Idea for a new addition to the forum.
Jairus replied to camaroman's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Sounds like a good idea! Might not need a special column all by it'self but still very possible under General stuff. I don't receive any of the new kits unless I buy them but maybe we can twist Greggs arm to post pics prior to publication. 8) -
Post your ford street rods please

Jah Bill, The headlights... might be from the '39 Chev... I forget, it was a long time ago and I'm getting up there in years. That would be the Revell/Monogram 39 Chev! Pretty sure now that I checked the box... they are missing so I must have used them! Give that a try. Sorry for the missinformation. -

Gray, The "Future Rod" look is not popular right now and thus I am not working on anything like that. Rat Rods, Nostalgia Rods, and Vintage look is the most dominant theme currently. The 2032 roadster was neat to build and I am glad you like it. I can dig it out and shoot a few pics but not right now. Too many responsibilities.... 8) -
Welcome aboard Mal! It's always good to have another citizen from "Down under" join us. 8)

I have no secrets.... that is why I write how-to's for MCM. The Duval windshield is hand made out of a sheet of aluminum. The skull shift knob is resin from some resin caster.... I think. (I actually made my own skull knob once by grinding away hair, eyeballs and such from a 1/32 plastic figure) The headlights are Monogram 1936 Ford. 8) -

Lincoln V12? Yes, my version of a Lincoln using two V8's trimmed for glueing! Actually a Monogram Lincoln will end up being slightly smaller... but the effect non the less cool! GO FOR IT! 8) -

Hey Doug.. You have a good time? You left with a big smile on your face.... Actually, to anyone not attending... We all had a great time at the best show in the Pacific Northwest! Period! Thank you to all who helped put it on, contact vendors, contact contributors, collect prizes, announce raffle tickets, etc, etc! A great time to be had by all! 8)

Yeah, thanks Darin! Please no down loading for evil or moneymaking schemes please. Other wise that site will be gone the next day! Speaking of which.. I need to add another page of neat pics... 8)

Need to find Firestone racing tires
Jairus replied to S10man's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Sure, but your going to need to figure out the correct sizes you need before you buy. This link: http://www.professormotor.com/tirecentral.shtml Professor Motor specializes in realistic and replacement parts for vintage slot cars. Some of the tires they offer are not actually rubber but silicone. The sidewall/tread detailing on most of the tires is set in the mid 60's during the heyday of the slot car which is perfect for your project Click on the HTML code in the "Other Silicones & Euro Type Tires" column. Search for the tires you want based on the vehicle type. I would email Professior motor for a pic and exact spec.s before buying to make sure. Since this is a static model and not a slot car the tires don't have to be an exact tight fit... they simply have to look right! Right? Good luck! -
i'm here hello everybody

Welcome Ricky! Take off your pants and slide on the ice.... 8) -
Actually, the 371 was gold between 1959 - 60. While the 394 was green during the same period. I could not find info on the 351...

Neither gold nor any possessions should ever be put before the love of our children! Nothing is more important in my opinion. What a handsome looking modeler he is Bobby, you have much to be proud of! Did I ever show you pictures of my kids...?

Gregg, I have no idea why you cannot post... you'll have to ask one of the moderators on that site.

Oh, he builds... he just dosn't always finish them (Yeah, like I'm one to talk)

Mark, when you finish up that Galaxie trailer I might have an offer for you...

Hi BKH2, I would love to make your acquaintance. So, to that end, could you please put your real name in the signature box of your profile section on this board? Then, everyone will be able to say that "I knew him when..."! Thanks. 8)

I do! I do! Corvair Corsa Sprint... I learned to drive stick on one actually! Very fast, 160 hp flat six, 4 carbs and a cooked spare tire over the engine. We had a Craig 8 track in ours and it took at least 30 min's to clear the front window on a wet morning. I got stranded with a bad fuel pump once and disassembled it with a pair of pliers and a bottle opener, swapped the two valves, and was back on the road in about a half an hour. Never threw a belt though.... ...are you still reading this? Man I feel old....

Some of my completed work

Nice builds Wayne, welcome aboard! 8) -
Depends on the image size of pictures posted in that thread. We are working an image host program that sizes pictures automatically. Until then, when posting pictures, keep the size to about 150kb. Or... 9 X 7... 8)

When shooting, change the resolution on the camera to a lower setting. I have an Olympus and the best setting is "SQ1". If you have a computer image program... change the width setting to about 8 inches across at 72dpi.

I disagree! This should be the LAST forum that you register for! Welcome aboard Aaron!

You'd be better off spraying gloss black and then Alclad, OR polishing the metal over using bare metal on a set of slot car wheels. Yes, you COULD do it but your time could be better spent doing something else more productive... like trash pickup along the interstate or habitat for humanity! In my humble opinion… of course! 8)

Holy Cow, the quality rating of this board just went up a couple of notches! I am very excited to see further updates on this build. Welcome aboard jbwelda!
