It's all a because of marketing and possibly stupid people in charge who don't understand what's popular. Before HobbyCo purchased Revell most of the guys in charge just wanted to collect a paycheck and do as little as possible. A lot of that was corrected after the buyout. AMT, on the other hand, fired anyone who showed initiative or made too much money. While it is true that many molds are damaged or too worn for further production.. It is also true that some molds are simply LOST! They just don’t know where there are…. Another reason is, or could be, because the bean-counters don’t think an available mold will sell well enough to justify production of 20,000 kits. Sure a lot of the adult market would buy one or two kits each but frankly that might only be a couple thousand kits. What is AMT or Revell going to do with the balance of the kits if the big box stores fail to sell it? Production and storage costs $! Best course of action is to post your wishes on this and other forums. Then maybe someone at Revell or AMT will read it. I personally have sent links to this forum more than a half dozen times to the cool guys at Revell. I am pretty sure that they watch MCM Forums and Hobby Heaven at least once in a while…..

Mark, YOU are controversial... you don't need to add the avatar to make it so... Hey guys, add me to the list! By the way, I am thinking that this thread should be moved to the Rants and Raves section due to the fact that the bulk of it is OT! Or, I can delete the ###### that is OT.... Or, since James2 has yet to post HIS NAME as requested, I can delete the whole bloody thing!

William, Do I have to remind you that freedom of speech is not free! It was paid for by millions of people who gave their lives for its purchase. This forum is not a free-for-all for anything you want to post or say. We have a certain decorum that must be maintained here or chaos will surly rue the day. The basic rules are no personal attacks and no foul language. Political speech and discussion on religious subjects are to be kept to the Rants and Raves section. If James2 wants to post a picture of the disgraced flag there then so be it but I see no distress where life is in dire danger. Using the upside down flag as his avatar makes it available in ANY thread and any forum subject he posts in. Thus it ends up being posted and making a statement in the wrong forum. Avatars with objectionable images will not be allowed on MCM forums. This is a model car forum and we should all be mindful of this.

Andy, Can you be more specific? I have maybe 135 of 183 total Cartoons magazines... How about a date, or a year? -

Jairus replied to BIGTRUCK's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I collect Cartoons magazine, Hot Rod Cartoons Magazine, Cycletoons, Surftoons and Skitoons. I am one away from having all Cycletoons and one away from having all Surftoons ever published. -

William, just where do you think it ended up.... :?: -
made007, Forum rules state that you MUST post your name when registering with a handle. Please make your way to the Profile section and put your first and last name in the Signature text box at your earliest possible convenience. Thank you. 8)

Model King, Stevens International and anyone with the bucks can get a run of model kits out of AMT or Revell. All you gotta do is tell them what you want, provide the box artwork and pay'm. They then deliver you 10 pallets of model car kits boxed and ready to go. You, on the other hand, get to sell them!

Enamel paint is about all that will work for that type of application. -
Wow, cheesy picture... where's the wine? Seriously folks, this is a neat build of an old classic that I passed up on the Coronet department store shelves for a "Turbosonic" dragster!

Mark, Could you please do us all a favor and continue posting updates on this thread? The Super 7 build is broken up into a bunch of little threads and if someone wanted to use the info they might miss a piece during the search. I too am interested in seeing this project through to completion, Thank you!

I'd say that your last suggestion is probably the correct one. The curing process is a chemical reaction. If there is one chemical missing due to age then the reaction will not happen or the process was slowed to a crawl. You could try a little heat to aid the cure but fresh materials would prob. be best.

Is there a pic limit per post ?
Jairus replied to david@Minidreams inc.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
David, The software for this forum goes to a new page after a set number of posts have been added to a thread. The posts can be nothing more than a few lines of copy or contain lots of pictures... it doesn’t matter to the system. If all the posts contained lots of pictures then page could take nearly a minute to load if dialup is used. So, the rule of thumb is keeping the number of pictures down to 4 or 5 per post. That way it won't take so long for a thread page to load on your screen. If you have 10 pictures to post then break it up into two posts, one after another. And like FlatbedKW says, maybe weeding out and only posting the best pictures might be a good idea... 8) -
Hmmmm, wish I had thought of that!

My personal opinion is that the 1969 Mustang marks the pinnacle of the brand styling. 1970 on the other hand was a move away from that formula! (Really makes me wonder why they didn't use a curved cove panel between the taillights....)1971 was completely wrong even tho I owned one and loved it.... it was too hard to see out of the back window and there were too many styling goofs in the design. I love your sketches and some of your ideas could easily make the current car more "retro". But Ford's track record is that once a winning design has been done, they milk it until sales slow and then slowly re-design it to death. (GM on the other hand just kills them.... ) How about fender top creases? Something both Camaro and Mustang and Charger retro designs left off?

Hope to see you sometime BEFORE '09 GSL :-)
