I have been doing this for years its a easy way to do it and if you know how to place the wires it does look real. I know because i have won first place several time using this technet GREAT TIP!!!

Heres a tip use the chassis out of the AMT 442 olds kit it is more detail and it fits great...love the paint job you did.

I primed it with red primer then painted it with rustolem labor blue from Wal-mart.I then wet sanded it with 800 grit til it showed the red primer. I had some issues come up on sanding it started showing the plastic so I took a brush and dabbed it from spraying red primer on a paper plate.I also used the weathering kit from Hobby Lobby called Sophisticated finishes.

Yes they are from revell's 57 chevy kit...

I got nothin at the model show they put me in with all the shinny trucks all well there was alot of awesome models there.

Amt kit not a resin cut down to a shortbed using parts from amt's newer 1960 chevy pickup chassis, 1984 GMC inside fenders,a rare 1960 longbed used woodbed out of it. You can see this truck blue I rebuilt it cause it got broke from moving it so I redid everything on it.

This a real AMT kit cut down to a shortbed not a resin. I built this in two weeks its going to the model show in SLT 10/28/12.

LOVE ....your project it makes me want to build one...

I was biulding like some one found it sitting and just fixed odds things an made it safer to drive....

The wheels came from the American Graffti diecast 55 chevy kit...

I been working on this off an on for 6 months playing around but ended up liking it alot..first time dealing with rust.I always want to try it but didn't think I would like it added more pics....

I just cleaned my table up but left the project Im working on... My rusty 55 chevy barn find.

I had a dream that amt retooled the 67-68 chevy truck kit using the same tooling as the 1960 chevy truck kit... It felt so real that evan went to work thinkng of it.. then relized it was a dream went I got home..

Got them today in the mail My plans are kit bashing them both into short beds and better detail
