  1. Thanks again! DumpyDan, the T@b is all scratch built by me. There's some photos of it here at this site at page 16 or so.
  2. Thank you all ! This one was fun to build. I only wish I could have it in 1:1 as I have that T@b for my summer caravan journeys.
  3. This one started to build up, when I needed some rough vehicle to tow the T@b OffRoad caravan. I took the big axles from a monster pickup and the engine between the front seats is taken from Buick GNX. It's a V6 turbocharged and intercooled. The watercooler is in the back, where the original engine used to sit. The aircleaner can be seen behind the VW logo. On the roof is a solar panel, tv-antenna and two spare wheels. Inside you can find a refrigerator, flat tv and something good to eat.
  4. Thanks everyone! Any pictures of that Teardrop, PatW?
  5. I know this is not a car, but there was another camper here little earlier, so here we go. No model kit available to build this little camper, so I made it myself from top to bottom. I have had the 1:1 T@b for five years now, and made several great journeys with it. So why not make a model of it as well. -73 El Camino is there just for fun. There will be another tow car later on.
  6. May I be the first to say: I'm stunned! Surprisingly well does these two meet together. Not sure if it's really pretty but surely different and well executed. Good work! And those wheels are just perfect.
  7. Thanks Jim! While building this model I thougt there might be a race where this kind of classics with modern technic and lots of aero wings could be driven. When a suitable donor model body comes along I'm gonna build another one too.
  8. Yes yes that's the video where I spotted this roaring Superbird! In the technical info they say it had a 800 hp Nascar engine in it. They also say the front tires didn't turn enough, that's why the driving wasn't so impressive. But I think the Superbird looked superb. I as a modeller haven't ever cared much, what engine I use in my models, as long as it looks good and powerful. Thanks everybody for your kind comments! This one was a real fun to build, trying to make evrything as in 1:1 Drift Superbird had. I understand it still continues roaring around the drift track painted in blue colour.
  9. I wasn't sure, if I should put this street/ strip badass Chevelle here or with the other drag race models, I put it here, since this model has got a 1:1 role model back in the '90s, and it was driven from home to races and back as registered street car. This model was an AMT Chevelle stw, before I cut the roof off and made the opening flip bonnet. Many other modification were made also. BBC 454, bucket seats, scratch built dashboard and transmission tunnel, self made decals and so on. The red scallops were first taped and then brush painted. The front grill and the roll bar are scratch built too. The paint on the body isn't very shiny, as the 1:1 role model car wasn't so shiny either... GO not SHOW was the idea.
  10. This drifter had a 1:1 role model car in Sweden a few years ago. I saw a video of it in utube and it hit me hard. I used several Nascar parts and the rest is again scratch built. The no. 43 is a tribute for mr. R. Petty ofcourse.
  11. This one was just a 57 body. I started gathering parts from here and there, and the rest had to be made from scratch. A Nascar engine with a blower and intercooler, Nascar interior with rollbars and so on. Notice the flamethrowers in the rear! So here it is:
  12. Thank you for your kind comments. Maybe something interesting will pop up again by Reuhkapelti.
  13. Hey thanks for the kind comments! I think this is a funny car and it's fun to create a little story for it, like that city of Fossano. I just studied the map and picked up that city knowing nothing about it. Never even visited Italy, should though.
  14. I read an article in a Finnish car-magazine about this V8 powered sharp looking vehicle, and decided to make a model of it in 1:25 scale. I was quite sure there's no model kit available of this car, so I was free to choose what could be the starting point for this project. I had a Ford Thunderbird nascar-body lying around useless, so I gave it some heavy moulding and scratching. Here is the body before (pic 1) and after some cutting (pic 2). Then things started to happen... the interior is all scratch built too. Ford 351C under the bonnet, Jaguar rear axle under the chassis. This was quite hard project for me, and there was some moments when I thought will I ever get it finnished... So here it is, take a look. Edit. sorry somehow the pics are a bit mixed. Original body is pic. 3
  15. This one has seen many accidents, but faithfully has she delivered all the suffering victims to the Hospital of Fossano, northern Italy. To me, coming from Finland, that little city sounds a perfect place for this kind of ambulance. Fiat 500 Ambulanza has got the streches for the patient, a little bench for the nurse, and the engine is from Abarth, so she's got plenty of power to carry the load. The rear door can be closed, but since the model is several years old, I didn't want to take the risk of damaging anything by trying to shut it.
  16. This one was built many years ago, but I wanted to put it here under your eyes. I took a 2d ht Impala AMT kit and made a 4door sedan of it. The idea was to make a Big Apple taxi with the driver and other stuff. The roof is lifted a bit and there's a six in line engine under the bonnet. The trunk has green cotton like material all around it. The driver has a protection shield behind his seat. The seagull and the burger is made of blue tack and then painted. The driver is made of modelling clay, then painted. The umbrella is for the lady customers. Thanks for watching/ comments.
  17. Wow I didn't notice those intakes in the hood earlier! Very cool idea. I might copy that someday...
  18. Really nice work there! I made a 73 El Camino conversion using a 76 Chevelle nascar body.
  19. Thanks guys for your kind comments. But resin cast front end... too easy to make conversion. I like making my own modifications.
  20. I was in need to make a model of my 1:1 '70 Pontiac LeMans. The problem was, there is only the GTO model kit available, and the front end of these cars is totally different. Well let the saw sing and bring in the styreine and the putty. Here's the result of my efforts: The first cut is done. I also needed to make a new bonnet, as the original got wasted:
  21. I like this one. Great idea and looks very cool, the body work and the engine also. I wonder how the tail gate would open? Just the top section of it? Or would the tail lamps tilt too? Another question about this garage where your cool Pontiac is standing: What kind of material is the floor made of? This topic inspired me to open my Fujimi garage kits and I started to put them together. I made the walls already and all the equipment from the kit, including the car hoist and other staff. Just want to make as good looking floor as you have there.
  22. Thanks for the comments. I should have written a few words about this model as soon as I posted the pictures. Well, I will do it a bit later, I thought. Then the replies started to come... Yes there is a 1:1 car, and I saw a picture of it in local car magazine. I went online to look more info, and realized how cool this car really is. A must to make a model of it. I managed to buy a Lindberg 61 bubble top Impala model kit, and started to cut the body. I didn't use any parts from another kit, just styrene sheets and pipes and leftovers from the parts box. Oh exept the front seats, they are a bench seat from a Buick, cut in half. The rear window is the original from this kit. The dash board is also scratch built. The wheels are made from three different wheel parts clued together.
  23. Chevy Rewinged was made from '59 Impala tail, 58' Impala + 69 Riviera mid and '56 Bel Air modified to look more like '57 Chevy in the front end. The chassis was taken from a Ferrari as well as the interior. Painted with spraycans. I had to build this model twice, as the first version was destroyed by MrMuscle and a downfalling modelbox.
  24. 1973-77 El caminos are not available as models in this 1:25 scale, so I made one of my own. I've had two 1:1 -73 Elkys so it's a must. I started with this -76 Chevelle Nascar body. It had big wheel openings and a different front end, but that didn't stop me! The engine bay didn't get much of my energy, 409 with minimum detailing is enough, coz the hood is always shut.
