otherwise, it will become a huge mess very quickly where no one will be able to find what they are looking for.... Enjoy! 8)
  18. We have one! You can find it at "SoCalCarCulture" which is maintained by Dave Lindsey and here is the link to his huge and fantastic web site: http://www.socalcarculture.com/
  19. In the hopes of answering all your questions… I am posting these pictures of the Rat Rod. Engine is indeed a V12 made by gluing the front 6 cylinders of one block and the rear 6 cylinders of another Monogram 1950 Ford pickup block. The hard part was hiding the seam of course. Radiator is American LaFrance from the Fire Engine however I replaced the core with photoetched screen stacked about 4 – 6 layers thick so you can actually see through it. Note the dried antifreeze stains! Brass bent into a steering knuckle and a steel pin insure that the steering will remain strong and move smoothly. On the floor is a red tool box/tray. The driver’s right hand is holding the knob of a long shift-lever. In his lap is a pearl handled revolver. Note the cotton “smokeâ€. Enjoy. 8)
  20. Tom, It's made up mostly from parts in my junk box! But this is what I remember.... Front radiator is the Fire Truck. Wheels are AMT '36 Ford. Body is from Revell or AMT parts pack. Driver - Boothill Express Engine - couple of '50 Monogram pickup blocks Frame....i think I built it. Front axle - Revell '31 Ford Intake manifold - 2 '50 Ford pieces AMT Rear axle - I don't remember Fuel Tank - Piewagon Taillight - T'rantula headlight with red bullet lense. Headlights... I don't know That's about it... 8)
  21. Welcome aboard Alan! 8)
  22. Hmmmm, the original canopy is pretty thick.... How about using the original to vacuum form a few extras in Butyrate so you can practice different techniques. Don't weather the canopy too much 'cause you want to see the details within... 8)
  23. Oooooo I Like it!!!! At the start of WWII the Germans had converted all areo engines to fuel injection and were supercharged as well. The engine your building is a "What If" of course and not subject to the rules of reality... But, you could do some simple research and make sure that you paint and detail correctly. Thus, the car becomes more believable for the viewer. Supercharging, if used was always the vane type. It would be neat if you inverted the engine like the DB 601, but I really like what you have done so far.
