  1. Sow's ear to silk purse...
  2. I was part of the tear-down and restoration of the 1:1 of this type Dino. Your model is beautifully built and finished. It can be prototypically more correct with zero or a bit of negative rear camber and a slightly lower ride height. Great, meticulous job.
  3. You guys are making way too much out of this 'icon'... http://www.bloomberg...video/91741471/
  4. Just watched the Yanks come back from 9-0 deficit and kill Red Sox 15-9!!! good bye Bobby V. :D
  5. Bill-great job. What finish did you apply to the wheels? They look great.
  6. Super build of a modest kit Eric! Neat as a pin and sits just right-you've captured it. Now apply those great skills to Trump's 1/12 version...!
  7. Bill, Any progress to make us drool over??
  8. OK Terry-I'll 'make your thread--- "What's a Henway???"
  9. If I do it, I see it as fly also or killer black-lots of subtle blacks -help unify the seams and shuts...
  10. Keith-forgot to thank you for informing us. Pete will too it seems. I am REALLY sitting on the fence with this and much less so for the effort that Tammy put forth. I just can't love the 1:1 quite enough to make this commitment-especially adding expected aftermarket items. Now if it was the McLaren F1 or if Tammy did my beloved GT-40 MK II instead of Trumpys partial effort... I'll keep following progress-maybe inspiration will catch me.
  11. Keith, Does it seem to you like good value for money ($600+ list, $300+ street px)? Or too early to tell?
  12. Hmmmmm. The McLaren F1... Done as diecasts but to my knowledge not a kit-certainly not 1/12. Can't be 'licensing' - so many McLaren race cars in 1/12 and 1/20. Technical interest: mid-mounted driver, gull doors, BMW power, and still beautiful form and proportions to this day. I'd pay $300 for that gladly.
  13. I have the very same reservations that you do Erik. If I buy it, it will be for the build enjoyment of the Tammy kit. The Enzo is a somewhat mediocre supercar by current standards. If this kit were a McLaren F1 or Veyron I would surely buy. Both those are aesthetically and technically more interesting to me. I think black overall would improve the Enzo a bit. Make all those joins, moldings and shutlines disappear.
  14. Yes, Wimbledon is lighter than that. I have it on my 1:1.
  15. Your point on value may be true Erik but I don't own any other Enzos so it would be worth it to me. A Tamiya experience is seldom a disappointment. I agree with your assessment of paint finish-it doesn't say on their site but the finished model is always shown red (12047).
  16. Anyone know if kit #12047 (the full assemble-it-yourself model) comes pre-painted red? I think I'd like to do a fly yellow or black but hate to strip a pre-painted finish...
  17. Great news-thanks Pete.
  18. Yes, we know Deputy Fife... . Ever deal with those retailers??
  19. Yes I saw that ad just today; it's actually $288+shipping. Very tempting. But I had read on other boards some negative comments about either this "Hobby Link Japan" or "Hobby Linc". Can't remember which but the comments were the usual- too long or no delivery, no replies to emails or calls, high ship rates. I'm hesitant to order because of what I'd seen. It wasn't very recent maybe 6 months to a year ago. Does anyone have feedback on these two similarly named retailers??
  20. Welcome Art-lot of 'off-the-beaten-path' models you've shown there. Very imaginative and well presented. My fave is the Viper which lends itself to Mod / Funny car very well. Plus you've done anodized wheels somehow-great look. Post plenty-it's nice to have fresh material on board.
  21. You've nailed the vibe and the details-keep going!
  22. Bummer! No more break dancing for you! Wishing you a speedy recovery and no pain Tom.
  23. 'Artificially' drying in a dehydrator will advance those times radically.
  24. So you're apparently not interested in fit -only finish...
  25. Welcome to the forum. You've got a great building style-post more. You may be or first Latin Kamikaze!
