Sure Bob.......from Michaels arts and crafts store you need: "folk art" brand black acrylic paint and dark grey acrylic paint .....they cost around 89 cents each.......first I sand the flat part of the slick with 320 grit sand paper and then go over it again slightly with 800 grit sand paper......then I paint the whole tire with a couple of diluted coats of the black paint......I let it dry for about an hour........then I apply the decal with the red micro set solution.....I let that dry for another hour....... then diluted with water I paint over the sidewall of the tire with the dark grey paint.......you want the paint diluted good ......you can put as many coats on as you like ......I put around 5 coats.......I let each coat dry ......I usually do this on a hot day......after the tire is done and dry and you like it.......I airbrush the tire with dull coat for protection......you don`t need to but I like to do it.......hope I helped you?.....thank`s John

Thankyou everyone for your warm comments.......I really take them to heart.......I have always had a passion for models as a kid....especially drag cars......I do compete at model car contest......but when I get comments like this from you guys.....it feels better than winning any kind of award.......I thank you all so much. -
Thank`s Warren.......this is one of the photos I used to make the replica model of your car.
-
Warren.....thank you for nice comments......I do have reference pictures that I used to make this model and one photo shows the blower hat backwards ......I will post the picture......I would be honored to make you a model ......I have made the "wagon Master" for Tommy Ivo.....and the Chuck Poole wheelstander for Mr. Poole........If you are interested I will give you a fair price ......I would just need to have good reference pictures of the chassis and engine detail......I only had a few pictures to go buy.......the more photos I have the better the model will be........P.M me and I can send you pictures of some of the work I do......I would like to get a autograph from you if possible......Thank`s John

Harry.....nice picture......I also made that version of the bug......I`ll post it soon......I really don`t know why they ran the blower hat backwards......but it was like that in the reference pictures I used......I also made the "Color Me Gone" charger f/c......it also ran with the blower hat backwards.......when I made these cars I had to take a second look to see if my eyes were playing tricks on me.......maybe someone knows the answer????
-
Some drag cars ran the blower hat backwards in the 60`s........this one did,but didn`t run very good. This is a 1/24 scale.thank`s
