  1. Hey all! well i mostly only build Nascar or Racecar models but after my last build i needed a change of scenery so i took my girlfriend to hobby lobby and had her pick out a car she liked and i'd build it to the colors and design she had thought of. As for the 69' camaro, i'm a chevy guy so i just had to get it. i should have just got a regular silver paint but instead i got silver metalic which looks a little much to me but let me know what you think!
  2. Very clean! Nicely done!
  3. Hey all, this is a little misleading because this is a Snap-tite kit. its the only COT nascar kits available right now. It is a great step in the right direction for us Nascar guys though i just hope they come out with glue kits and these aftermarket companies start coming out with more decals. i did this build just like the manual said, nothing fancy this time... just testing out the waters with this one. i might buy another one and scratch build most of it or just start from scratch on this one since nothing is glued haha! the pictures should be pretty self explanitory... the decals were junk though. next time i will purchase aftermarket decals cause' these did not want to move once they were applied. tore a few that way. any questions just ask!
  4. Ok so here is the most updated pictures... *the car is not finished* i decided not to go ALL out the the detail because since this is the "race win" version with a flat tire you only need to see its good side haha i also decided not to install the engine and radiator because on this build i wanted to keep the hood down and secured with hood pins which in these pictures only one is installed haha...i'll save the engine and extra parts for my next project...a race shop diorama
  5. oh i know, i miss that black 3.... but last year at the local dirt track some guy had a 1964 chevelle on the track in the street stock series and made it look just like earnhardt sr.'s tan #8 short track car from 74' heres a link to the video i took of it...was taken on my phone so not very good quality but it was still very cool to see thats what it might have looked like to the great earnhardt racin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMNSMMcGnb0
  6. now THOSE were racecars, awesome cars! they look great!
  7. hey my friend! looks great jose! im finally starting to get back into the swing of things with my dale jr. car, i painted the chassis and body today, now gotta let it dry and decal and detail, your gordon car looks great so far!

  11. wow...absolutely beautiful car!!
  12. alright, the engine is pretty much all finished! had to take a break from the project for a little while...it started to feel like work and thats never fun! first time using pro tech hex fittings and lines and they've worked great! im very satisfied with their products! since this is the "raced" version car i was leaning to a more dirty engine but there are a few spots in the pictures i noticed i'll have to work on, thanks for lookin!
  13. nice clean racecar!
  14. yes someone pleeaaasseee reply to this....especially in regards to nascar where the whole car is covered in decals...i want to put a coat of clear over it so the decals dont peel over time but i dont want to ruin it...
  15. getting a little closer on the engine...created a collector for the headers but i have a question for anyonw who might have the answer! what size hex fittings look like they would work with the size of braided line.....i had extra line laying around so for the life of me i cant remember what size it is....
  16. thank you john!! and yes tonight im actually putting the finishing touches on the headers i added tin foil as collectors....my first time attemting any of this so i hope it turns out fine! that will be great to see you martin car, he's such a great person and driver. and yes i hope to have mine finished one of these years also haha -Ray
  17. hey jose, thanks a lot! well when i went to north carolina for a race i went to a bunch of race shops and actually went to dale earnhardt inc. and they had the engine on display but it didnt have the transmission on it... so im trying to be as accurate as possible but decided to paint it red to give it a little color variety!
  18. Hey thanks alot! well not much to report back about but it was my first time using timiya paints and i like the result! used a various amount of timiya paint to heat stain the exhaust headers that i formed from sodder wire... was my first time ever doing this or even making my own headers so sorry if it looks a little sloppy! and finished the ignition plate! thanks for checkin it out. Ray-
  19. very very nice mustang!!
  20. nice detail! i like how you even heat stained the exhaust tip!
  21. i've got a 1996 camaro...its a 3.8 v-6...got it when gas was $4.25 a gallon here so its better on gas then the z-28...nothin special but it still scoots
  22. Well I can almost guarntee i have the cleanest work bench in America.... (i have to share it with my girlfriend) haha as you can see my work bench is a small computer desk with a few boxes of supplies next to it! so there you have it.... a workbench that needs to be completely cleaned off each night before bed haha
  23. awesome! now those were STOCK cars. i love how you drilled holes to simulate where the chrome trim would go and the interior work...great build!
  24. awesome camaro, i knew i should have picked up that kit when i saw it... i plan on doing a 70 1/2 camaro. any color scheme planned? -Ray
