1960 Ford F-100 Pickup
mrmike replied to mrmike's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Thanks Carl and Bob! -
My new project is the '60 F-100 Pickup. This will have a Tamiya Pearl White and a Tamiya Metallic Red paint job, wheel trim rings and hub caps, and a rodded out engine and floor shifter. I started out doing a mock up and then it is off to the sink and a bath. The front end needs to come down a bit and I have some Revell axle pins so I won't have to stare at the metal axle intruding on the engine compartment.

Thanks Bob! That's all this kit needs is a little TLC.
-
I assembled the wheels and tires after I painted the wheel backs. Then I added the core support and the firewall to the body. Now it is ready for a bath and some paint.
-
Sorry David. I didn't mean to forget you. Convertible! Box stock with a wired engine!
-
Thanks everyone! After the foul-up on my Ford GT body, I wanted something kind of different, but familiar. I've had this kit for about 15 years and it seems simple enough, so it is on the bench.

My newest project, the '65 Lincoln Continental. The project will be painted with Dupli-Color Stellar Blue Pearl with a Semi Gloss Black or a grey interior and whitewall tires. I need something remotely familiar after the mess I create with my Ford GT.
-
Since I am having so many problems with the body of my Ford GT, it is going back in the box for now and I will start a new project soon. Stay tuned!
-
It looked great in the pictures before I started assembly. And, thank you for the tips on assemble. I will take them to heart!
-
I took apart the Ford GT and I started reassembling the Ford GT this afternoon. The body will assembled and covered with Easy-Off Oven Cleaner to removed the paint and repainted in the same color. Tamiya TS-50 Mica Blue.
-
Take your time and don't rush it! Paint as many parts as possible as some parts require more than one color. Thank you Andrew and Jeff!

I went to assemble the body of the Ford GT and I ruined the body. I may soak the body in Easy Off Oven Cleaner, assemble the body as best as I can and repaint the body. This rots!

Thank you David, Jim, Lei, Eric and Carl! -
Thank you everyone! XYHARRY, I have a Monogram Jaguar XK-E kit in my stash that may be the same as yours. This kit is not the same version that I just built, as that is all new tooling.
-
I finished my Jaguar XK-E Coupe. It is painted with Dupli-Color Forest Green Pearl with a Tamiya AS-15 Tan interior. It features a wired engine and built box stock.

Thank you Larry! -
My '82 Dodge Street Van is complete! Painted with Tamiya TS-20 Metallic Green with a Tamiya AS-15 Tan interior, side pipes from the '68 Pontiac GTO, factory wheels from the '78 Dodge Little Red Express and decals from the '70 Plymouth Roadrunner.

While I had the paintbooth up and running, I painted the Ford GT. Looks good, but there are many body parts to this model! I hope got them all!
-
I added the hood to the rest of the car and it is tight! I may leave as it is instead of trying to loosen it up.

Thanks for the message, but I have some made from clear packing material. Thanks anyway! -
Thanks Carl! I'm sure it is worth some money for it.
