reference photos needed
Jairus replied to Mack_Mechanic's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
The first is the drivers side of a NTC-350. The brochure didn't have the passengers side so I used the image from a NTC-290. It should be pretty close for detailing purposes. No other pictures but lots of stats in the brochures. 8) -

It matters because forum rules require that your name is posted on each message. Simplest way to do that is to put it in the signature box in your profile section. People flame less and behave better if their name is posted with their message. 4 our of 5 doctors agree with this1  -
nonova, I will do some looking into this but first could you please post your name in your signature box? Hit the profile link at the top of the forum and make the change, click submit. Thank you!

Glad I could help! 8)

Well, how-ever you do it I would love to see the details. I am building a Sunliner...going on many years now. I sourced the grille from Revell's '55 Juke Box Ford. The width is right on but the grille detail is a little shallow... Most everything else is simply a matter of basic modeling, except the rear trunk trim. That piece has got me pretty much stopped. So it sits up there on the shelve with the 25 or so other projects.... And... that trunk mounted trim piece was on ALL Fairlane series cars including the Sunliner and Victoria! The only Fords that didn't have it were the Mainline and Customline. You don't want to leave it off unless your building a street machine or hot rod.

rimtruckin, OK, couple of things, you need to look into your photo hosting and make sure that all settings are set for public viewing otherwise no one can view them without in-putting a password. Sorry! The other thing... could you please put your name, first and last, in the signature box of the profile section of this forum. Thank you, 8) -
Bill, I know that your at NNL East (Hope you had fun while the rest of us worked) but I was wondering what your doing for a grille? Also could you please post pictures of the decklid trim....? :-) Jairus

Thanks guys! Your the best... I thought I remembered an ElCamino with the the same name but didn't remember the actual Knight and horsy decal. Maybe that was a bonus Revell added to the sheet. Thanks again.

Hey, you jogged my memory! I seem to remember a really nice set of 3 two bbl carb's in the '62 T-bird. I parted mine out just as soon as I got it... no telling where the carbs went.. If I find it I'll send you a PM.

Steve, I was hoping Gregg or someone else might be able to answer this question for you. Since nobody has ... I decided to at least type you some form of answer! No! Carburetors and brake backing plates are usually the least detailed items in any model kit, vintage or modern! The part number for me is the best way to distinguish which pointy blob of plastic on the parts tree is actually the carb. Reasons for this are numerous but the least of which is the fact that they are complex and their parts too small once reduced to 1/25 scale to even determine which end is the front. Add to the fact that the air cleaner usually covers up 80% of the carburetor from the mid 60's and up. The best way for you to find a Holly 2 bbl is to look for the plastic kit of a car that actually had one on it. Then.. scratch build your own! 8)

The following was received in my inbox yesterday from an MCM reader: --Gentlemen, I'm the person who was looking for a resin 51 Merc. Custom a year or so ago... And I would like to thank you very much for your help. I hope you can help me again. What I'm looking for is a decal sheet that has the name Black Knight, with an image of a Knight riding a horse on it. I believe it may be from a Riveria or a G.T.O. kit. If you or your readers can help me out with finding one or information where to find one… It would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again. Gene "THUMPER" Koski thumperg@aol.com-- If anyone knows the answer to this question... I would love to be enlightned!

Rob, could you please put your name, first and last, in the signature box found in the profile section of this forum. Thank you very much.... 8) Mark is building a Lotus Super Seven... probably his third and best so far.

camaroman, You mean like this: Photos courtesy of Dave Lindsay/SoCalCarCulture.com (Thank you Dave ) Ron Cash Models did the resin but he is no longer in business. Keep your eyes on the auction sites as one might pop up. 8)

Impressive! Yes, I am very impressed indeed! Thank you for posting.... 8)

Dave, Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I have been VERY busy trying to make a living and just this evening took a break to read over all the postings. I think you should mail the model! I don't really believe it's the post office's fault that your wiper fell off. Unless you sent it via UPS! Either you didn't attach the parts securely in the first place or whoever handled it was careless. In any case, packing for shipping is your responsibility and good info on this subject has been published time and time again. Besides, I would love to see that car on the tables at our Pacific NorthWest Model Fest 2006!!! You can mail your car to me and I will make sure that it gets returned to you safely. PM me and I will return my addy!

As requested, here's some more scratchbuilt goodies...

Mark, Just thought you'd like to know that you made the "Slotblog" forum site! Someone saw your stuff here and posted a link on Slotblog. Of course the reviews were good... mostly they were simply blown away with your attention to detail. Maybe they didn't realize that your actually taking pictures of real car parts.... Hmmm, you should get your thumb in the picture next time like Bob Paeth used to...
