This is awesome, and I dont even know what it is. Great work -
Hey all, this is what happens when I cant get the motivation to finish a build, so here goes. What are your favourite builds that you have finished? Trucks, cars, dioramas, anything. All I am digging for is some inspiration to get me to pull my finger out and finish a couple of builds so I can share them here on the forum. Cheers Codie

If that had been photographed with some creative back drop it would be hard to tell it was a model. Very nice work.

WOW!! The weathering on the car is just brilliant,I admire anybody with the skills to pull off weathering like this. Too cool! The trees and ground just set it off so well. Nice work.

Love the straight six engine you are using and those leopard skin seats look cool as. Very nice ride!!

Charlie, I remember reading in Street Machine magazine (Aus publication) a few years ago now, about an Aussie guy whose dream was to drive from New York to Los Angeles in his Valiant Charger which he had shipped over to the USA to live out his dream. I remember that he said he had a hard time convincing the locals that Chrysler Australia did produce a slant six Hemi engine, even got into a couple of arguments over it,but other than that everybody loved it. Cant remember whether or not he brought the car home with him or sold it while over there.

Good work so far. This is gonna look really cool when you finish it. -
That is very cool, still quite a common sight on our roads here in Australia. Those old Scanias never die. Good work.

Very nice, dont see the old A done like this one very often. Good job

Whats your favorite brand of car?
codie27 replied to Jared Roach's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Anything by General Motors that was built up until the mid 1950s. Bullet nose Studebaker coupe, Hudson Hornet and the Tucker 48 would also be close favourites. -
Thats the one, mine is a champagne colour. They are detailed nicely, but could do with more.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. I thought this was not going to be an easy one to find, seems I might be right. Although Im going to have to try and find a Modelhaus resin body and build my own chassis and find some suitable running gear for it. I like the model that you posted Phil ,looks very sharp. Has anybody here ever used a diecast body and made modifications to it? I have seen the Tucker in 1/18 scale and have a 1950 Studebaker Champion also in that scale which I want to pull apart and add some real detail and body mods.

Hi all, not sure really where to place this post as its not a model build, but a question for you all. Does any model company offer a Tucker 48/Torpedo as a kit? If not, is anybody out there producing them in resin? I dont know about anybody else, but I would absolutely love to get my hands on one of these. Imagine the possibilities that could result from such an awesome subject.....

Awesome detail and custom work going on here. Great imagination.

Long weekend projects

I like it,the colours look really good. -
Good stuff, I really like the old Boss. I have been looking on e-bay for some time for one of these but none seem to come up for auction in Aust. I did buy an Aussie conversion kit in anticipation of the reissue kit although I do have an Italeri Western Star kit which I have been considering donating for the project as they share the same cab.

Nice work, looks very smart in the colurs you have chosen. Is it true or just a rumour that AMT are going to re release the Road Boss again soon? I want one to go with my Road Commander....

Dingo, Should be a pretty cool looking rig, sounds like you got a fair amount of work in front of you, keep us posted. Codie

Jim, This seems like its gonna be a very cool truck when you get done building it. The old Superliners were a tough looking truck and its always good to see them. I am building an H61 Mack at the moment and so far it has been my most time consuming project ,with all the researching and parts I have ordered,it should hopefully be my best one yet. Anyway, I have been checking out your thread for the last few weeks and thought I should leave a comment and say thanks for keeping us up to date. Codie

Jim,good point you have raised about the licensing issue,I didnt actually consider that. Its a shame it puts such a restriction on our hobby in regards to new releases being introduced. Just gotta be thankful we have a good number of choices in resin gear I think. Do you know what the problem with licensing products is, with say, Mack trucks for example, when other manufacturers such as Volvo,Scania and Peterbilt have quite a selection of their trucks in kit form available? -

Hey guys,I was just reading the comments regarding the price of this one, sounds like a steal to me when you consider that here in Australia we can pay up to 170 of our dollars for a kit thats not even a new issue! I got my fingers crossed that this one will be sold in Australia,I would have no probs shelling out the bucks for one of these kits. Awesome work your doing there Dave, seems like you couldnt have picked a better truck, judging by all the interest here on the forum.
