  1. Rob, the kit glass has some smears and marks on it and I have since cleaned it up as best as I can. AFAIC, this one is off the bench! I would like to thank all those who took the time to view and to comment on my WIP.
  2. This is my Overhaulin' style '65 Dodge A100 painted with Tamiya Mica Red over red primer. The wheels are Pegasus Chrome Ts.
  3. These pickup/vans from the early to mid '60's were unique for it's era. Chevy tried with it's Corvair platform and failed miserably in it's attempt. They had better luck with the truck chassis version. But, I will always like the Dodge A100 better because I am a Mopar fan.
  4. Thanks Sam, Dirk, and Danno! If there is one thing I would change about this build would be to have added heater hoses. Oh well, maybe next time...
  5. Thanks guys! I hope you have a lot of patience, 'cause you'll need it for one of these kits! This old tooling has made building this kit difficult for me at times. The worst part of this kit are the doors as the fit is terrible. I had lost interest in building this kit and now I just want to get it off the bench and move on to another (and perhaps a better) build. A major step forward today as the body and chassis are finally joined together after installing the windows and the instrument panel. I'm not sure what kit these exhaust pipes came from, but I drilled out the ends, painted the tips gloss black, and sprayed Alclad II Chrome paint on them. More to come...
  6. Thanks Shane, Steve, and Ben!
  7. Thank you Ray and Jim!
  8. Thanks Dirk, but be prepared to do some work if you are intent on using the Revell '68 hood on the AMT '67 Mustang...they don't fit together! The Revell hood is larger in width and length. I had tried to find the hood to AMT Fast and Furious '68 Mustang, but to no avail. If you are going to use the Revell hood for the louvers, be prepped and ready for major surgery.
  9. Thanks for the nice comments guys! Yeah, the color appears to be somewhat red in some of my pics and that must be the camera's fault. It does say to point and shoot!
  10. Here's the link to the finished '67 Mustang in Under Glass. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=36610
  11. The Story McNally stops at a gas station in Springfield to top off the Charger’s gas tank. He goes in to pay for the gas and asks if there is a phone book he could look through. The attendant takes his money and hands over a Springfield area phone book. He flips the pages to P and looks for Parregrin and finds only one…Derek Parregrin. The address shows 153 Shanna Road in Springfield itself. He hands back the book and thanks the attendant who only grunts something that might have been “Your welcome.” Back in the Charger, McNally enters the address into his GPS and finds the route to 153 Shanna Road starts the car and heads back onto the highway. The Build I started on the Caddy 390 CI engine this evening. I also started detailing the dash. McNally Will Return...
  12. Thanks Dirk! I have my Overhaulin' style '65 A100 back on the bench and my '59 Caddy is still under construction. Check them out!
  13. I am forging ahead with the A100 and I got a lot done on it today between running to the kitchen periodically to check on the turkey in the oven. I detailed painted the rotors and installed them onto the wheels. The engine and suspension has been installed. And, the chassis and floor pan are up on four wheels! More to come...
  14. Thank you Jon!
  15. I'm kinda glad that it is coming to an end. The weekly arguments between Paul Jr. and Senior is what kept the show going for all these years. Everything changed when Senior fired Junior and the show changed it's name. To me, OCC's claim to fame was Junior's bike designs which came from his head, not a computer program. That is OCC's downfall with Jason and his computer. The real design is comes from your head and your heart, not some computer program. OCC's logo was designed by Paul Jr. During the Senior Vs. Junior show, Senior was always badmouthing Junior while Junior never said anything bad about his father. It makes me wonder about the truth of these so-called "reality shows" and if they are really scripted. Watch the ending credits on some of these shows and you'll see a credit for a "writer" and I'm sure that it goes beyond the show narrator. What I did enjoy about American Chopper was watching the bikes form from raw steel into a finished product. The painting from Nub was fantastic! The man knows how to paint!!! People tuned in each week to watch the arguing between the Teutuls. It got kind of boring after a while, especially with Senior being so stubborn and argumentative. He always seemed to be always looking for a fight. And, I can see it all happening again as Senior and Junior start a new business venture together. You would think that with what they had endured over the last ten years would be a sign as to not to do it again. The writing is on the wall...and video tape! I agree with Mikey's decision to leave the show. Mending fences with your father on national TV is not the way to go. This is something that should not be aired, IMHO.
  16. Thanks Joe, Charlie and Tyrone! I don't know why that line had popped into my head, but it did! I think I watched Sledge Hammer! just for Anne-Marie Martin! Anyway, I have completed my '69 GTO Judge and it is posted Under Glass. I would like to thank all those who took the time to view and to comment on my WIP.
  17. This is the 1969 Pontiac GTO The Judge, painted with Model Master Hugger Orange with a black interior.
  18. Thanks Joe and no worries about the side mirror...it's on there! I had gone and detail painted the front side markers for the GTO and noticed that the instructions where somewhat vague about the actual placement of the markers. I Googled images of a '69 Judge and all I found were small round front side markers instead of the rectangular side markers that are in the kit. These seem to be more of a cornering light than a side marker. I wanted the round side markers for my build so I drew upon my '68 Mopar tutorial for my front side markers. First I started with two common pins like you would find on a new shirt and cut them down to about 1/16th of an inch. I then drilled a hole in the front valance panel in the proper location. I've been told that I am a brave man for drilling into a nicely painted surface. To quote TV cop Sledge Hammer, "Trust me, I know what I am doing!" I inserted the pin into the hole with a little glue and then applied a dot of clear orange paint to the pinhead and I am done! Here Comes Da Judge...
  19. Tonight the GTO got its interior, body and chassis joined together. The hood got a good polishing this morning. It does have a slight twist towards the driver's rear edge of the hood. I'll run it under some hot water tomorrow morning and see if I can flatten it out some. Here Comes Da Judge...
  20. Thanks Samuel! The Story McNally stops at the BPD Homicide Unit to talk with Sgt. Adam Troy before heading out of town to Springfield. Adam hands McNally the latest reports on the case while Det. Darvell watches in disgust. “I should have a copy of the ME report for you in a day or two. CSU has found lots of finger prints on the Cadillac’s trunk and tail fins, probably from pushing the car out of the garage.” “Any hits on the prints,” asks McNally? ”No, not yet. How about you,” asks Adam? “I’m going out to Springfield to interview Walter and Mary’s estranged son if I can find him. Then I’m heading down to Portland, Connecticut to interview the buyer of the Caddy. I talked to the Parregrins’ lawyer this morning. He gave me the address for the buyer and a possible location on the son. Has Darvell found anything yet?” “Nothing yet,” says Darvell “Like I told you last night, Adam…ineffective,” as McNally walks out of Adam’s office. The Build I did some brush painting on the interior tonight. It didn't come out too bad, but I do need to do a little cleanup in a few places and the carpet will get a coat of flat clear to knock down the shine. McNally, Boston PI Will Return...
  21. Welcome back Brandon! I'm glad you enjoyed your vacation in my favorite state!
  22. Thank you Dave! On a whim the other day, I decided to paint the A100 just to see what the Mica Red would look like over the reddish brown primer. Have a look... I like the dark red color and it should really shine when I polish the paint. More to come...
  23. Thanks guys! Bryan, this clear does look deep! I think that may be due to some of the thickness of this clear. And, I used the last of the clear from the can which was a little less than half full.
