Chuck Pooles "Chuckwagon" Wheelstander
John Teresi replied to John Teresi's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Anthony......thank you for the kind comments........I got to know Mr. Poole through T.V. Tommy Ivo......Mr. Poole sent me some reference pictures of this truck but it did have a different paint scheme.......it took him awhile to remember this paint scheme........he said back then he changed the paint job almost every week because of crashes and of sponsors back then......he said that he thought this paint job was the ugliest of all his paint schemes........but I told him I liked it because it looked like a challenge........anyway he said that a "little person" painted it and the guy had ropes tied to rafters and he would swing around to paint.......I just thought you would want to know.......thank`s again. -

Jody......I cut 4 pieces of the medical tape for each side of the chute......the medical tape has a pretty good adhesive ......but before I apply each piece......I spread some super glue on the chute before I apply each corner piece.......hope this helps.......thank`s
-
Jody......on this Army f/c I used sports textured bandage wrap.........but I think it has a little to much texture.......now i`m using medical textured tape.......it has a little less texture and I think it look a little better........you can get it at any medical store and cost around 2 bucks.......you can also use it for covering seats or headliners etc.......you can airbrush over it or hand paint it.......thank`s for asking.

Hello......another older build......thank`s to "Model Cars" forum I can share some of my older stuff......I bought this original MPC 'Dyno Don" Eliminator Cougar f/c from ebay......this was one of my favorite funny cars of the 60`s.......and I had this kit as a kid.......I have been trying to collect and build most of the models I had as a kid......wired and plumbed......H.O.K. kandy apple red.......the decals were shot except for the roof sides.......I was so up set about the decals because when I put them in the water they fell apart.........well I decided to airbrush and hand paint the hood and trunk using a yellow and red and orange lace pattern then I went over that with various colored pens...... I tried to match the roof side decals that were good.......well I was happy with the results.....but wasn`t happy when I found out that slicks was making a repo of this decal set......oh well.....has anybody used a set of slixx decals for this kit?.......how did they work?
