Revell 1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Continental?
Cato replied to Cato's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Thanks Matt and Rudy-exactly what I was looking for. If Matt is correct and the kit has those problems-they are fixable at least, with a good amount of work. That's what the builder Rudy has shown accomplished-which means I could salvage it to a higher level than it comes. I was basically hoping for accurate dimensions, content and proportions. Working latches is a little beyond my skill and desire set but the rest is very do-able. Thanks. -
Anyone have experience with this recent 1/16 release? http://www.revell.co...rs/80-7459.html

How Do You Display Your Completed Models?

A bunch of these. All glass, frames for bases, all self-made. See my how-to in MCM #156: -

Just imagine if it had 100 less horsepower and weighed 1000 pounds less- like mine... -

silver leaf in place of bare metal foil?
Cato replied to foxbat426's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Bill has it right. I've tried it and it's touchy to work with and won't burnish down like BMF-especially on larger flat areas. Always has that 'leafy' wrinkle to it except on very small things like door locks. The adhesive is called 'sizing' and sign painters used it for silver and gold leafing. Just really tough to work with and very fragile. -

Mike, I saw the issue with the '67 Impala Pro Mod from the UK on the cover-fabulous. Is that a monthly mag and who is the importer? -
Pro Tech's new 1/16 scale 5 Point Racing Harness
Cato replied to Pro Tech's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Awwwwww mannnnnn! When you DO start 1/12 stuff please do the 3" wide race harnesses (5 point)-not the spaghetti 2" ###### that has been kit supplied. -
Corvair Jim, I think the Crown kit used a Porsche transaxle.....foggy remembrances.

Pro Tech's new 1/16 scale 5 Point Racing Harness

Thanks for the feedback Charlie and glad the thread magically reappeared! So we're waiting for the 1/12 and 1/8 lines of product. Done yet??? -
Roger and out.

Harry-not breaking your shoes. Have complete understanding of the rule as explained and agree. But, IIRC, Charlie did not post a price in the deleted thread. I didn't see that as different from 'Here's the box art I just did-it's coming in 2012'. Ironically, in the link I posted above, he did post a price yet the thread still stands. I know- stuff happens...

Thanks for the clarification. Maybe these are over that border: http://www.modelcars...showtopic=48411 http://www.modelcars...showtopic=48125

OK then if a thread is deleted, can the guys that asked questions be notified so they can contact the party privately? BTW I see many PE parts and resin-related threads showing new products or who manufactures them not deleted.
-
I know my eyes are bad but-Charlie from ProTech posted a thread in 'Big Boyz' regarding his new 1/16 seat harness hardware. I asked him some questions there but now-where's the thread??

Pro Tech's new 1/16 scale 5 Point Racing Harness
Cato replied to Pro Tech's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Cool parts Charlie! If I see that right, the 'pull through' of the belts gets painted the same color as the belt material? Very clever if so. And the pewter buffs-up nicely. How about a line of 1/12 stuff for hackers like me?? Clamps, straps, oil lines, harness hardware...on and on. -
You built the front-engined, blown small block... A popular modification back then was a small block mounted behind the front seat. A company called Crown Mfg. made the framework, headers and engine mounts for that conversion. It actually made it a very good and fast sports car for it's day. Why not try that with your next one?

Here is the restored CSX 3015-the 'Bill Cosby' Super Snake. Not a 'sleeper' hood scoop but you can use up two of those McC's in one build:
