  1. Very nice Bernard! Your attention to detail is wonderful
  2. I just use Dow HS-III; no problems to report regardless of material; ie aluminum, resin, kit tires.
  3. Many thanks to everyone for the kind words!!! Power was out the last couple days due to the severe thunderstorms but got it back this AM so back to whittling down the backlog! As for 1/12th scale..............I can do that but it will take a while to make the master & I would like to know there's enuff interest out there to sell more than a couple pair. Thanks again :) :)
  4. '62 was the first year for the Monza. How 'bout a Facel Vega??
  5. Are these close enuff? I think they were made by Arii originally??? They come in wide & wider.
  6. REALLY awesome work!! Looks like it's ready to appear on Passtime!
  7. Thanks guys They are available but right now no more than 2pr per order 'cause I'm finally getting caught up on my backlog & want to keep it that way. Many thanks to all that have been waiting patiently!! E-mail or PM me for price info, please. They are moulded in medium/firm rubber so they do have a little stretch.
  8. Thanks for the intro Cuzzin George............ Here's the photos of what I sent him: The first is the Hoosier Pro D.O.T. & the second is the M/T Drag radial. Both come in 275-60x15 or 325-50x15. Thanks for lookin'
  9. 1/24th Packard Merlin 1/24th Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 page
  10. Thanks for all the good feedback guys Hoosier does make a 325-50x15 size so I could make them too. Since both sizes are 15" most kit wheels would work. Here is a comparison next to a F70-15 kit tire: And here are the steps to the finished tire: An aluminum master is made to the correct scale dimensions, a resin blank is cast from it, the resin blank is machined with the tread pattern & then a final mold is made from the resin master. There are 32 of those little slots on each side. A .020" end mill was used to make a slot .007" deep over a 2o arc. The tires are cast from 70 durometer urethane which is flexible, but firm. The lettering was sprayed using Krylon flat white. It dries fast & stays flexible. Any other questions/comments are welcome
  11. First off, thanks for the kind words Mike! I think your work is just as good Here's the 1st shot out of the mold: I tried to get as close as I could to the middle "PRO D.O.T." tire: Size is 275-60x15, 10" tread, 28" dia in scale. Stencils will be included with each order. I will also be making the tire on the right in the 2nd photo. These will be available as soon as I get the stencils in. Any other sizes that might be popular?? Thanks for looking
  12. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CUZ!! Hope you enjoy the day, get some plastic & lots o' cake It's also my mom's birthday - 83 years young!
  13. Thanks Bill. $2 gets you 208 resin bolts/nuts/studs. Shipping is $2 for up to 8 sheets.
  14. HAPPY BIRTHDAY young fella Looking forward to seeing you at NNL Eats on Friday nite.
  15. Not by NNL East, but the Norseman will be available shortly after. The Amphicar will a little after that. Lee - The Amphicar will probably be a full kit as I am working on the interior & engine too. No price yet but I'll post it on here when it's ready.
  16. Thanks Georgee-o Lee - The Amphicar & the Norseman will be out this spring.
  17. Matt - those are the Desert Dueller & Mud Dueller tires which are a little wider than the 1 Ton tires. Stewart - Thanks for the kind words!! Great job .........like the details ......can't wait to see it done!!
  18. O.K..............but what do I do with the rest???
  19. I had the box & model at NNL East a few years ago when the theme was "Gone but not forgotten" as a tribute to the model companies no longer in business. I heard at least one person say "I had that kit" Spot any other faux kits below?
  20. Well, he does live near the water! Good luck Jim & I'll see ya next trip to Sanford.
  21. Thanks VERY much guys! I appreciate the good wishes. Maybe I can get a senior discount now??
  22. I have to agree with Ryan. I couldn't come up with any additional info on resin sticking to a silicone mold like you described. With or without mold release the resin shouldn't get stuck to the mold.
  23. OH, SURE!!! NOW they have it!! If it was there in '82 for my honeymoon & I coulda taken the missus there!!
  24. That's pretty weird since all mold rubbers are silicone based, even the quick curing ones. I've used different resins with different mold rubbers & never had the resin stick to them. As a factory rep for Alumilite I'll look into it a little more to see what may have caused it & post my findings here. As a side note, if anyone out there needs 1oz mixing cups(smooth or graduated), I get them from a medical supply house for 1/2 a penny each. Be happy to share some with fellow casters for cost + postage.
