  1. @ David aka Espo , the axle is kit supplied. ...I wondered the same thing. Kinda gasser set up if ya ask me. Google image gave me the gas filler idea and I just had to have it and the side markers too. Using coffee stir sticks will get you a better looking part...I mean what's more real than wooden stir sticks . What you see is a push bumper ...just placed back there to inspire me. The kit does include a styrene "wood" push bumper and it's detail is faint.
  2. Kool new avatar Rich. Oh and BTW ...I concur.
  3. Got this one from one of my club buddies (thanks Chris). Kit #7135 from Revell/Monogram Hot Rod Magazine Chevy Street Pickup. Got rid of the stepside and replaced it with a stake bed. Dunno the origin of the bed ... Built up a push bumper out of coffee stir sticks. Used Model Master Fabric Tan on the interior. '32 Ford steering wheel , parts stash shifter, head rests, door pulls, corded mike cable and a dusting of red and brown powders. Chassis has straightened leaf springs, rear of chassis was narrowed to allow the use of the stake bed. Drive shaft loop added.Gas tank relocated. Mufflers from '32 Vicky...straightened with a lighter, pinned and muffler hangers made.Disk brake rotors from '32 Ford.Weathered the whole thing too. Cab got 'lectric fan from '32 Ford and some horns from stash to busy up the front area.Sun roof got filled and a stash hood scoop added. yada yada yada t thanks for looking . . .
  4. Got my hands on one of these '53.First thing I did was redo the funky looking windshield top by raising it up a sconch.
  5. Appreciate the tip/technique on the oil slick effect. This is one of those builds I keep coming back to and reread ...thanks again for sharing/posting.

  7. Insert wolf whistle here ____________ . Clean work.
  8. Thanks for sharing/posting. Impresive realism. What's your technique for rhe oil on the transmission?
  9. I've put in an order at Hobby Town the salesman said it was due in October which to him it meant sometime in November. These vintage wheel covers are the same that will be in the reissue. (fingers crossed for good clean chrome) The vendor had only 3 and knowing a good lowering and skirts would do the trick, I took them home. Here they are installed on a Lindberg '40. The interior door panels were built up using the pleated bed cover. Like Rich said...door panel details are very faint. Used the pleated bed cover to make new door panels. Hood and cab sectioned with emblem retained. Can't wait to get the call from my LHS.
  10. bwahahahahaha That's exactly why I chose the "DRAMA" rear plates. Sure as sunshine,my next '40 will be a Revell brand. But hey...new in the box for 8 bucks, why not?
  11. Thanks y'all ! Good eye Glen,I had to add slivers of styrene to fill in the gap. Used masking tape to protect the grill side "gills" and then added a filler piece on top of the grill area with bits of half round to match the grill shape. The hood itself needed work on the sides just to sit right. After the chop , new gutters were made with stretched sprue.Front fenders had a horrible mold line on the sides.Naturally ,I went overboard and rounded the wheel well too. p.s. 15. " I was finally able to beat this thing into submission " Well said Rich ... best quote ever.
  16. Picked this puppy up at Ollies for 8 bucks last month. Chopped the top and made some skirts . Made the bumpers closer to the body and added bumper pans/splash shields. Side trim removed from hood (didn't line up) and added new trim to mid point and extended the reveal while I was at it.Clear styrene for the windows after making masking tape templates. To get the tail dragging , the chassis was stepped and a new drive shaft tunnel made.Chassis is weathered up a bit. Jump seat area is covered with a tuck and roll insert. blah blah blah Thanks for looking
  17. McLoving the interior and the two tone paint. Thanks for posting/sharing.
  18. Thanks y'all...much appreciated. Work and fishing have taken up all my time. (grateful for both) A little update on my 'lil project. Using my trusty bottle of Ambroid Z-Mask, I slathered it on the handlebars, chain/guard assembly and the crank/pedals. Clear bubbled on me ....a light sanding is in the works. anyhoo..here are some pixs
