  1. That is awesome fab work, keep it up!
  2. Hi Niko! Actually... I bought the kit off of Ebay for $80.00(U.S.) and I believe it is quite old... The contents are typical for older kits... some flash, not a whole bunch though... decals are useless but that's ok, I have big plans for this kit in the near future! There used to be a Vega showcar named "Wild Horse" and I plan on building this close to that... Tubbed out, injected rat motor, the paint on "Wild Horse" was a copper/brownish color, I plan on going black with candy blue flames, maybe candy green with silver tips, we'll see!
  3. My mancave area today! Some of the stash...
  4. A very unique concept for a "getaway" paintjob... I never would have thought about that! Looks good though!
  5. Looks like it will be a cool build! I too like the blue and silver scheme...
  6. I didn't realize that we get shot down for too many pics... Here's the rest!
  7. I have been able to get some stuff done over the past few days... pretty much got the chassis work up to snuff... Here's where I'm at... I'll keep plugging along as I am able to... I need to start looking at ordering some detail pieces and one of those Bobby Allison Matador kits so I can rob the engine out of it... 'til next time... Enjoy!
  8. Oh Yeah! These are just awesome cars... What I would give to have one in my garage!
  9. Thanks Jeff! That is an awesome shot! Yeah, that is a very sweet ride... I have longed for a '70 AMX for sooo loonnngggg! I had a '71 Javelin SST that over a period of about 8yrs I built into a pretty sweet ride, turned mid 11's but was certainly no 8sec. ride!
  10. Thanks Bart! I'm all over that bit of info! I wasn't real happy with the engine that came with the kits that I have on hand and was gonna have to try and make do... Not now!
  11. This looks like it is gonna be a great turnout! I love old mopars!
  12. The one and only! My friend Jimmy, the cars owner, and I were up at the AMC Nats held there back in I believe... '92 or '93... He has had that car since he was just out of high school, 1983'ish... as far as I know he still has it!
  13. This is a sweet project! It looks like it is coming along great!
  14. Certainly a different build theme but kinda cool, keep up the good work!
  15. Looks like a nice project, your dad should really be surprised!
  16. Looks real nice, should be a real cool ol' school!!!
  17. Cesar, This is an excellent build thread! Keep up the great work!!!!! It will be nice to see the finished result!
  18. Well, I decided to try running the body under hot water for a bit and then add finger pressure in the opposite direction of the warp... That seemed to help, I did that several times and it seems like it might be "relaxing" into the shape that I desire... I went ahead and started to get along with the build... I continued with the chassis work, adding the front subframe and side channels to the floorpan. Now to get the body situated where it will reside and measure up my upper subframe pieces for the front struts to mount to... For those of you that enjoy AMC's, here is a link to a HOT AMX on Youtube... Here's some update pics... More coming up soon!
  19. Hi Guys! Sorry for the looonnnngggg disappearance, I had been working on a motorcycle restoration and then work got busy, etc... Anyways, I had not forgotten about this build although I did step into the aviation model world for a couple of months I am now coming back to this arena and while perusing the project as I had left it... I had gotten a real nice '70 AMX body kit from Missing Link and so I'm looking the kit over and it occurs to me that the lower right side rocker panel area is warped... Being that this body is resin and my first kit using a resin body, can anyone tell me a safe way to manipulate this "warpage" or remove it? I was wondering about running it under HOT water for a bit and trying to bring it back to shape? In doing some trial fitting it is really noticeable and will only be moreso once I get a nice shade of candy orange layed down for color.... Thanks for any hints or tips! Here are a couple of pics of the warpage... I'll try to get more project updates on here soon... If I can't come up with a way to fix this issue I may have to shelf it until I can figure something out... I really want to finish this but don't want to buy a bunch of aftermarket pieces for it until I know I'm satisfied with the repair... Thanks again for any help!!! Steve
  20. Looks pretty nice! I like the idea that your're scratchbuilding it!
